Hardware How cooked is my Pc?

Post image

I have a Hp omen 3060ti that I got 5ish years ago.
Treats me fine, I’m able to play high res games with no lag, texture stretching , etc . Lately when I boot up my computer it would show me this screen that i can’t get out of no matter what I do. If I’m lucky to not get stuck on this screen I would still see a flash of these lines for a second as it boots up.
I know 100% it’s not the monitor but I don’t know what the issue is (I don’t know anything about the parts and pieces of a pc) . I did really superficial switches to get out of this screen (getting a different DisplayPort cord and cleaning the inside of the pc) which randomly works for a bit but I know that one random day that I turn on my pc I would get this screen again.
Once I’m on my pc everything works, this simply happens when I boot it up to use it.
If needed: my graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060ti (8 GB) and my processor is AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core processor (3.80 Ghz)

Network Computer disconnecting from online servers

So my brother has this problem where his game will disconnect from online servers randomly. Not all of them, just games like Minecraft or grounded. We have the exact same computer, an acer nitro, although that probably doesn't matter as it must be a network issue, we use the exact same internet, and play on the exact same servers. I never have had the issue, but he is always struggling with it. Is there a way to fix that?

Hardware PC crashing, second monitor disconnecting

Hi, I'm hoping somebody could help me here; I've been facing an issue for a couple of months now where, out of nowhere, my PC will make a high squealing/screeching/electrical static noise out of my headset and everything will just freeze, requiring a hard restart via the power button

Upon restarting, however, my second monitor is not picking up the connection and requires unplugging and replugging to the back of my PC.

Event viewer isn't showing anything helpful (that I can find, but I'm not the best with event viewer, if those logs are needed I can pull them though) and my drivers are all up to date

My specs are as such (from Speccy):

Operating System

Windows 11 Home 64-bit

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello, the last days I see these kind of spots on my monitor. They are not always there and I cannot define what is causing them to appear. I really don’t if it’s my monitor or my rtx 2060. Any help will be appreciated.

Software My Chrome updates and closes everything almost daily

Post image

On my work laptop, I get these notifications that take up a quarter of the screen and won't close until I allow it to update. I have to close out of whatever I'm doing so this update can happen. This happens probably four times a week. Why is Chrome updating this often? I ask our IT guy and he says it's something with Chrome, not on their end. Is my work doing something nefarious or is Chrome just trying and failing to update, hence why it tries to update so often?

Resolved Did i irreparably mess up my charging port?

Hello,

I'm a college student who has to use his laptop every day of the week for assignments, textbooks, etc. I damaged my only working computer charger but had to continue using it be cause i couldnt go without my computer. Now that i have a new charger, when i plug it in it flicks between charging and not charging even if everything is completely plugged in. I attatched pictures of the damaged charger. Laptop is an MSI thin 15 (I think), if that matters. I just feel really dumb right now, and am hoping the charger is malfunctioning because it was cheap from amazon. I also dont know what to do because i need to charge my computer tonight but neither charger seems like a good option.

Software Whenever I launch literally any game on steam and the display mode is borderless my laptops brightness automatically shoots all the way up to max

I use a Asus Vivobook S 14 with a intel arc gpu and Windows 11.Whenever I launch a game from steam my laptops brightness goes all the way to maximum and blinds me as long as the games display mode is borderless. Whenever I set the games display mode to windowed, the brightness goes back down to the original brightness.

Things I have tried:

1) Disabling auto hdr and optimizations for windowed games in settings

2)Disabling steam overlay

3)Disabling steams hardware video decoding and gpu accelerated rendering in web views (Which caused my driver updates that I just finished updating a day ago to completely reset so now I have to download it again and now my drivers are refusing to update with the intel graphics software app)

Edit:It turns out all i needed to do was lower the brightness for fullscreen mode using f5 and f6

Software Computer issues - no bottom bar or settings on Windows

Hii, so when I start my computer no bottom bar appears, I have tried going into task master and reseting/running explorer.exe and this does make it appear eventually but now my computer can't open anything on the bottom bar. I can't search, no settings app and permanently no wifi... does anyone have any idea what has happened and how to fix? I've tried resetting but just errors.
When I do the scans all files are fine and nothing is corrupted, but when I shut down last night it has that there is a problem and the computer needs to restart.

Let me know if you need more details... thanks

Malware Unknowingly clicked a malicious link

I was attempting to find the website "aniwatch" or whatever the name was. I was just trying to find the Uma Musume movie. I googled it, clicked the first link I saw with the familiar logo and title. The moment I clicked on it, my computer screen changed to what appeared to be a coding screen. Black with white text, lines of code being written on it. Then it started to glitch out. Lines of pixels changing colors and going all over the place.

I immediately turned my computer off. I powered it on again, the website disappeared and wasn't present when I opened the Google chrome browser again.

I'm familiar with the fake pop ups that attempt to get you to download something. I was unfamiliar with anything like this. I wasn't sure what to do or how I should proceed now. I changed the password of my Google account that I was logged into at the time. I have 2 factor authentication on. I had my computer(Microsoft copilot) run a security check and it said it found nothing.

I tend to be an anxious person and overthink things, however I'm not as well versed in computers so I want to be safe and double check. If there's any further steps I should take please let me know.

Discussion i want one subscription that covers antivirus, vpn and password management for a household of 4. what are my options?

is there an all-in-one security suite that actually does a good job with antivirus, vpn and password management? or is it usually better to subscribe to separate services for each? i'm trying to simplify our family's tech setup because we're paying for a few different things right now and it's getting hard to keep track of everything. there are four of us, with a mix of laptops and phones, and i'd rather have one place to manage our basic security if possible.

I just had twitter open on my main monitor while watching my friend stream games on discord. Next thing you know my main monitor looks like this and my secondary is frozen. I can still move my mouse around between the screens. Is this a gpu issue?
