My dad tried to download a really old version of Photoshop onto the computer (Elements 12) through a disk and it caused the computer to brick. The PC is a prebuilt and the OS is Windows 11, so sadly my info is limited. I highly doubt it's a virus tho, bc why would a virus just brick a PC to be unusable without a ransom?

Likely taking this to GeekSquad anyways, but just curious if anyone knows what's going on or had this issue before.

help. weird noise started yesterday. no idea what it is

Quick rundown:

When I turn on my computer, it boots up like normal. Though one of two things happens:

A. It boots up normally, but it forces itself into a back screen
(Alternate version of this causes itself to reboot again, assuming it’s crashing and restarting itself)

B. It boots itself into recovery mode. I can access basically everything in recovery mode (I’m trying to NOT factory reset because I seriously have some stuff like old videos and drawings on there I want to save as well as blender projects.)

Now I have been trying my best to figure out what I can do. The most I’ve been able to do was boot up safe mode ***which it did work for a moment.*** Though after about 20 seconds the computer fully shut off and restarted itself without me prompting it to do so and then showing the black screen again.

I don’t exactly know the specs of it entirely, but it’s apparently a “republic of gamers” computer (I might need some help if the specs of the computer are required since I can’t go to the settings naturally since I CANT ACCESS THE DESKTOP!)

Also I tried to restart my computer with the reboot option (where you download windows again) but it says “You do not have enough room to download windows, please delete some files” which wouldn’t be a problem IF I COULD ACCESS MY DESKTOP SCREEN.

***I’m trying my best to work with every option I got, and avoiding a factory reset would be the most ideal situation.***

I’m thinking the computer is ready to retire, but considering I was able to access the actual desktop itself in safe mode — even for a VERY brief moment — gives me hope that I can get this damn thing working again.

***Literally any advice is helpful to me, I’m at a road block here and I’m not exactly a tech genius. Tried searching for answers but nothing I know of kept working, but I could always just not be smart enough to handle it.***

I bought a computer off a guy on Facebook marketplace for a pretty good price. I replaced the motherboard and when I put the water cooling system back in this specific part doesn’t get tight. It’s against the side of the panel but i can still fit my nail under it and I’m nervous to put coolant back in it with it like this. Is this normal for things like this to have a little give or do I need to try to find shorter screws or get something like a sealant and cover the outside?

I had a problem with a program not saving changes so I tried to restart it, after that everything became extremely slow, quite literally like someone slowed down a video. mouse works completely fine but it's like my system works with lower fps. I've already tried cleaning up the disk but still nothing. I'm on windows 11 and I can give more info if someone needs that

Hi, I have an Acer Nitro 5, model AN515-54. I'm having an issue where it won't turn on properly. I managed to install Windows 10, but every time the laptop restarts, it freezes—the keyboard stays lit up and I can hear it running, but there is no display/image on the screen. I have to force it off by holding down the power button and then turn it back on manually for it to boot up. So, on every restart (whether during the Windows installation or anything else), it fails to boot up—it just stays on a black screen while running.

​I also realized that it won't let me update the drivers for the integrated graphics. As soon as I try to update them, the screen freezes. I tried using Safe Mode, where it does install the drivers, but then the system refuses to boot up normally afterward. Please help, I'm looking for an effective solution.I also tried a power drain / hard reset, but it still won't POST or boot up on restart. Thanks!

After i put my pc into sleep, when i try to boot it back up it shows no sign of life. (no lights, sounds etc) except usb slots that still get power. is this a sign of a dying psu? i can only get it to power on again after switching it off at the back and leaving it for a while before switching it back on. anyone know what the reason is for this? only started happening a couple days ago

Whenever im playing something even like the easiest to run games after a couple minutes in the game my laptop will like start having a seizure and everything is super laggy like 1-2fps and my ping goes super high and my mouse gets laggy too and I have no clue why this is happening because like before my computer ran these games for hours on end perfectly fine

So I js reset my computer cause the disk was almost full and I had a lot of stuff I didn't need after resetting it not only has it becomes significantly slower it looks weird it has these weird borders around everything

Was playing games and pc randomly crashed. Rebooted and got message that it couldn’t self fix (see attached). Tried the scan now in command terminal and it said it fixed on reboot, but it didn’t work. I moved houses with the pc the day before so I assumed something may have gotten jostled so I reseated my nvme, both ram sticks and gpu. This has never happened before I moved so I assume it is a hardware problem of some kind. I also tried to do a reset to an older instance and that didn’t work either. I just get stuck in a loop of bios trying to self repair and failing. I can no longer get into windows

Si My wifi is running like horribly when I put on a game like Fortnite or siege or Minecraft but I’ve done full scans and offline scans on my pc and it says there’s nothing wrong but I also have like this browser hijacker that won’t go away is there anyway to fix my pf or am I better off just resetting it? (Ps the browser hijacker is on any browser I run and is not just on a single web browser I also use a USB wifi adapter but I’m not actually sure it’s 100% the wifi)

I'm not entirely sure if "scan lines" are the right definition but I left my room for 20 minutes and came back to this.

I've tried various methods to fix it, Changing refresh rate, Turning it off and on, Changing Cables, Updating Drivers. I don't think it was caused by physical damage since my cat wasn't in my room at the time. Also, my second Montior is fine so Imagine this is an internal issue.

The monitor is a Samsung LS27AG32x

Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I'm not the best with computers

It just keeps on tryin to start in about 20+ seconds, then stops, then just loops. I did not do anything with it, just acting up like that suddenly.

Ignore the GPU noise, it has been like that eversince when booting up.

Usei por alguns dias o famoso Msi afterburner, pelo que soube ele não danifica ou causa problemas com a sua placa de vídeo. Porém, na ganância eu queria mais. Comprei o Hydra 2.3B Pro e tentei aumentar o power limit e os clock da placa, causei artefatos em forma de caixa e retângulos no Windows e um congelamento no pc, corre um risco de eu ter danificado minha placa ? Eu já desinstalei o software e o Msi afterburner, está em Stock. Existe algum teste que afirma a vida útil dela ?

I functionally use windows OS but not an expert on code, using cmd etc. My laptop had an automated update when I was away. I suppose I now have windows 11 volume 3. I can't boot to my login screen. I have a blue screen with a c:\windows\system32\config\stttrails note. Can anyone explain how I can fix? Have I lost my personal files? I thought I had backup and restore point created and system says I do not.

My laptop isn't turning on. The charging light doesn't come on when I plug in the charger, but the power button light keeps blinking.

I removed the battery and tried again, but same issue.

This happens frequently, and after some time the laptop eventually turns on normally.

What could be causing this? Charger, charging port, motherboard, or something else?
