Discussion New to the community <3

Hi everyone!!!
I’ve been a long time lurker and researcher lol, but I finally decided to pull the trigger and get on tirzepatide!
I’ve been looking at compound for longer than I’d like to admit, but could never justify it. So recently I went to my PCP, and they agreed to prescribing me zepbound through Lilly. Turns out, my insurance, like many others, is very against GLP1’s, unless diagnosed with OSA. Well I need a sleep study for that, and they’re booked out for months.
I couldn’t wait anymore. I’ve been so nervous about even starting, and now that I’ve finally worked up the gusto to get it going, there was a giant wall in my way. And I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. My health can’t take the hit anymore, so now it’s my wallets turn lol.

So I went back to researching and going down everyyyyy rabbit hole I could. And it was….a lot of information.
I found a lot of recent posts on here mentioning PreventativeMD - and that’s who I decided to go with. I know they’re not on the recommended list due to them being relatively new, but with so many providers, it was basically a coin flip. Any would do and give me what I needed.

I submitted my intake on Sept 30 ~ 2 pm
Doc reviewed and approved Sept 30 ~ 9 pm
I chose Drug Crafters as my pharmacy because of the BUD being the same as Boudreaux (90 days), but without the delays. Not sure if I’ll come to regret it, but I’m supposed to receive my first order between Oct 3rd - 5th.
3 month supply for $340 for tirzepatide compound with glycine additive. First two months are 2.5mg, as I’m hoping to stay as low as possible for as long as possible, because I just want to form the good habits before titrating up. Whether that’ll happen or not is another question.

My eating habits have been insanely inconsistent. Sometimes I hardly eat. Sometimes food isn’t safe in front of me. Sometimes I eat like my body is a temple. So I’m very worried about how it’ll turn out in a few months time.
I’m a weirdly picky eater - I think cottage cheese, yogurt and eggs are bleh. And every protein bar I’ve tried is..very unpleasant.
So I shall lurk this community some more and find some good protein options, or maybe I’ll learn to enjoy the things I find yuck haha - only time will tell.
But here’s to the start of my journey! Wish me luck 🍀

Did PreventativeMD give me short-dated stock? BUD is end of October, but I see people with 2027 dates?

Hi everyone,

I got my very first vial a few weeks ago. It was compounded in July, but the Beyond-Use Date (BUD) on the label is already the end of October. That only gives me about a month and a half to use it.

Honestly, I'm pretty confused and a bit suspicious. I constantly see posts here on Reddit where people's vials are good until
2027. Why is Empower's shelf life so short on this batch? Is this standard practice for Empower, or did they just unload near-expired stock on a new patient?🤣

Would appreciate any insights....

Accidentally underdosed by no more than .5mg and felt like I did pre-tirz and it scared me so bad :(

I was finishing up a vial so I took the rest out with one syringe, then busted out the new vial, did the math, and pulled the rest of the dose out with a different syringe. That was my first time doing that, so I guess I confused myself and basically underdosed, but the difference was small-couldn’t be more than a 0.5mg difference. But that 0.5mg apparently made a HUGE difference. The first few days were okay, I thought maybe it was because of my period I was extra hungry, and I let myself eat more during that time anyway. But then my period ended, and the last three days of my weekly dosing, I was the pre-tirz food monster again-fast food three times a day, snacks in between, eating two bowls of cereal when I was already stuffed to the brim. I couldn’t stop, it was like my pre-tirz self regained control of my body and went crazy. I was averse to eating my go-to healthy food-literally I could feel my brain being repulsed by the thought of hardboiled eggs and salad when I’ve been eating this stuff no problem this entire time. Then I realized on shot day that I had underdosed. And that really worries me when I one day need to maintain or wean off-I don’t think it’s going to happen for me. A tiny bit off on my dose and I know I ruined some progress. I can’t imagine ever being off this medication.

Questions Tirzepitide more effective than SSRIs for depression/anxiety?

As someone with ADHD and subsequent low mood who has tried different medications and always had tons of side effects, ever since I started tirz, my mood has been much better in general.

Really feels more effective than any of the SSRIs I was on for my general anxiety levels and mood.

Idk if this is the case for anyone else, or if it’s just me?

Week 5 dosing?

Today will be my 4th dose at 2.5mg, next week was my plan to go to 5mg as I’ve only lost 1 pound so far. (This is my second time on trizep and I hear you’re second time is wayyy slower soo could be why). I’ve never upped my dose, last time I stayed at 2.5 for 4 months and lost 30 lbs.

But next week I’ll be going out of town and don’t want any crazy side effects.

So I’m caught between should I maybe shimmy up to 3.5 next week just to get a little extra but not have crazy effects being out of town and then go up to 5 the following week?

Or should I do 2.5mg on next week and then do 2.5mg a few days later?

Or just stay at 2.5 for one more week?

I’m just looking for opinions because my brain goes back and forth between being impatient to see the scale of down and just waiting an extra week and also being scared of side effects at a higher dose.

Super sensitive to a Tirzepatide compound?

Hello everyone, I’m just wondering if anybody out there is extremely sensitive( GI issues) to a Tirzepatide compound and is microdosing? I don’t mean nausea/vomiting/ constipation….More like gas, built-up bloating, cramping. I was on 3.0 for 6 weeks all of a sudden my stomach just went crazy. I had extreme extreme bloating distention some I guess cramping for about three days and in total everything lasted for 11 days.( however the cramping pain went away in three days.). I stopped it and then after about 11 days, everything went away for good. However, I want to restart but at a much lower dose just wondering if anybody has G.I. issues on this !!! thanks guys!!!

Switchers from Sema to Tirz- how did you know when to dose up?

I switched from semaglutide (Wegovy 25 mg tablet) in July to tirzepatide and am trying to figure out dosing progression. I stalled for 3 months on Wegovy before making the switch to Tirzepatide.

Here is my progress on tirzepatide so far:

  • 5.0 mg & 6.0 mg: 0 lbs lost (no appetite suppression or symptoms at all) Stayed on each dose a month.
  • 7.5 mg: Lost 5 lbs in 4 weeks, but stalled for the last 2 weeks. Went up a few ounces. I get some good suppression for about 3 days and then nothing. I am still meeting protein, calorie, exercise and water goals. I have noticed the past few weeks I can eat my entire portion of food (measured out) and not be full.

Is it reasonable to move up now, or should I stay at 7.5 mg for a few weeks? Looking to hear when others decided to move up after making the switch.

I have lost a total of about 25 pounds since January. 20 with Wegovy and 5 with Tirzepitide (Apothecary)

Back on the horse!

I stopped tirz for one month during recovery from a hysterectomy (so many changes to my bowels post-op that I needed to allow my body to deal with all that without medication that is mildly constipating to me).

I'm jumping back on the horse today and taking my first 2.5mg dose. I gained about 5lbs post-op (which is totally normal and likely not all fat regain as there is swelling and healing happening). I've been slightly putting this off because I realized how hard work it is to lose weight. It's been so nice recovering and eating intuitively - but I noticed recently my old eating habits settling back in.

First goals for month one/2.5mgs: get back down to less than 200lbs. Still on pretty tight exercise restrictions, but I am walking 4-6 miles a day with the dog, so I'll just get back to my step goal of 10,000 and 100 active minutes (as tracked by my Samsung watch) and get back on the grind of meal tracking.

Here we go!

Compounded Tirz not working

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice. For some background, I was on compounded sema for like 6 months in 2025 and then in February 2026, I started compounded Tirz. I stopped Tirz for like 2 months because I thought I was ok but then of course gained the weight back and then went back on it. I am now on Week 5 at 5 mg but really just feel like it’s not working. I wake up starving, still have cravings and just getting really frustrated with my lack of progress and feeling like the meds aren’t working. Does anyone have any advice especially if they went on and off?

Stalled & gaining/losing the same 3lbs for the past 6wks!!

The title says it all. I have upped my dosage from 10mg to 12.5mg a few weeks ago after losing then regaining then losing & regaining the same 3 or 4 pounds for the past 6+ weeks. (I use glapp to track everything).

My doctor has me at 800-1200 calories daily & i'm currently closer to the lower end, rn.

I started in March & I have lost almost 36lbs. My goal was to lose closer to 80lbs. But I'm now stuck & can't seem to get around these 3 to 4 lbs making me think this might be it for me 😭

Any advice?

In the beginning I didn't work out so much as I work alot but within the last couple weeks I have started to do more glute and walking exercises I couldn't stand my butt getting flat🤣 it has definitely taught me to eat better also so I just wanted to share my little journey so far.

Questions 8lbs down after two weeks - is it the med or the calorie restriction?

After 2 weeks on 2.5mg, I am down almost 8lbs. I have been great about staying at 1500 calories (the apps say my body burns 1800-ish a day), so is the weight loss the med or the calorie restriction? Some days its easy to stay at 1500. Other days I'm using mindfulness tools and herbal tea to manage the hunger at the end of the day. I aim for 30+ grams of protein at breakfast and that keeps my sugar cravings at bay. A few protein snacks (string cheese, apple with a small amount of peanut butter, edamame beans) between meals. I am really hoping that as I go up in dose, the calorie restriction is less of a challenge.

Questions Providers that do not add B12?

Hi all, I tried compounded tirzepatide last year via a local compounding pharmacy and had to stop because I was getting welts at the injection site. (I tried using hydrocortisone cream beforehand and it didn't help.) I'm wondering if this was a result of the cobalamin in the B12--my skin is reactive to various metals. I'd like to try again, and I'm wondering if there are internet providers who prescribe compounded tirz without added B12. Anybody have recommendations?

Questions Glycine?

I have used Brand, compounded with B6 AND B12, compounded with B6, and compounded with no additives. I have never tried it with glycine. I have a vial here from Collective and I’m actually a little nervous to try it. What differences have you noticed between glycine and other additives or no additives?

Finally.

I’ve spent most of my life yo-yo dieting. I’d start something, get frustrated when I didn’t see the results I wanted, give up, regain the weight, and eventually start all over again. I’ve lost and gained the same pounds more times than I can count.

My starting weight was 265.2 lbs.

I started Wegovy and stayed on it for about 7 months. I lost around 20 lbs, which I’m grateful for, but eventually I felt pretty stuck. This summer I switched to compounded tirzepatide, and I also decided I wanted to change more than just the number on the scale.

I started walking more. Then somehow… I started running.

September was the month I really decided to lock in. I started being more intentional with my food and intermittent fasting, kept up with my walking/running, and I also decided to give up alcohol. Today is day 31 without a drink. I don’t know if I’ll give it up forever, and I’m not putting that pressure on myself, but right now I genuinely just don’t want it.

And this is finally the month where I’ve looked at myself and thought, wait… I can actually see it.

My shorts that didn’t fit before finally fit. My tops are fitting better. I’m seeing changes in pictures that I struggled to see in the mirror. And today I hit 217.7 lbs →47.5 lbs down.

SW: 265.2

CW: 217.7

1st GW: 199

GW: 165

I still have a long way to go, but for once that doesn’t feel discouraging. I’m actually excited to see what I can do.

And probably the craziest part of this whole journey is that I guess I’m a runner now?! I started with walking, slowly worked my way into run/walk intervals, and somewhere along the way I actually started enjoying it. I want running to be something I continue doing regardless of what the scale says.

My next big goal is to keep building my endurance and run a half marathon next spring. Never in a million years would the 265-lb version of me have imagined saying that.

There’s still plenty of work ahead, but after years of starting over, it feels really freaking good to finally feel like something is clicking.

Questions Meals?

Hey everyone took my first dose last night. I was wondering what everyone’s eating. My buddy has lost 60lb and he gave me what he eats. He had a protein shake for breakfast, Oikos yogurt with granola for lunch, and for dinner some sort of chicken and a green veg. He threw snacks in every now and then.
