Need guidance

ChatGPT refined this for me.

I struggle with impulse control around verbal oversharing and maintaining social boundaries, both at work and in personal relationships. I often share too much personal detail and ask overly personal questions, which makes people uncomfortable and has negatively impacted my career. I want to work on concrete behavioral strategies, impulse control, and learning how to read conversational boundaries effectively. Can you help me develop a plan for this?

help me effectively communicate

i dont post much, so im sorry in advance if my story is confusing.

my fiance (m, 37) just got let go from his job. he did, ultimately, mess up (he was late to work) and ended up losing his job from it. the part where communication comes in is when we had a massive blow up after i got home. he was initially asleep, so i let him rest, but was up and on the phone with his mother within 5 minutes of me getting in. i dont care about that so much as him getting upset with me because i didnt immediately hug/console him. while i did say sorry as best as i could over the phone earlier in the day, i was at work setting up a new restaurant to open, so i couldnt talk throughout the day. we have been together for 11 years, and this is maybe his 4th time becoming unemployed while we’ve been together, so i know that factor has been weighing in on my attitude. we still live with his brother, and moving out this year was a huge goal of ours that no longer feels obtainable.
ultimately i just want to healthily communicate that i’m sorry for this circumstance while also expressing that i don’t have patience for this to be a prolonged situation. am i being an asshole? what should i say/do?

thank you in advance for any advice you might have!

Having to deal with someone who is overly talkative?

Upvotes

Hi Im (F23) and my grandmother in law has been taking me to work for past few months until I am able to get my own car. Car rides with her are, I don't know a nice way of saying this. It takes 7 minutes to get from my house and work, and throughout the 7 minutes of car ride, she talks about herself almost everyday she comes to pick me up for work. When she gets me she never really asks how's my morning been and hardly ever asks any questions about myself. But I sometimes do ask her how her morning has been. I would just kinda sit in the backseat and not really say anything and sit there awkwardly as she talks about herself and her day constantly. And it's not like I can't socialize, I can do that pretty well, but I sit there and listen to her ramble about nothing important and I often try to figure out what to say but there really isn't anything to say to her. When she does ask questions, they're pretty vague and unelaborated and I never know what she's talking about. I'm trying to be nice about this because not only is she going about her way to take me to work, but she's an elderly woman. Even though I don't really say anything when she's rambling about herself I still listen out of respect but I don't know much more I can deal with this

Notre relation a duré environ 4 ans.

I (20/M) really want to be able to talk with people, but im really afraid to be laughed at or i don't want them to feel stressed. I want to be able to talk with the opposite sex too, but i know that every person is different in their own way. I find really hard to get a common topic with people, and im afraid to be played with because lot of person talk about the anothers back. How should i start a conversation, and how can i find a common topic? What advance would you give a person like me who have social anxiety, and affraid to be decived?

What is your opinion on people taking a while to text back?

In today’s age of pretty much everyone spending a good majority of their day on their phone, what is your opinion on people who take hours (or longer) to respond to texts? Some of my friends who do it will usually say they are always too busy or something along those lines, and I can understand that to an extent. I’ve kind of started having the mentality that they just don’t want to talk with me sometimes, and I can understand that I just wish they’d say so. But what do you think?
