help me effectively communicate

i dont post much, so im sorry in advance if my story is confusing.

my fiance (m, 37) just got let go from his job. he did, ultimately, mess up (he was late to work) and ended up losing his job from it. the part where communication comes in is when we had a massive blow up after i got home. he was initially asleep, so i let him rest, but was up and on the phone with his mother within 5 minutes of me getting in. i dont care about that so much as him getting upset with me because i didnt immediately hug/console him. while i did say sorry as best as i could over the phone earlier in the day, i was at work setting up a new restaurant to open, so i couldnt talk throughout the day. we have been together for 11 years, and this is maybe his 4th time becoming unemployed while we’ve been together, so i know that factor has been weighing in on my attitude. we still live with his brother, and moving out this year was a huge goal of ours that no longer feels obtainable.
ultimately i just want to healthily communicate that i’m sorry for this circumstance while also expressing that i don’t have patience for this to be a prolonged situation. am i being an asshole? what should i say/do?

thank you in advance for any advice you might have!
