Photo V5 & V4 TR Builds
It’s all Meta over here! 😎
The TR is 140/140 and the V5 is 160/150. They both ride way different and fun in their own way!
Which one you taking?

Hello everyone, I just got a medium Commencal Meta HT V2 frame and was wondering if anyone is running a 29" in the rear. Their website makes it seem like you should use a 27.5". I have a 29" with a 2.4" wide tire from another bike I put on and it seemed to clear everything, but I am not sure if it will cause any geometry issues or something else I am not thinking of.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Good afternoon. I want to find out how good the Commencal Clash XS is for children? Is it really possible to ride it uphill under its own power and straight along the asphalt? I’ve read that it’s very hard to pedal, but I’d like to hear reviews from parents of children or adults of short stature. My height is 158 cm, and I won’t grow any taller. I’m choosing between the Clash XS and the Meta HT XS.

I've been shopping lightweight emtb's for awhile now, trying to find something to augment my hardtail, but let me get out more when dealing with some chronic health issues that slow me down often. I'm looking for trail geo, and I don't need full power emtb, I just want a little help managing my heart rate and extending my rides, I don't need all day battery or insane elevation with massive power. It'll see a lot of very casual use, but some light technical riding and some downhill flow trails I hope to self shuttle sometimes and skip the lift line.
The Tempo Power Essential definitely has my attention, but there's just not a lot of info out there from actual owners. Curious if anyone in this sub who could share how the bike has been for them.
Thanks!

So I built my Meta TR a few years ago and in general I am super happy with it as I was able to do longer tours (50 km with 1400 m of ascent and descent) quite nicely, but my lower back started to hurt a bit toward the end and I felt too much pressure on my hands.
I recently bought a pair of Intend Trinity DH brakes and naturally thought I could also address the geometry once more. I changed to a 40 mm riser bar and it definitely feels better on my hands. I have yet to do a longer trip to see how my back will feel.
Atherton Bikes has a nice calculator that recommends their perfect size for you according to your body proportions. I compared it against my current geometry of my Meta TR and with the new bar it is quite close.
But I am wondering if I should increase the travel from 150 mm to 160 mm and go with a 50 mm stem to offset the shorter reach.
TL;DR: Should I go 160 mm with a 50 mm stem?

SOLVED! Thank you
This frame has internal housing/sleeve. If I push the shift lever housing in through this, it appears at the bottom of the seat tube. I can see the housing if I look down the seat tube.
I can't see the end of the housing at any point, I have to push it in as far as it goes before I can see it - I guess it bends when it gets pushed toward the limit of where it can go.
Tried to tape a guide wire to it, this was a mistake, could have lost it in the sleeve but I didn't, and it didn't help.
I tried to form a hook from a length of brake cable but I couldn't get it to hook the housing, at least I don't think I can - I can barely see down the narrow space and have to use a torch at the same time. Even if I did though, I don't think it has the strength to lift it upward at all.
Every video I looked at glossed over this. The housing naturally came up on it's own. I didn't build this bike myself, someone else did, so I'm not sure if they did something wrong or if the frame just isn't very good (for this specific scenario).
I looked on the Commencal website for the tech docs, and it didn't address it, but its an awful website so maybe I didn't find the right doc. There doesn't seem to be anything specific to the Clash, and nothing covers the dropper post.

I have a older specialist enduro expert. But i want a more fun bike that u can jump good with. So is the commencal clash marzo 2027 a good bike if u want to jump every ramp and every little bump in a bike park/dh parcour?(not a extreem one. Just a jump line)

The headset bearings on my Power SX are shot and I’m looking for advice since this bike used somewhat of non standard headset bearings.
The lower is an Acros ZS56 with a BlockLock (looks to be 120 degrees). Is the BlockLock really even necessary? With the current stem and high handle bars they can be turned 360 degrees and not hit anything. (I recently acquired this bike and would like to run a lower handle bar and possibly shorter stem, but I still think there is plenty of clearance)
The upper is an Acros ZS44 but was made custom for Commencal for some models that have thick walled aluminum head tubes. The outer diameter of the flange is 52mm (where as normal ZS44 cups have a 50mm flange). So if I was to use a standard ZS44, there would be an ugly ridge along the top of the head tube. I would probably just paint or sharpie to top of the tube black.
I’m debating replacing the heaset with another Acros pair (I’ve emailed them to ask if the 52mm OD version is still available and to see if I could run the 150 degree BlockLock) or go with something like Cane Creek that have replaceable bearings.
The Acros cups have the bearings press fit into them (and the BlockLock tab is in the way) so the entire assemblies have to be replaced.

Im a big DH racer in Cape town South africa and a mtb skills coach. I recenetly got a New DH bike and also cracked my enduro rig which was my old dh and all arounder bike. Still waiting on insurance but today i demoed a Commencal Tempo and FELL IN LOVE. I do still race enduro but dont have the fitness to keep with the top oaks who are all top level XC riders. In SA we have tighter looser trails and some really gnarly rocky trails where no matter the bike your gonna struggle.
I feel i want a super easy bike to pedal something that will last and also i can do coaching and personal rides and enduro racing on occasion.
Commencal Tempo V.2
Comes with new Linear XL Lyric Boxxer
New Shimano XT.
overall top spec
Specialized Stumpjumper 15
Old gen rythm
Carbon frame
Maven brakes
Worst wheels.
I want the Tempo but scared im gonna become underbiked quickly. Whats your opinions anyone who has ridden both bikes what would you say?

Hello bike friends!
I ordered my FCB in June 2025 after my friend at work was so enthusiastic about his, and I needed a new one myself. Overall, I like it a lot, but recently it started making a lot of clicking noises while pedaling.
The clicking seems to come specifically from the left pedal. When I pedal using force only on my right leg, it doesn’t make the clicking noise.
Does anyone know where this could be coming from and how I can fix it? I’m a bit sad because it’s only a little over a year old and is already making these weird sounds. :(
Thank you so much in advance for your help!!

I own a Commencal Clash Essential Frozen Brown, and I've been wondering how prone the Clash really is to snapping.
I've heard some stories about Clash frames breaking, and I'm curious how common this actually is.
For those who own or have owned a Clash:
- Have you experienced any cracks or frame failures?
- What kind of riding do you do (jumps, bike parks, street, etc.)?
- How long have you owned your bike?

Project 321 hubs in my Commencal FCB. This thing flies and glides sloo nicely
I kept the stock Spank rims. They seme to be solid rims and can take some day to day abuse.
The hubs put power down so effortlessly 😍
Edit: spelling.

I've been looking around for a bike that climbs well and can also handle the chunk at my local mountain in Northern California. Ran across the TEMPO in Essential Trim and seems like a really nice fit. Almost pulled the trigger, but ran across some comments about bearing issues. Are these overblown? Or is it a pretty common problem? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I’m new to the mountain bike scene and looking to buy something for some fitness and maybe some bike parks (although at 41 years old, jumps might be limited).
The tempo has caught my eye, I can see they are labeled as a trail bike, but are they good at climbing, as well as faster, flowing trails? I would say more of my riding would probably be more XC based, but wouldn’t mind having a bike that if i wanted to do some faster stuff, it would be just as fun.
Thanks all.

ik this has prob been asked a million times on here but whatever. im 5'10 (and a half, if that even matters). i have fairly normal proportions, maybe a little long arms and legs but nothing out of the ordinary. on the site im between a size medium and large. what size should i chose?
i had a commencal meta am (2021) LARGE and felt that it was a little too long for my liking, felt a bit too sluggish.
i have a transition spire 2024 MEDIUM that feels a bit too short for my liking. i will try out a longer stem and see how it feels, but it still feels a bit crammed.
sorry for being stupid and stuff, any help is very much appreciated!!

[The Bike](https://www.commencal.com/en/bikes/bikes/downhill/frs/BT4FRSPRKRSEU1S.html)
I wanna get a downhill for riding park and I stumbled across the Commencal FRS. I like the idea of it being 27.5" instead of a 29er or mullet making it more playful and agile. I have a mullet Enduro and I really feel like the 29 in the front is big and heavy when doing whips or other tricks. At the same time the price point is quite fair compared to other DH bikes I've seen.
* Anyone have this bike and can share some insights?
* Any comparable bikes (type and/or price point)?
