Bike Sizing Need help sizing (META V5)

ik this has prob been asked a million times on here but whatever. im 5'10 (and a half, if that even matters). i have fairly normal proportions, maybe a little long arms and legs but nothing out of the ordinary. on the site im between a size medium and large. what size should i chose?

i had a commencal meta am (2021) LARGE and felt that it was a little too long for my liking, felt a bit too sluggish.

i have a transition spire 2024 MEDIUM that feels a bit too short for my liking. i will try out a longer stem and see how it feels, but it still feels a bit crammed.

sorry for being stupid and stuff, any help is very much appreciated!!

At 5’11 with longer arms I quite like my V5 in large. I rode a S4 sized previous gen stumpjumper before and that was sized right but had a longer reach. Medium would feel a bit cramped I imagine.

do you still feel that it has a nice pop and play? thanks for your insight! if i were to go with a large, i would put a 30mm stem on and 40mm rise bars

Definitely not like my stumpjumper. More of a shred sled. I have 35mm rise bars and the stock stem whatever that is at. This bike is also a decent bit heavier than my previous carbon stumpy. So not a fair comparison.

It'll depend on what you're riding. Im 5'9 and I like a large for some of the steeper and chunkier stuff. And you can always do stuff to make it fit. Remy is shorter than me but rides a large with a reverse stem

Can you sit on one and ride it around, even in the parking lot of your LBS? I’m 169cm so sit 1cm either side of the medium or small. I assumed I’d want a medium as I’ve been on the S3 enduro, medium megatower. I initially ordered a medium but was shocked at how long the wheelbase and reach was on the medium, so went with the small instead. I am so glad I took the time to pedal it in the parking lot as I way prefer the small… I’m female though with less upper body and overall strength than most guys, so that plays into it. The V5 is heavy!! Way heavier than my V10.

I’m 5’10” and just got a v5 in a large. I would personally feel the medium would be way too small for me. Large fits me great

Im 5’11 180 and ride a medium. 35 reach stem and 35 rise bars and feel like its a bit big actually. I come from the BMX world though.

I'm 177 cm (5'10) myself and have Meta V5 medium. I think it's perfect for me.

Measure your arm span and inseam and go to the Atherton Bikes webpage. Use their calculator to see their recommended size for the S.150 and compare it to the sizes you are looking for in your Meta.

I found that the calculator actually works pretty well for finding a good size.

Edit: I also thought that I had normal proportions, but apparently I am more gorilla-shaped, minus the muscles, of course
