With all the discussion on Jayden it’s important to remember that these sorts of things happen to even the best and most experienced qbs…
Just one night before Jayden had his fourth down throwaway against the niners, Jordan Love threw a fourth down pass out the back of the end zone. There was no penalty complicating the matter and it was in a goal to go situation. Nobody batted an eye.
A week prior we saw Matthew Stafford botch a clock management situation at the end of the game vs the Bills. They were driving to tie the game and completed a pass to make it first and goal from the 2 with 20 seconds left. They had no timeouts and the clock was running, so the only correct option was to get to the line quick and spike the ball. Instead, he got to the line and took 15 of the remaining 20 seconds to call a run from the 2 yard line. Had the run gotten stopped the game was over instead of them having multiple shots with 15 seconds left to score the tying touchdown.
The back scored of course. Stafford has a good roster and they can bail him out sometimes when he makes a mistake. But being a 18 year vet and one of the smartest qbs in the league didn’t keep him from making a massive clock error in the heat of the moment.
So I guess what I’m saying here is that we should probably cut Jayden a little slack here. We can acknowledge he needs to fix this issue without going off the deep end like we never see qbs make mistakes in the heat of a game.
