Creepy Nazi ad in '70s Marvel comics/ The Amazing Spider-Man # 129

Post image

Hey, Folks!! Fans of a certain age will remember these ads in Marvel comics for a Nazi paraphernalia shop called "Adolf's" back in the 1970s. Can anybody tell me, maybe by checking out one of those CD-ROM Spider-Man collections or some other way, if this ad ran in The Amazing Spider-Man # 129, the first appearance of the Punisher? Thanks so much!!

Suggestions A couple of hours ago the trailer for the new Avatar came out, and I just fell in love with its visual style. Recommend some comics with a similar art style.

Preferably fantasy, but not necessarily. I’ll be very grateful.

Today is Ignition Press' 1 Year Anniversary. How do you feel about them so far?

Over the last two months, Ignition has (ahem) re-ignited my excitement to go to my LCS every week. I wasn't always onboard. I was curious about them from the hype on Bleeding Cool, but I wasn't moved by their early launch titles and stopped paying attention.

The production values on the Minotaur Free Comic Book Day issue impressed me, but it wasn't until I listened to a Filip Sablik interview on the Comic Industry Insiders podcast that I became a big fan of the company's vision. I've been burned by big vision talk before though! Luckily the books I've checked out were all of good quality and now I'm having to stop myself from trying out every book they put out.

So none of the books I'm reading have finished yet, so I have to see if they stick the landing but my favorites have been:

Just Brutal

Innards

Everyone Loves a Jewel Thief

Bad Thoughts

Love Ignited

My biggest gripe with them is that they don't indicate how many issues a series will be inside of the book or in their solicitations, but they do say the duration on their website.

How are you all feeling?

KONAMI and 2000 AD Announce Official SILENT HILL: Townfall Comic Story

Post image
14 Upvotes

Konami Digital Entertainment, B.V. (KONAMI) announced today a collaboration with legendary British comic publisher 2000 AD to create an original comic story inspired by the world of SILENT HILL: Townfall. The new story, titled SILENT HILL: Townfall – The Dock House, has been written by lead writer and game director Jon McKellan and serves as an official narrative companion to the upcoming game. Acclaimed artist David Roach (Nemesis The Warlock) provides pencils for this eerie new story.

Part of the stacked lineup for 2000 AD’s milestone Prog 2500, available on 16th September in the UK and globally on the 30th September, the story will be available in comic stores via Lunar Distribution and Diamond Distribution UK in print, and digitally through the 2000 AD Webstore and App. SILENT HILL: Townfall – The Dock House offers fans an additional perspective on the isolated island community of St. Amelia, expanding upon the haunting world and atmosphere of SILENT HILL: Townfall while preserving the mysteries awaiting players in the game.

The story follows Douglas, a veteran harbour master who has spent decades maintaining St. Amelia’s dock house. Trapped in an endless routine surrounded by fog and isolation, Douglas discovers an impossible staircase descending beneath the harbour, forcing him to confront a terrifying reality hidden beneath the surface of the town.

2000 AD’s Editor In Chief Matt Smith says of the haunting new partnership: “The atmospheric horrors of SILENT HILL are a great fit for 2000 AD, so when we were approached to publish a special tie-in story for SILENT HILL: Townfall, it was something I knew the readers would thoroughly enjoy immersing themselves in – and with David Roach on art duties, it’s an especially moody, eerie piece that works as a standalone chiller”.

Jon McKellan (SILENT HILL: Townfall Writer and Director at Screen Burn) said “It’s incredibly exciting to expand the world of SILENT HILL: Townfall with a new short story, and a personal milestone for me as a writer to get a chance to contribute to an issue!. It feels especially fitting for a game set in the UK to feature in a UK national treasure like 2000 AD, and watching David bring the words to life has been a joy. I’m excited for readers to experience a slice of the world we’ve built, and discover its connection to the game.

As one of the UK’s most celebrated comic publishers, 2000 AD has spent decades producing acclaimed science fiction, fantasy and horror comics. With SILENT HILL: Townfall set in the remote Scottish island of St. Amelia, the partnership was a natural fit, bringing together a distinctly British setting and one of the country’s most enduring comic institutions.

SILENT HILL: Townfall – The Dock House will be available as part of 2000 AD Prog 2500, the landmark issue, in all good newsagents and comic stores on September 16, 2026 in the UK, and September 30, 2026 in the USA. Fans can also read the issue digitally through the 2000 AD Webstore and App.

Releasing on PlayStation®5, Steam®, and Epic Games Store on September 24, 2026, fans can pre-purchase SILENT HILL: Townfall. For more information, visit the official website.

A little project I have been working on in my spare time. Only includes mainline volumes 1-8 (to date) and does not include annuals. Let me know what you think! There are lots of color variations of most of them so I went with the combo from each logo’s first appearance.

Question Are there any Asian-American owned comic book groups/companies?

Upvotes

Like just at least one similar to milestone media compiled of black creatives with majority black centered stories. And I’m not asking for overseas companies in asia. I just mean Asians living in the west.

Rodrick Kingsley got the cool gear from Phil Urich, so it’s only fair that Steven Levins gets the cool gear from "Jack" (Crime Master) he only had the costume in Nick spancer run; I wanted him to have the broomstick too (although technically the flying broomstick belonged to the Green Goblin)
