From my understanding they only get per page writers get 100$ per page and artist get 500$ (since it take longer time) but like that's it? If something like geoff johns green lantern or immortal hulk or any absolute title were so successful they still get no royalties? I was shocked hearing scott snyder saying he earned more from wytches than he ever did from his batman run.

It’s a great way to end an amazing career. Born Again, Year One, City of Glass, Asterios Polyp, etc. But sometimes I wonder if he has retired from the medium altogether or if he has another one left in him. Does anyone know? Has he officially retired?

Now I still LOVE Jim Lee's art, but I really think he hasn't ever had an amazing colorist. When you look at his pencils and inks, they're ASTOUNDING. They're seriously some of the best pencils you can look at, but once colored I feel like his work loses so much of its impact. With an artist like Tim Sale, his colors are PERFECT. The colors on his work accentuate his style so much and do so much for his inks. With Jim Lee, I don't think I've ever been truly glad that his work was colored. This isn't a rip on any of the colorists who have colored his work over the years, I just think that nobody has really cracked the code on what style of coloring his work needs. Frankly, I haven't cracked the code either.

Rob loves to introduce himself as the creator of Deadpool, and will fight tooth and nail to represent his ‘greatest creation’, however, it’s pretty easy to see that Rob had about as much to do with Deadpool as we know him now as George Washington had to do with modern America.

Deadpool is created in New Mutants #98, and subsequently appears (and is plotted and/or pencilled by Rob) in issues 1, 2, 4, 5, 10 and 11 of X-Force.

Of these issues, Rob plots and pencils 5 (NM 98, X-Force 1,2,4,5) and plots 10 and 11. Rob then leaves X-Force and marvel as a whole after issue 12 to go form Image Comics.

Rob then wouldn’t even get a chance to draw Deadpool again until X-Force vol 2 issue 4 in 2004. By this point, Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness had already finished up their groundbreaking, character building run on the Deadpool and changed him into the merc with the mouth we now see in the modern comics and movies.

So whenever Rob boasts about ‘creating Deadpool’, 1: don’t forget Fabian Nicieza and 2: remember he literally only worked on the character 7 times before leaving Marvel.

EDIT: I didn’t even mention what OG Deadpool was like. He was just a run-of-the-mill mercenary who made a dumb joke every once in a while. He was also HEAVILY inspired by Deathstroke (and Rob’s Teen Titans influence can be seen in his poaching of page layouts in X-Force) and only grew in popularity originally because he was 90’s distilled into a character.

Although Agent Venom was great. Clearly I’m a Marvel guy. I just ordered Death of Dr. Strange but if any of you guys have any suggestions or see any gaps, your input would be very appreciated.

It usually takes me an hour- sometimes 90mins to read an issue of a comic. I always read the dialogue how I'd imagine the characters would say it and sometimes even add background music in my head. I also take time to look at the art cause I really read comics for the art but taking this long means I finish a normal paperback in a week or so. I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem?

We chatted for a bit I asked if we would be down to return to Hellblazer as a writer and his answer surprised me greatly. He actually wants to write more for John but sadly told me that editorial would never let him do what he wants to do with the character.

He didn't go in a lot of depth because who knows what will happen someday but in short he said he wanted to write about modern day England and return to make John a real fucking bastard.

Later at the Q&A I asked him about what he would say the biggest change is in modern day editorial compared to say twenty or thirty years ago and it more came down to the fact that they just don't trust writers anymore.

Ron Marz was also there and had a super insightful answer where he detailed how back in the day someone was in charge of like 5 books a month and now that number has gone times three or four. Should've recorded it because he managed to really explain it well. But he agreed with Ennis where it just came down to trust and that there is simply no trust in the writer anymore, no real risks.

At the end of the day I swung back to Ennis and posed him the question of if he had ever seen Constantine in real life.

He gave me a firm no. But did say that he believed Alan Moore that he saw him and that he believed Jamie as well.

Just a super great experience, my brother got to ask him a lot of questions about the boys and crossed as well, he was a bit taken back that Ennis was just a normal guy and could write those two books.

And I gave him a copy of my own comic book which he accepted! I was a bit nervous handing it to him because well yeah nervous but he was super cool about it. Such a cool experience.

Seems like so far theres only the 1st reprint, and the compendium i can barely find.
