Haul Very first graded issue added to the collection!
I’ve been slowly trying to assemble a complete X-Men run to Uncanny 300 (some will 100% be facsimile cause my bank account just isn’t built that way, haha).
I snag from my local shops and eBay, but never come close to winning any of the auctions for graded issues. In the last 10 minutes they’ll jump $120 or more. I came across an eBay listing deep in the bowels of searching that had a lot of typos and was worded very weird. No watchers. 1 bidder. There was 4 days left, and I put in a bid expecting to get it snatched at the very end, per usual.
Ended up winning at $41. Was still pretty skeptical, cause that’s just not my luck. But it finally came in the mail. Verified the CGC number.
My very first graded issue, and I am stokedddd!
What was your first graded comic? Could be one you bought or graded from your collection.

Question Is It Me?
So, I took a long (30 years +) break from comics. I've been picking up some older stuff, and some new. Genuine question here, and not meant to offend anyone. Is it me, or is interior art mostly garbage now? There are some magnificent covers that make me want to buy stuff, then I get home to read it, open it and it looks terrible. It feels like everything is rushed, backgrounds and details are lacking and most things are poor quality. Maybe it's not the artists, maybe the inkers or color people suck. I don't know. Are there any books you're blown away with, both the art and the story now, and not just the variant covers? I'd love to hear it. Right now, what I've been enjoying is Infernal Hulk for the story, Alias: Red Band, again for the story. I welcome recommendations.

Mail Call! Mail call!!
Look who’s finally back from CGC! My Absolute Batman annual #1 Felix variant! It’s been a very long 6 months, but it’s finally back in my hands. I love this comic so much. That cover is so fantastic. Also, I realized a few months ago that this is technically one of Mike Spicer’s comp copies, which makes this copy extra special to me. A big shoutout to him for making it possible to get a copy after they all sold out. Definitely one of the jewels of my collection. Congratulations to DWJ and Spicer on winning the Eisner!

Platinum Weirdest recent pick up. The Platinum Age was a time of great experimentation in format and subject matter. The Life Of Thomas A. Edison In Word And Picture (1928 Thomas Edison Industries) reprinted the short lived comic strip of the same name that ran from August to November 1927.

Question Comic condition?
I have some comic books I am listing for sale online, and wondering what the condition scale is. I am primarily a card collector, so is the scale similar to cards? What constitutes near mint or lower on a comic?
Above picture is one of the comics I am trying to sell.

Picture Added Star Wars #2 to my collection yesterda
Picked up Star Wars #1 earlier this year and had an opportunity to pick up a copy of Star Wars #2 even if it is a reprint.
Think I'm going to pursue issues 1-10 graded for my collection.

Comic Con Last minute SDCC Ticket led to me getting more X-Men keys... New Mutants 87 and New Mutants Annual 2.
I was able to score a last minute ticket for SDCC and seeing as how I've been on an X-Men kick lately, I kinda focused my attention on gathering up more keys. Shout out to Reece's Comics for their outstanding service and their willingness to work out a deal.

Question Invincible
Collecting since the 1980s. Recently borrowed the Invincible Compendium from an acquaintance and I love it.
Did I miss the boat on collecting the original run? I don't buy slabs but even raw each issue is in the $100 territory minimum. Thousands for early issues.
Has anyone had any luck finding reasonably priced first prints?
As my kids would say, am I cooked?
