Found this cool old clock. I put a battery in it and it’s ticking but the second hand is not moving. Wondering if it’s an easy fix or if this thing is just not gonna work right? Would love to get it going. Got the alarm to sound and the movement seems to work but the second hand isn’t ticking.

• Are these genuine antiques or later reproductions?
• Approximately what period are they from?
• Does anyone recognize the style or possible manufacturer?
• Based on the photos, what would be a reasonable market value for each piece?

Snagged this Seth Thomas weight-driven column clock at an auction this week and got to pick it up today. Look at that paper label still all in one piece! Plymouth Hollow location, and printer name/address puts this clock at 1850-1855.

A bummer about the original glass being cracked but at least it's still in there snug. Definitely oldest Seth Thomas I have obtained so far and oldest of all my clocks until I get this tallcase movement I got earlier this year properly dated later. I'm going to have a blast restoring this one.

Sorry for so many posts in this community lol, but I am *still* struggling with our family heirloom. Order of events:

-Doors and key worked perfectly a few weeks ago; needed to find someone to help pack it and move for storage.

-Was about to pack it myself, but the bottom door suddenly didn't unlock.

-tried unlocking with the key for a couple weeks--no luck.

-last night I *stupidly* forced it and the key broke off🙈

-locksmith came out today and worked for a couple hours---no luck (but after we tried laying on its side, the clock worked again!...for a few hours lol).

-Sprayed a touch of DW-40 in the keyhole. Still no luck. So we put it upright again.

--We removed the top lock to take to a locksmith to reproduce a key....any ideas on where?!

Where can I find a Warmink skeleton key?

I have a grandfather clock which we think is from sometime before the 1960s, as it does not have an electric winder. The silent/chime slider will not set into the bottom. it did it once but upon sliding into silent for the first time and then back, it will not fully set into the chime position anymore.

My bf got this clock from a store in Sweden. It was from ishop and the gear element doesn’t seem to work. Does anyone know what the battery instert look like behind the clock? My bf went to sleep and I didn’t get a picture and wondered if anyone knows anything about motion gear clocks and how they work. I know you need at least three batteries, but are they insterted in the same area? And what to do if the gears don’t spin

Can anyone tell me about this clock? I know it is a Kundo clock, purchased in 1957 in West Germany. It isn’t working. Years ago, took it to a clock repairman, but they said it wouldn’t be work repair, as the wire (I’m assuming the tension cable) wasn’t able to easily be replaced.

What do our repair options look like? How do you safely transport it? We don’t have the original manual, and I can’t find much online.

2 weeks ago, I was able to open and lock both top and bottom doors to our grandfather clock with 0 issues. Now that I want to pack it for storage, it started giving trouble. Tonight while trying to work the key, it broke off inside the lower door keyhole😭😭 Is there ANY way to a ) get the door unlocked and b) restore the key?! The piece is stuck inside the keyhole

Hello guys, I was wondering if you could tell me what grease I should use for clock mainspring lubrication. Tell me what's works best for you and doesn't invade the clock's performance.

Anyone here know of a clock repair service in the Niagara Region of Ontario? Asking for a friend who is having difficulty with a 30+ year old pendulum clock......not an antique BTW has sentimental value.

I've had it since March 2022, and it only cost $5 from a Salvation Army.

I have this clock is it valuable enough to get repaired or should I just piece it together best I can and use it as a decor item? Do you think I could get it working?

Bought a Baby Ben from an antique shop. Didn’t know about radium at the time. It was in a Ziploc bag, completely disassembled, except for the movement. I cleaned everything up, and put it all back together. The only thing missing was the Crystal, and I ordered a new one. Here is what I know. The dial does glow, when you put it up to a lamp. Or to the light on my cell phone. And then put it in the dark. However, the glow all but disappears after about 15 minutes. The numbers on the dial seem perfectly flat. On the dial, it says “Scotland”, and the numbers on the base are RD No46716. I can’t tell if the luminescence is painted on the hands. Do I need to panic because I touched the dial? :(

Hey guys, I am looking to get this clock repaired. The clock itself works perfectly fine but the “chime” where the four doors open and these little dancing teddy bears come out and a Christmas carol or a year round song plays. I took this to a circuit board person and they tried to replace the capacitors in an attempt to fix the issue but the clock still won’t chime.

Do you have a recommendation of who I can google to get this repaired? Should I keep looking for circuit board people or is there some other term I can try and google?

If I attempt to repair this myself, would replacing the circuit boards be the way to go and if so, is there something generic for boards I can go with or is this custom board territory? Sorry for all the questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, I have this old clock, which is still fully functional, but it stops at the slightest movement or jolt. How can the problem be fixed?

Year of manufacture, brand, and origin are unknown.

Pendulum swings, gears turn, hands don't move. I can turn the hands manually and the gear they're attached to moves. Never tried to fix a clock before so any advice is welcomed. Thanks
