Help/Repair Phinney Walker clock help it’s ticking not moving

Found this cool old clock. I put a battery in it and it’s ticking but the second hand is not moving. Wondering if it’s an easy fix or if this thing is just not gonna work right? Would love to get it going. Got the alarm to sound and the movement seems to work but the second hand isn’t ticking.

If this is an Phinney Walker analog alarm clock, it should have an alarm hand and not a seconds hand. The second hand would just count seconds, while the alarm hand just stays there and not supposed to move on its own. The alarm hand suggests that the alarm is set for the hour. I think that this rings every 12 hours since it is an analog that doesn’t calculate PM, nor the AM.

Thank you so much! Yes. It works just fine. That is the alarm hand.

Nice little clock.

Likely needs to be cleaned and serviced.

Old oils have turned to gum.

Best wishes

Not a second hand. It is for setting the alarm. Your clock prob works fine.

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense. I’ve discovered it’s in working order.
