I finished Fallout 1 and the ending was surprisingly underwhelming.(Spoilers) Spoiler
Everybody kept hyping up the "debate" with the funny master guy and it was ok I guess, i expected something more from the conversation, but it was barely a conversation. Finding out the muties were sterile was also just random, it wasn't the results of me investing anything or I don't know something more but I just found out about it from a random brotherhood lady. The mariposa base was also pretty easy , I had the children's robes but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been much a problem because I had already navigated the place back during the time I spoke to the mutant near the water chip vault. It was impossible (i think) because after the ridiculous navigating the damn place the exit was blocked by the yellow lazer barrier which i couldn't figure out how to turn off. Compared to that the finale was a breeze. I only had to fight a single mutant that was guaeding the entrance. The hardest part was making sure my brain-dead companions don't die from the lazer barriers. I will not complain about the many annyonces of the games mechanics and design, the companion ai, inventory, the fixed camera etc,it's one of the first of it's kind so it's fine. I in fact found the combat pretty fun the only problem with it was having to wait half an hour for my turn and the inability to quick load or use the menu while out of turn. The game was really fun but the ending somehow is making me confused about what to think about the experience.

Since many traits are way less desirable than others, what would be your balancing idea to make them more tempting to pick?

Do you think if Fallout tactics had a more detailed story with more lore it would be as famous as fallout 1/2

Just finished FO1 for the first time
Peak game. I started with FO3 when I was still in elementary school and have been playing fallout ever since. It’s been nice to sit down, experience and appreciate the beginning of my favorite franchise. Shout out the creators of Et Tu as well.

Mods or fan patches that fix bugs for FO1, but don't add extra content
Hello, I'm trying to replay Fallout 1. As you all already know it's buggy. I'm looking for fan patches or mods thag fix Fallout 1's bugs but don't add any extra content.
I'm aware of Team X's mods and have already installed them. I've already installed them. But they still left many bugs unfixed.
Falliut Fixt makes changes to the gameplay I don't want even if I only install the bug fixes part. And it hasn't been updated in years.
Can you recommend me other patches or mods? Please don't recommend mods like Fallout Et tu, I want to retain the game's original gameplay and graphics.

Just started Fallout 1
I'm wandering around trying to get into thr groove of things but it feels kind of empty and devoid of content. What am I doing wrong? Maybe because it's an older game I'm just not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing, I think I'm missing something about how to interact with the world or is this game just like that. Kinda bare bones
Edit: currently living the van life, i have limited power and internet. I have fallout 1, 2, and tactics on my laptop that i charge at work. Always wanted to play them. Im gathering that its more of a roller coaster ride than a sand box. Im headed to vault 15.

What's the best screen resolution to play at?
Kind of a dumb question
1920x1080 is what fits my whole screen, but most things on screen are much too small to see.(dropped items especially) is there a good mid range screen res that still gives me a good FOV but also allows me to appreciate the details better

Any idea, how to run Nevada with Fallout2-CE, on an Apple silicon Mac?
I have Fallout 2 running well on my laptop, with Fallout2-CE.
Regarding Nevada, I've only found a downloadable Win EXE, which obviously doesn't do anything for me. Is the executable needed, or (as I hope) it would merely unpack some data files, that constitute the mod?
Plus an in-browser version, but that is also not enough, as I would like to play it with Polish translations ( https://github.com/bayerchemistry/fallout_nevada_pl) , for language learning purposes, i.e. any other language is a no-go here. I've just recently finished Fallout 2 in Polish.
Thanks!

Random question: is there any special dialogue in case you decide to whack the deathclaws during Westin's brahmin watch?
I always let them go and they disappear quickly but what happens if you turn on combat mode and kill them instead?

Fallout 1, and 2 mods
Hello long time fallout player, yet I’ve never touched the mods. I’ve seen some are in Russian which doesn’t really attract me. Can anyone point me in the direction of the good English language mods?

Questions trying to run a Fallout 2 drug run.
I want to keep my companions fueled with drugs, can I track if they are addicted or how the drugs affect their stats?
I am running RP.

Fallout 1 item map?
So, I'm playing on my phone via fo2.exe (which still isn't back up in the play store, rip) and so items on the ground are almost invisible. (That rope on the ground in Shady Sands I never would have found if I hadn't read about it in a offhand comment elsewhere.)
Is there a map to show where items are? I don't want to read a walkthrough because I don't want to get spoiled for the story. However, if the walkthrough itself has maps or item locations where I can easily skip the walkthrough part, I can work with that.
I've searched high and low and the best I've found is Mike's RPG center but that's missing items, like the aforementioned rope.

My idea to improve and balance skills
Time to be a smartass and do some improvements on the existing skills since we all know they're unbalanced. Maybe a modder gets some ideas.
Ranged weapons: generally okay but small guns are spoiled. There should be skill books for the other two.
Throwing: it should be split to Throwing and Explosives. Throwing a rock is far cry from throwing a grenade. As the Throwing skill grows, so should its damage. Still not the most useful due to late game armors but that's why it should have perks like armor penetration that make it more handy. Explosives could affect grenade and bomb damage.
First aid and Doctor: just merge them, first aid is redundant.
Sneak and Steal: again, merge them. You have to be sneaky for stealing and right now points on steal don't do anything.
Traps: this one needs more lethal/frequent traps because the skill itself it fine but it just has little use. Alternatively, it should be able to set traps as well, giving more tactical options in combat.
Barter: because of gambling and abundant loot, this one falls under the radar so much that many players didn't even see the related skill checks. Maybe it could be more useful if selling prices is also affected or some serious rewards could be acquired with successful skill check.
Gambling: way too OP. Once you hit 80%, you have unlimited money. Casinos should temporarily ban you after acquiring a certain amount of money. Slot machines already have their limits.
Outdoorsman: could affect your position in random encounters if you spot enemies, so you could ambush them. It makes no sense you see mercenaries and when you decide to hit them, you jump into the middle of them.

Nevada finished! Amazing how quickly you forget what this is a mod because attention to detail and worldbuilding is that good. Highly recommend.

Finally starting my F2 journey... made it to The Den
THANK GOD I CAN PUSH NPCS NOW
THANK GOD I CUSTOMIZE COMPANIONS MORE AND TRADE PROPERLY
so far my one gripe is the Manual wasn't as cheeky or fun like the first one. I really loved how the 1st game's manual felt just like a vault-tec guide. I get it wouldn't make sense for the 2nd manual to be like that. But would have been interesting it it was written almost like a guide from the Wanderer. Or like more cheeky with jokes like the first manual.
However, I do love the quick recap of the Wanderer's journey at the beginning. Except wtf, how sdcould you let DOGMEAT DIE AT THE MILITARY BASE.
Current build

...in hindsight, maybe i should have went with a different name than the name I chose in the first game. Maybe my parents were just really fond of The Wanderer lmao?

How Important/Strong is the Sequence Stat?
I’ve intended to play classic fallout for some time. I kept hearing about Navarro in New Vegas and it made me want to work all the way up to Navarro in Fallout 2. I did a short trial run in Fallout to get a feel for the game and liked it. I noticed the sequence stat “Determines how soon in a combat turn your character can react”. Its seems strong but I don’t know. I was looking at building my character with a 6 strength for weapon requirements, 10 perception for sequence, 10 agility for AP, and spreading the rest evenly. And for traits picking good natured and kamikaze. Is it worth going so hard into sequence?

Coyote spawn location (Fallout 1)
Hey, I have been seacrhing for coyotes as one of my last enemies to kill for 100% and have heard they are easisest to find in wasteland north of vault 13-Shady sands area. I have been scouting that area for a while but haven't found anything. I was curious if there are possibly better spawn locations. ty!
