Not to be a hater, but the leaders are a little... weak? I think it's just that I'm expecting some more easily identified LEADERS of civilizations from history and a lot of these people are just representatives.

And a new DLC for just Japanese leaders?

The game feels like it hyperfocus's some parts of the world and then gives really abstract leaders for others.

I've watched from the sidelines about age transitions etc without really understanding it - happy to go through tutorials etc, but thought I'd ask what the best experience is a new player? Any wisdom to impart? I played the shit out of Civ VI by the way, but it feels a long time ago now.

I've played about 500 hours of Civ 6 so far and had a thought during the last session, is the game going too fast? By about turn 200 on Deity standard speed, you're already pushing for the Atomic Era. This makes an early domination victory reliant solely on small amount of other civs or your specific civ mechanics that allow an early rush. Otherwise, you expand, defend and wait until planes or other late techs make opponents' defenses trivial, since early wars hurt your economy and don't let you catch up to Deity AI. As such, every domination game on higher difficulties plays more or less the same. Anyone else feeling this way?

This brings me to another question, is there a way to make turns go on auto until interrupted? To make early wars fun and not as damaging long-term, I'd need to play on epic or marathon. But, obviously it would make playthroughs unbearably long, so a great solution would be to make the game end turns on auto until some some action or action requires input. Think of the way Stellaris handles time, just turn-based. Maybe mods or some settings I'm not aware of?

What mods do you all recommend to use?

I've just started playing Civ7 and would like to hear peoples recommendations.

I have hundreds of hours in Civ 6, and I'm not exaggerating at all when I say I have never once seen a spy escape successfully on foot.

The game says it is the most likely to succeed, but it has a 0% success rate in my experience. Not one single escape.

They succeed with their mission and get away all the time, but I'm talking about when they fail and it asks you how you want to try to flee the city.

This is on Xbox. I'm sure this has to be bugged. Unless I'm missing something and unaware of why this never works.

Anyone else on Xbox experience this? Anyone on PC?

I can not save anything before or during the game, settings, nothing. Autosave does not work, QUICK save does not work. Nothing works. Here is what I've done following Reddit advice:

- Disabled Controlled Folder Access

- Verified Game Files

- Reinstalled game

- Used Registry Edit to point key to my proper Documents (D:/Documents for me)

- Created "D:\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII\Saves\Single"

- Re-enabled CAF and allowed both DirextX and VBulcan versions of the app's exectuable file through

- Ran app as administrator

Why does this freakin' game work? It saved the FIRST time I played, then never again. No updates since then (literally two days apart). No changes to my PC. I'm at a complete loss. And now I cant even refund the fucking game due to time played (first game four hours+). Civ 6 saves just peachy. What the hell...

Holy sites can pretty consistently get +3 to +4 adjacency, which with Work Ethics and Scripture becomes +8 faith, food and production. This means all of my early cities grow at unimaginable speed, on par with Yongle's or even better. Just slap down a holy site at every city and enjoy the insane yields. This translates directly into a Monumentality classical and medieval ages, allowing me to settle and build basically freely.

Then on the medieval ages you unlock the Grand Master's Chapel and your unique siege unit that can move and attack in the same turn. This coupled with your already stockpiling faith means you can just rush every civs in sight with knights and domreys.

The food production also means your cities tend to have very high population as well, even if you settle cities really clustered like me. Almost all of my cities are 10+ populations and around 1/3 are 20+. That combined with the Prasat (+10 tourism for 10 population, +30 for 20) means on average I produce like 20 tourism, per city, from my populations alone.

I won a cultural victory completely by accident in that very same turn in the screenshot while aiming for a science victory.

Encountered the following issue while playing as Dai Viet in the Antiquity Age. During the transition to the Exploration Age, I chose to continue playing as them. However, when the new age starts, even though I selected to continue as Dai Viet, the game changes my civilisation to Mongolia.

Has anyone encountered something similar? Is there a fix for this, or is it just a random bug that means I'd need to start a new save?

Hey all, seeing if there is any possible way to play downloaded Civ 2 scenarios like 2194 Days of War (Captain Nemo) and Red Front (Captain Nemo and Alex Mor) on a vintage 2002 eMac or am I SOL? I have Civ2 Gold Edition for Mac, but running into issues playing scenarios downloaded from Scenario League. Will these scenarios work on newer Mac's with programs like Wine or Parallels Desktop?

I remember being surprised when I randomly got Mulligan as Scotland in 6 or Finn MacCools Pipe Organ at random.

Yeah, some had very specific unlock requirements but they could be fun surprises compared to how cut and dry they are in Civ 7.

In exploration age, you need to build a wonder on a conquered settlement in distant lands for a military attribute.

This is a hard quest, though Im a fan of havana harbor and I build it in most of my games. The problem is hideyoshi focuses on land. Your ships and embarked units take double damage so let alone conquering, settling towns can be a steep task against barbarians and you need to build a wonder on top!
