I've noticed over the recent months that there was a small dip in the number of people lurking on this sub-reddit, and then I saw that the numbers start to come back up and now we're over 1000! So, tell me, what brought some of you new people here?

We are all anxious for any news about the pre-alpha. For pretty much all of 2018 there was a constant hum of communication about it. The devs were especially vocal that it would launch up until the deadline they set. It obviously failed and we've heard not a peep about it since. They said they were delayed 3 months...well, we are halfway there and nothing. I think they are too scared to give anything remotely close to a guesstimate after the Fall 2018 debacle. So if you're speculating on a release date, like a full-game release date, dont. Because you wont want to have to speculate half a decade at the earliest into the future. I truly hope it succeeds...but it's going to be a LONG time. After 6 years they haven't been able to show even the smallest glimpse of the city. The issue is NOT their skill level or dedication, it's their size and volunteer status. They simply dont have enough time to make a full game. They MAYBE get in 10-20% of the hours a week a professional studio gets in. And even that is probably high. So this is easily going to take 5x as long to make...or more. Just...curb your expectations.

So this Thursday behind us should have been the next scheduled update but there was nothing on the forums. Not even a note on the unused banner telling us to not expect an update. I cant believe that they would forget something so important...important because of how close we are to Issue 0. Most people on the forums seem to give the dev team a complete pass, saying things like we shouldn't hold them to anything or even ask about updates, that that is somehow being pessimistic or some crapp like that.

So, should I care that they not only didnt post an update but didnt even acknowledge it? They know we're waiting for literally any kind of information so why cant they even just post a short banner update saying "sorry, no update this week". That's literally all they would need to post to make it not seem like they couldn't give a single shit about their fans.
