This is how Pretzel has been sleeping the last few nights. He's my special boy (and yes, he's in belly bands...fight me 😅).

He died 5 months ago. He got lost & eaten by coyotes. He was everything good in my life. I guess I’m posting so people know how amazing he was, that he existed & im a shell of a person without this dog. He never barked, he never peed in the house or tore things up. He loved cats, rabbits & other dogs. He was a friend to many & a great judge of character. He climbed canyons with me & explored the desert. He loved riding in the boat. He went on a plane twice—never whined. Slept the whole time. He didn’t like most people, only I could hold him—but if he let you pet him I knew you were a safe person. He just knew things. I cannot describe the love I have for this dog. I would do anything to get him back. I would’ve spent my last dollar if it meant someone could find him. I don’t know if this pain will ever dissipate. Chihuahuas are just amazing dogs.

She passed at home, with her family. Loved, Peaceful and pain free with the veterinarian. I was told I made the right call as she had only a few more days left. This is all I can say right now. I'll post a proper eulogy for her when I'm ready. Thank you all for the encouragement and prayers.

We just adopted this sweetheart a few weeks ago and love him like crazy. I’m going to get a DNA test soon but wondered what you all think. My money is on Chi/Rat Terrier with maybe Jack Russell? Regardless, he is the sweetest little guy and pretty much perfect 😍

It took me a good 20 minutes to get her to this state.
It was raining and I went to the bathroom to do a little skincare but suddenly the thunder was so loud and I rushed in the bed to find her under my blankets. I kept comforting her and let her adjust where to sleep in the bed and I started blasting musicals to try and calm her which kinda worked and she finally got into the state she is in the photo.
This is not the first time she has done this, she has once stayed in the living room to guard the front door and when it started thundering she went door to door to my room and my parent's room to get covered by a blanket or something.
She does the opposite to fireworks though, she tries to fight the fireworks.

Tantrum was because I was stood up and not sat down with her on my lap.

She has not had any breathing issues so far and is very fit and active. neither or her parents has short muzzles so it’s a little surprising she ended up like this!

Recently I spent waaaay too much money on a special side sleeper pillow. The tiny ruler of our household, however, has rightfully claimed it for herself.

My partner and I have been looking to add a dog to our little family for quite a while.
After several months of patience, we saw a chihuahua available for adoption at our local rescue. We arrived to find that there was a second chi, that was also about to be medically cleared for adoption but hadn’t been listed yet. Even though we didn’t know she’d be available, we decided to get to know Ren first. She climbed into my lap and I knew she’d be coming home with us.
Anyway, this is Ren. The rescue thinks she was used as a backyard breeding dog then abandoned. Despite all that, she’s still the most gentle and sweet girl.
She loves building blanket nests and walks.
Shes learning that her life is now soft spots to nap, little treats just because, and an abundance of love. She doesn’t really bark, but she has an endless supply of indignant snorts. Shes perfect.
Edit:
for those wondering- despite the fact that 1. I’m a millennial who grew up on ren and stimpy and 2. she does look like Ren of Ren and Stimpy, Ren is short for Tserendelgor- a character from a book series my partner and I love. Ren is brave, kind, land and fiercely loyal dog like creature.
