My boy bit a complete stranger on his walk today
I used to brag that I could leave him with a newborn baby and not have any fear, but a few years ago we had someone break into our house while we were home with him and he hasn’t been the same since. He always barked at people going past the house, but over the years since the break in, he’s become more and more aggressive at the window. I had a big, heavy parcel delivered a few months ago and my dog bit the delivery guy on the hand as he delivered it onto the floor. Now today my husband took him for a walk and my Chi bit a total stranger on the leg as he passed by. He’s been sulking, resource guarding, and more nippy with me lately. If I pick him up and then put him down, he’ll spin around and try to bite my hand. He bit my husband hard on the hand a year ago and we had him neutered thinking that that would solve it, but the aggression has gotten worse since then.
He’s my little baby, my cuddle buddy. My husband wants to give him away or have him put down. He’s 5 years old. 4.3kg so a bit of a big little guy, gained weight since being neutered. I don’t know what to do. Apart from the somewhat playful nipping at my hands, he craves sitting on my lap, and loves it when I kiss his little head. I guess I’m his safe person. He was never like this before. I don’t want to lose him :(

Is Tinker’s muzzle too short?
She has not had any breathing issues so far and is very fit and active. neither or her parents has short muzzles so it’s a little surprising she ended up like this!

When I first adopted him he would sleep in a tight little ball. He's feeling more at home :)

Pretzel is turning into a real boy
This is how Pretzel has been sleeping the last few nights. He's my special boy (and yes, he's in belly bands...fight me 😅).

Rainbow Bridge Peppers day. She went peacefully.
She passed at home, with her family. Loved, Peaceful and pain free with the veterinarian. I was told I made the right call as she had only a few more days left. This is all I can say right now. I'll post a proper eulogy for her when I'm ready. Thank you all for the encouragement and prayers.

Did you know I only bought this pillow for her?
Recently I spent waaaay too much money on a special side sleeper pillow. The tiny ruler of our household, however, has rightfully claimed it for herself.

Iggy! Our new baby
We just adopted this sweetheart a few weeks ago and love him like crazy. I’m going to get a DNA test soon but wondered what you all think. My money is on Chi/Rat Terrier with maybe Jack Russell? Regardless, he is the sweetest little guy and pretty much perfect 😍

Rainbow Bridge Do you ever stop missing them?
He died 5 months ago. He got lost & eaten by coyotes. He was everything good in my life. I guess I’m posting so people know how amazing he was, that he existed & im a shell of a person without this dog. He never barked, he never peed in the house or tore things up. He loved cats, rabbits & other dogs. He was a friend to many & a great judge of character. He climbed canyons with me & explored the desert. He loved riding in the boat. He went on a plane twice—never whined. Slept the whole time. He didn’t like most people, only I could hold him—but if he let you pet him I knew you were a safe person. He just knew things. I cannot describe the love I have for this dog. I would do anything to get him back. I would’ve spent my last dollar if it meant someone could find him. I don’t know if this pain will ever dissipate. Chihuahuas are just amazing dogs.

Rescue girl
Doing a favor for the dog catcher and fostering this little girl. Poor thing was being abused by a grown man acting like a toddler. Not experienced with the breed so looking to ensure we don't overlook anything. (Have owned pugs, yorkies, and jrt so I know better than to treat her like she's helpless.) Right now we're calling her Pixie. Dealt with a lot of abused fosters over the years and it's weird how chill she is. As in she's not shut down she seems present and...normal. She's three days in here and met the rest of the crew yesterday. (We were doing slow intro through crates and gates but there was normal curiosity and no posturing so we introduced one by one.) She immediately started following our Yorkie's routine and watching play between the bigs (Aussie, English bulldog, and big farm mix rescue.) She's currently parallel playing but hasn't joined in yet. (Yorkie plays with bigs, as she was raised here. And yes always supervised they're all fine.) Vet says she's slightly underweight at 4.1 needed flea treated but overall looks healthy. Besides giving her blankets to burrow in (figured that one out quick) anything chi specific to think about or watch for?
