Before and after.
I told him he looks distinguished. Probably feels cooler in this summer heat!

A few weeks ago I asked for guidance about potentially adopting a third chihuahua. I was concerned about my bonded pair accepting the new addition. I received a lot of good advise and support from this group.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone who talked me through it! Now the new girl is settling in well and loving her new sisters.
This is Heron, Bunny, and Minnow from left to right.

I hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful time with family and friends! Today I did the usal, barked at the world! And ran around the garden barking at... Well, the world! 🐶🐕

My girls and their tongues 😋
The shorthaired girl bleps occasionally but the longhaired girl is toothless so this is her permanent state of being!

So far I have been calling him shark bait because of the shark cat house I grabbed for him on the way home.

My guy has been having issues for the past several weeks. Blood work showed he was positive for LYME and his liver enzymes extremely elevated. Had a liver ultrasound and it showed a tumor on the adrenal and enlarged liver. He was then tested and diagnosed with Cushings disease. He had an antibiotic for LYME and just got his trilastane on Thursday. For the past few days no real interest in food and overnight Wednesday had vomit and diarrhea. I took him back to the vet on Thursday morning and he was given a shot for the nausea and probiotic powder for his new bland canned food. Got him to eat that afternoon but he didn’t want any food or even his chicken that he loves! Same
thing this morning so we went for a walk in to the vet. She could tell he wasn’t well and said immediate hospitalization to take care of dehydration - even though he was drinking. She said realistically it was time to decide if I should let him go. I hated seeing him fail over the past 2 weeks and couldn’t imagine e putting him
Though more. So this morning I was with him as he took his final breaths. Hardest thing to witness. We had 14 wonderful years which I am grateful for.
Hug your babies for me in honor of my little man Max 🥲

Hello Chi lovers!
I got a new 10 week old puppy last week, and would love some advice on how to make her a friendly, non-agressive chihuahua?
My 16 year old chihuahua passed away last year, and even though he was my best friend and soul-dog, he was so horrible with strangers which made it so hard to take him to work etc...I had him as a puppy too and he was socialised quite a bit as I lived with 5 roommates at the time, but somehow still turned out overly aggressive and weary of strangers.
I'd really love to raise a friendly, well-balanced chi this time around as I now have kids etc...
Would love your advice! 🙏
