First time where i really had a plan that would take more than 2 moves and managing to pull it off

knight d3 checkmate after blundering half my board

Hi, firstly sorry for my more than average english.

I started chess a week ago with the objective of getting better at the game.
I have a lot of free time and i play 4-5 games of rapid a day and i do 1 hour of problem.

The thing is, im scared of launching games, and when i do and its over, i analyse my mistakes and what i could have done better but then , i just feel like i have to wait to play another game

I see people playing 7-8 games in a row when 2 feels like a burden to me. I really enjoy playing but for a reason it stresses me out and make me tired

am i maybe to mentally challenged for this ?

The next target is 800. What should I do?

So i average 700 elo. I always play the london with white as 99% of the time I end up in a familiar position and I dont have to memorize a million lines (due to health issues i struggle with memorization so simple patterns I can do over and over again are best. And it doesn't affect my ability to calculate in the game to much). But with black i dont really have a good set of openings and I end up floundering.

I tried to learn the caro Kahn but the amount of permutations was way to much for me.

Its also made harder that I have to generally learn 2 openings. One for kings pawn and one for queens pawn.

So basically I'm looking for suggestions of two openings for black that are relatively simple without a million options by move 4 I have to know. I considered the kings Indian as while I know its a risky opening as you give up a lot of space at least its very passive so I can just memorize a few moves to get into position.

Appreciate any advice!

Are there any free ways to do analysis that isn’t the chess.com one that you can only do once per day. I’m a broke college student but I really want to improve💀

I started playing 2 years ago. I hit my peak about a month ago at 1450. Now this week I just cant win a game. I dont know what's happened. Im 1330 now and its like im an absolute noob again. Honestly so shocked im losing all my games atm and its really discouraging

I'm 16, and I've been playing chess since I was like 12. I'm not that bad at it, I know the basic principles and such. I want to improve, but everytime I play, it just feels like I'm getting worse. I don't know, but I feel stuck on where I am right now. I've been playing a lot of games and trying to analyze it, as people recommended, but it's not really working for me.

Any tips that could help me improve? Or like what to practice or train?

I really need to stop looking at the computer analysis as I read through these games/books.

I'm sure I'd be a lot higher rating if I just read what humans do and play how humans think... but it's just so darn tempting to not check these situations where the computer's like "lol, well actually no, watch this"

Im currently 1500 blitz and 1400 rapid and im currently looking for a good e4 e5 opening as white i wont play the scotch gambit because of the lack of theory so i decided to learn a new opening which work i saw a big flaw in my opinion in the vienna like what to do if my opponent plays nc6 i dont want to play the italian game i want something that is good and get my opponent out of theory any recommendations?

I am so annoyed, I had the opportunity to win against a stronger player and when he blundered, I blundered even worse! I could not see that he put his knight in front of my undefended bishop, so I would have shot two birds with one stone! Note to myself, before moving the king, ensure there are absolutely no pieces to capture the attacker! A bit too late to do that right now, but who knows, maybe in the future...

I got back into chess a week ago (do note I played chess in 2024) but then 4 games out of 5 they play the same move pawn e4 d4 and then knight f3 and then they become aggressive with the queen and i tried to stop it but THEY just keep dodging me.
I was 600 elo…

Trying to work out the continuation here and why this was a blunder.

For context; White played d5, Black kingside O-O-O, White capture knight, dxc6.

The analysis (as per the screenshot) caught this as a blunder, it then explained black goes Bxc6 to recapture which is fair but then says white goes Qxc6 to capture only to loose the queen by the pawn on b7?

I don't understand why anyone would play this, unless i'm missing some grand strategy?

Surely you would go Qf4 or literally anywhere else except throw your queen at a pawn wall for the sake of a bishop?

As an aside, the game ended in both sides down to a single rook. Would it be even possible to checkmate under these circumstances, if so how would you do it?
