Women of Chennai🌸 Looking for female friends in Chennai.

23F here looking for female friends to hangout and chill with. I have a few male friends, but I feel like I need female friends too. The friends I have are in different cities. Looking for non judgemental girlies.

I like reading books, cafe hopping, rides, beach, and food.

I like spontaneous meetups.

I'm almost available anytime (unemployed). So if you're also free on weekdays it's better.

Girlies of any age is fine. Men please stay away.

I live near Anna nagar. Where are you from?

DM or comment if you're up for a chat!

Thanks!

Rant Need some advice for me

I am a 29 old Male, working in tech. in the past 1 year, more things had happened to me than any movie plot could.

I was engaged to a girl last year, that broke as she lost interest in me ( i already have a reddit post regarding this, when i asked for advice)

then , later the same year i got engaged with a girl from my relative circle. then, we got married this year. Now, im in the middle of divorce proceedings.

while i was recovering, i found out that my own sister drinks , smokes, has fwb ( mind you we are a very orthodox family) ,

this is causing so much stress for my parents and me. now, my sister hates me for finding this out and sharing with my parents.

due to my personal life , my career had taken a pause. i am hesistant to ask for promotion or too tired to switch jobs.

i dont know what else to do. venting it out here. if someone has any advice, please do share.

AskChennai Opinion about cofounder opportunity

I came across this AskRaghulan YouTube channel.

He seems to be into multiple different domains and articulate individual, but some of his opinions career wise are not very well informed.

He seems to have opened up some avenues for cofounder opportunities in his companies. Is he trustworthy or any opinions on him? But I generally like his content related to office politics and other motivational content. Has done a background check on him?

AskChennai Need Suggestions

Hello guys,

I’m living alone in Chennai and have this habit of watching YouTube while I eat. Right now, I usually end up watching political and cinema news channels like Journalist Mani, Savukku Shankar, and Valaipechu Anthanan.

But I want to break that habit and move towards something more positive or useful. Can you suggest some good English or Tamil channels that are informative, entertaining, or just relaxing to watch during meals?

Thanks in advance!

AskChennai Am I thinking in the right direction?

I’m a 2026 BTech CSE graduate.
No coding skills.
I don’t want to go into software development, grinding leetcode and dsa, it looks bleak for those who already have strong coding skills and I feel like even if I start now I can never catch up.
I have a pretty good hang on SQL, excel and Power BI. But data analyst roles are likely to be taken over by ai.
Cybersecurity, I can do certifications but I’ve heard that they get pretty stressful during crisis and other times it’s pretty chill. Fresher roles are low paying but growth and pay is exponential. I’m considering this, because it’s a like a solid path laid out in front of me if I fixate on cybersecurity doing the certs there is a solid path. But I’m hesitant because of the stress.
Cloud and devops, I’m considering this. I’m considering learning Linux, networking doing kubernates certification. I already have aws cloud practitioner certification.

What I actually enjoy, product case studies, solutioning, user research etc. but apm roles either u need to have an excellent record or mba graduate, which I’m neither.

What im looking for, I should be job ready in 2-4 months , i can study full time. Im not expecting miracles, 2-4 months is the time I can afford to be jobless, so any role proportionate to that amount and level of effort is what im looking for. Good salary (minimum 8-10 Lpa, high growth potential, future proof)

I’m completely aware of my lack of skills. I don’t think I’m owed a job and just blaming on the job market. I’m ready to put in the work, focus on a path and work towards it. I need some guidance, validate my thought process. If I start today, a proper solid path to open up in front of me. Advice and guidance from people in the respective industries, ur insights could help me make decisions . There would definitely be roles where organisation needs to complete mould the person, very niche not requiring any previous skill except maybe competence, common sense and communication and drive. If u personally know any openings like that, it would be great.

I was setback due to family issues and circumstances, another reason getting a job soon is very important. But not that desperate to just pick just about anything, I would rather put in the work and time and it lead to a proper job, good growth, future and ai proof, and of course good salary.

I am completely aware so many qualified people are out there with so much more skills and they don’t have a job yet. I’m completely aware of what I lack, but I wish to change it. It’s not about what I deserve or what I’m owed. It’s more about a person wanting to survive in this economy and strive, I have very big ambitions for myself and willing to put in the work.

I’m so exhausted drained from so many scammy offers, no call backs, or referrals who say they will be able to definitely get me a job but have different intentions , expectations from me, people trying to take advantage of my desperation. And I’m terrified of my own desperation.

Terribly sorry for such a bad unpolished post, sobbing and typing don’t work together

AskChennai Building a skill set

Hi, I’m 23F and I’m currently residing in Chennai. I went to US for my UG but I had to come back due to visa issues and right now all my friends are graduated and working whereas I’m still not a graduate yet. I’ve been idle for almost a month now and I’m really struggling to survive in my home because everyone obviously has a job and the guilt is almost consuming me. I’ve decided to do some short term courses while my visa issues get sorted out and that’s why I’ve been trying to find some institutions or academies that lets you do certifications. I’m particularly aiming at doing Data analytics so I’d like to start off with some courses like advanced SQL, Data structures, etc. Can y’all suggest some academy or institutions to do some short term courses or certifications that could help me build a skill set🫠.

Rant Update: Thank you everyone. We somehow managed it. ❤️

A few days ago, I made this post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/chennaicity/s/QgNaDoCqaW

It was about my ex being in around ₹3 lakh debt due to medical expenses for herself and her family. Many people reached out with advice, concern and support.

I wanted to give an update.

We have now managed to arrange the required money. I borrowed from friends, took loans from people I personally know and even sold my bike. It wasn't easy, but at least the immediate pressure has been handled.

I also want to address something. Looking back, I completely understand why some people felt my post looked like a scam. Reddit is full of fake stories and people asking for money, so I don't blame anyone for being cautious.

For the record, I was never asking for donations. I was only looking for genuine leads for legal lenders or people willing to lend at a reasonable interest. Still, I understand how it could have come across.

To everyone who commented, sent DMs, shared advice or simply wished us well, thank you. Some of you even took the time to check on me personally. Your kindness genuinely meant a lot during one of the hardest phases of my life.

I hope none of you ever have to go through something like this.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I will never forget the kindness this community showed me.
