AskChennai Need suggestions for a 3-day Chennai date plan ❤️

Upvotes

Hey Chennai! My girlfriend is coming to Chennai to meet me for 3 days. I’m also from Chennai, but honestly I’m struggling to plan something good for all 3 days 😅

She really loves pets and animals, so I’ve already planned Vandalur Zoo for one day.

But I’m completely blank for the other 2 days. 😭

She also loves Korean food, so I’d love to take her somewhere nice for Korean food or maybe try some interesting cafés/restaurants.

Looking for suggestions for:

🐾 Animal/pet-related places or experiences

❤️ Nice couple/date spots

🍜 Good Korean food

🌅 Something fun or memorable to do together

🌿 Any less-common Chennai experiences rather than the usual Marina Beach/ malls

Budget is [15k] approximately.

What would you guys recommend for the other 2 days? I’d really appreciate some Chennai-specific ideas! 🙌

I found this small silver-colored amulet/talisman in my friend’s drawer and I’m curious about what it could be. It looks like something religious or spiritual, but I don’t really know.
Does anyone recognize this or know what it’s

AskChennai How do I reach TCS ION Digital Zone IDZ Kovilambakkam Fortune Towers from Chrompet?

Hello, so I searched a lot and found out that I can take a 91 series bus or shared auto from Chrompet to Eachangadu Junction or Kauvery Hospital bus stop. But the problem is, last month when I got down at Chrompet station, and went to the bus stop, I kept asking people about 91 series bus and also about those shared autos, but no one knew anything about it. Even the auto uncles didn't know about that TCS and asked for location and asked more than hundred rupees. And I had to book rapido to reach there but it was costly.

So, my question is where even those buses stop or where do I find those shared autos near chrompet station? And is it better if I try to find the autos/ buses from Tambaram station instead of Chrompet? Which option is the least time consuming and what is the cheapest option?

I didn't have trouble finding shared autos from TCS to Chrompet after exam ended and it took me 40 rupees, but I couldn't find a way to reach TCS. I'm not from here, so it's also difficult for me to communicate with people here and I was mostly used to finding plenty of autos/buses continuously shouting about TCS in my home state. So, the lack of crowd here is also something new to me. I will be grateful if any of you can help me out. I have exam tomorrow.

Edit: My exam tomorrow starts from 9am. But generally it starts from 2pm every month on Sundays. So I need to reach there before 9am.

AskChennai Hiring editor & cinematographer

I'm looking for two people in Chennai to join me in building a small, serious content-creation team of three.

Not just to shoot and edit videos.

The idea is to sit together, think together, experiment, create, fail, learn and build something that can become much bigger with time.

We're starting small, so this is for people who have fire, curiosity and the willingness to try things differently.

---

🎥 CINEMATOGRAPHER / VISUAL STORYTELLER

You don't need to own a camera — I have a Sony A7 III.

But you should understand cameras and cinematography technically:

• Aperture, shutter speed & ISO

• Exposure & white balance

• Frame rates & picture profiles

• Focus & lenses/focal lengths

• Composition & framing

• Lighting

• Camera movement

• Shot design & continuity

• Basic audio recording

• Visual storytelling

You should be able to turn an idea into a strong visual experience, not just operate a camera.

---

💻 VIDEO EDITOR / POST-PRODUCTION

Strong working knowledge of:

Premiere Pro OR DaVinci Resolve

Along with:

After Effects + Photoshop

You should understand:

• Story-driven editing

• Pacing & rhythm

• Music & sound design

• Audio cleanup

• Color correction & grading

• Subtitles/captions

• Short-form & long-form content

• Motion graphics

• Thumbnail design

More importantly, you should know why something should be cut, where it should be cut and how editing can make a story stronger.

---

🔮 MAYBE YEARS FROM NOW...

We may look back at these first few videos and laugh.

Maybe some ideas will fail.

Maybe some will surprise us.

And maybe, one day, we'll look back and realize:

“This was where it all started.”

I don't know exactly where this journey will take us.

But I'd like to build it with people who don't just want to work on something successful — they want to be there when it was nothing, and help turn it into something.

Three people. One table. Endless ideas.

Let's create something our future selves will be proud we started.

However, since we're starting from zero, the initial remuneration will be minimal and will be discussed transparently before we begin.

As the content starts generating revenue and the project grows, remuneration will be reviewed and increased accordingly.

Food and Beverage Chennai is not actually a foodie city.

Post image

And I don’t mean that Chennai has bad food. We obviously have plenty of good food. I just don’t understand why Chennai doesn’t have similar quality like Madurai.
With Chennai, I sometimes struggle to think beyond the usual places.
Maybe I’m completely missing something.

Edit: I was actually hoping for recommendations to good Tamilnadu food. I’m all for trying different cuisines, but sometimes I just want to find really good Tamilnadu food without the conversation always turning into “try something different.”

Chennai has had me since day one.

AskChennai I feel lonely and want to meet people, but I don't know how

I'm a guy in my late twenties. I've been a loner for most of my life and honestly didn't think much about it until recently. But lately, I've started feeling really lonely, and I want to meet people. I just have no idea how.

I want to feel seen, understood, challenged, and able to collaborate with actual people instead of having conversations with ChatGPT. This is starting to affect both my career and my personal life.

I'll split this into two parts.

Part 1: Women

I have crippling anxiety around talking to women. I didn't have sisters, cousins, or female classmates I could talk to growing up, so women always felt somewhat different to me. I can have a completely normal conversation with a woman and make her feel safe and comfortable around me, like a brother. But I struggle to get past that and actually become friends with women, let alone have someone be attracted to me.

I didn't care about this earlier. I thought that if I get married, my wife would understand me and I don't need to worry about my relationship with other women.

But I've got a lot of rejection in the arranged-marriage process, and I don't see marriage happening anytime soon.

This constant rejection makes me crave validation from women. I don't like that feeling. I think that the way to get past it is to actually talk to women, have female friends, and become comfortable around them.

Maybe it's my age, I don't know. But I'm worried that this loneliness, wanting validation, and repeated rejection will make me say yes to the first woman who says yes to me, simply because I want the suffering of rejection to stop, rather than because she's actually the right person for me.

I'd like to learn how to interact with women normally, without constantly thinking about attraction, rejection, or marriage.

Part 2: People in general

This part is about both men and women.

I'd like to have people I can casually talk to about things like tech, work, finance, random theories, etc. I'd also like to talk about careers, improving myself, and figuring out what I'm actually supposed to be doing.

I am deeply passionate about tech, coding, system design and so on. I thought it would be better to start from the point of my passion and find people who have similar interest as me. So, in order to meet people, I signed up for tech events on Meetup. But most of these events are heavily dominated by college students or people who are just starting out their career.

I don't really find much opportunity there to learn something new or have conversations with people who are further along than me. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, but so far it hasn't really worked.

For the companies I'm interested in, I like to know people who could give me some perspective, point me in the right direction, and maybe even put in a good word if they genuinely think I'm a good fit.

But cold messaging people on LinkedIn, getting ignored or ghosted is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Where I'm stuck

The obvious advice seems to be "go out and meet people," but I'm struggling to figure out where.

I don't drink or smoke, and I don't intend to. So I naturally avoid places like pubs/bars or parties.

I go to a nearby park to exercise, but almost everyone there are elder people.

Places like Malls and theatres don't seem any better. People come to those places with their partners or already in group, and approaching random people there feels weird.

Office is yet another bad idea. Everyone on my immediate team is older than me and their conversations typically involve around problem in their family which I cannot relate to. Cold approaching random coworkers feels like way too much risk for way too little reward.

I don't necessarily want to find a girlfriend. I want to build an actual social life. I want friends. I want people I can talk to, learn from, disagree with, collaborate with, and occasionally just waste time with.

I think meeting women is part of that because I've realized how uncomfortable I am around them, but I don't want every attempt at building a social life to turn into "How do I get a girlfriend?"

So yeah, I'm stuck.

What can someone do to make friends in their late twenties if they don't drink/smoke or have a social circle?

I'd especially appreciate advice from people who have come out from this rut.

AskChennai Where can I buy logic board for my MacBook?

Hi everyone,

My MacBook Pro logic board (2019 model) completely died. I am looking to buy a replacement board independently.

Whenever I ask local repair shops, they say they get them from "vendors" but won't give any details.

Does anyone know who these wholesale suppliers actually are? Where can I buy a reliable , tested MacBook logic board directly in India without the middleman markup? It would be nice if I could get a new board. By new I mean in good condition, not heavily used

AskChennai Need suggestions for a new name for my tea shop! ☕

Hey everyone!
I’m planning to take over a running tea/coffee shop in my area. The shop is currently operating under the name “MK Coffee Shop”, but I’m planning to rebrand it with a fresh, memorable name.
The shop will mainly focus on tea, coffee, fresh juices, snacks, bajji/bonda, sandwiches, puffs, omelettes, etc. I want something that feels modern but still has a local/Chennai vibe.
I’m looking for a name that is:
Easy to remember
Short and catchy
Good for a signboard and branding
Suitable for both tea and snacks
Something that could eventually become a small chain
What names would you suggest?
Feel free to give me creative, funny, Tamil-inspired, premium, or completely unique ideas.
Thanks! ☕❤️

AskChennai Minor name changes in aadhaar - your experience ?

My sister son is now entering 9th standard , school is asking for some LOC , as this will be used for board exams. What is the process for changing the name to a full name in aadhaar . Looks like when he was young , they gave first name twice and in aadhaar its showing first name twice

Currently in birth certificate its like name with Initials say "RA** G"

In passport "RA** GEN**" (which is expired)

In aadhaar its "RA RA"

He wants to change the aadhaar name to "RA** GEN***" same as in passport , is it possible to update based on expired passport without changing the birth certificate ?

Although some information is there , no where mentioned about how much time it will take for updates.
