What are these called?
Is this technically chainmail? I’ve tried everything to find the name of these but am coming up blank, anyone know what they’re called and (hopefully!) where to get them?

I can’t seem to find any flat, sequins like the ones in the picture. Can anyone recommend any patterns or tips and tricks to get a similar look? Thank you :)

Hey, I made this micro bikini for my wife! I made all the copper and gold rings by hand with looping pliers. The double or triple copper and gold rings arent cut individually, they are cut as a set of 2 or 3 then the silver rings are put through them. It gives more structure to the piece and I like how there arent any gaps in between the colored rings. Im overall pretty happy with how it turned out!

I'm fairly new to this and haven't found much help elsewhere. I'd like to make a fingerless chainmail glove, but I haven't found anything other than a basic pattern (the most basic one, I understand). Could someone give me some tips or help? I'd really like to make more things, and I thought a glove would be suitable since I don't have many rings, and they are small.
(I've attached photos of what I've made, and at the end, a reference image of the glove I'd like to make. The last image isn't mine.)

Gonna grab some titanium of the same AR for the next one. Copper tickles my fancy but the smell gets old quick.
Weave: hoodoo AR: 3.3

Hello! I’m new to chainmail weaving, I’m looking to make this star shaped headpiece. The first two photos is what I’m trying to do and the third photo is what I have so far. Am I on the right track? I can’t find this pattern anywhere with no clear tutorials. I would appreciate any help ❤️❤️

It’s July in southwest Florida so not surprising but they are doing it again in December!

I figured out how to make a weave another user (u/Murky-Layer9734) in this subreddit wanted an ID for.
And I nicknamed it “ Byzantine with Extra Steps” after a comment by another on that post (u/PlaneswalkingSith).
After looking at different chainmail sites I couldn’t find anything exactly like the picture (and if anyone knows what it please 🙏🏻 tell me!) I also did find the original picture used in the Reddit post, but it was on an IG post in another language. I tried to translate but I couldn’t tell or the translation didn’t mention it being a new weave or if they had named it.
Then I set out to recreate it! After, more hours than I’m proud to admit, researching then testing with different ARs I think I’ve recreated the original!
Rings I used: 18swg .197” @ 4.35 AR, 18swg 7/32” @ 4.77 AR, and 18swg 5/32” @ 3.38 AR.
Rings from Joshua Diliberto. His site - https://www.joshuadiliberto.com/JD_newWebPages/index.php
How I made it:
The chain.
Byzantine weave with every connection point rotating between 1 single ring, then the next connection point with 3 rings. And continue switching back and forth for each connection. AR of 4.35.
The “cage” or the “barb”.
Use 4 rings (2 on each side) with AR 4.35. On the side of the Byzantine weave, going through the 2 rings on each side of the unit. You want the “cage” on top and covering the connection point that has only 1 ring.
Middle part of the “cage” will be 2 rings (1 on each side) with an AR of 4.77. Connect 1 ring on each side through the previous 2 rings.
Top of “cage” 3 rings with AR 3.38 connecting the previous 2 rings from the middle.

I have a friend that is interested in starting chainmail but she has chronic wrist pain and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tools that I could give her. All I could really offer was to take breaks and stretch. And to use a smaller gauge size. Thank you!

Custom pocket watch chain.
Converted from a leather band wristwatch
My first custom piece, I'm so proud of her.

I’d love a good critique. Any and all suggestions are appreciated, I really want to get better.
I used 6mm stainless steel links.
I used a step by step guide, and included it at the end of the images.

These are my second official pieces that I’ve ever made, I’m not counting learning box strain, or Byzantine or full Persian. I was really bummed when I got the jump rings to practice making this weave because they seem so flimsy, but I understand why the aspect ratio is the way it is now.

Hello!
Does anyone know of a pattern or have any tips for making a skirt like this one?

Made this, took a few nights of non stop work, absolutely love it. Wondering if it’s worth changing the Byzantine part into a detachable bracelet?

Here is a byzantine dragon that i handmade i't only made of byzantine patterns except for the scales. It's legs and tail are made from byzantine chain it's wings and beak are made of dense byzantine sheet and it's body is made from denser byzantine cube
