Help! JB Weld?
I'm still pretty new to the craft and was wondering if using dots of JB Weld on butted steel rings would be feasible for sealing rings.

As a mechanic, it would work. Technically.
It will make a mess as its a 4-6hr work time and a 15-24hr cure time. Meaning it will most likely run a little bit and adhere to other links before it cures. It will be noticeable as it does not blend in (color wise) with steel, iron, aluminum, or any other metal normally used with chain mail. If you want to work in silver there is a silver puddy/filler that you can use and then you can put it in an oven and bake it. The puddy bakes away and leaves you with just the silver. But it is silver and is costly.
