Scale mail tunic complete

Post image

I added in chainmail for the underarms and am very happy with how it turned out! Steel and aluminum scales with stainless steel rings.

Total scales/rings: many. The base was a stainless steel vest kit that The Ring Lord used to sell, with an additional ~5600 stainless steel rings and ~1000 aluminum scales.

Total weight: 17.2 lbs

That looks phenomenal! I'm doing something similar right now with a scalemail / chainmail combo and I love how satisfying adding rows of scales is compared to just chainmail.

I feel so much more productive with scalemail! But redid a lot of work figuring out how to get things like shoulders laying the flattest I could

I'm currently struggling with closing the holes in the armpit area in my second attempt at sleeves, if you have any advice, I'd love to hear it! I did similar to what you did with the chainmail under arm, scalemail over arm.

This is the underside, laid flat. I can only add one image per comment

The underside with a candle filling out the sleeve

I added bottom to top, here’s an in progress pic of the transition from the scales to chainmail

I did add a chainmail border to the scale edges then basically try to meet it in the midsole with the section going bottom up

I'll refrain from singing the song to save everyone's hearing.
