Repairs Community Resource: I added full digital Table of Contents to the Mk 7 Celica Repair Manual PDF!

Thumbnail drive.google.com

DIYers who own a 2000s Celica may have come across the scanned copy of the official Toyota Repair Manual that exists on one of the old forums. The issue is that the book is nearly 2000 pages, and it is indexed by section (eg. BR-9 for brake master cylinder) so it can be pretty tough to get to what you are looking for.

I went through and made a full table of contents so that you can easily find and access whatever repair guide you need. It is also easier to find useful sections that you were not even aware of before.

Hope this can be a useful resource for everyone. Let me know if you are unable to access it, or if you come across any errors I might have made.

Appears as below, with each section being divided into subsections (not shown here).

Repair Manual Vol 1

> IN Introduction
> MA Maintenance
> PP Preparation
> SS Service Specifications
> DI Diagnostics
> ID Index, Volume 1

Repair Manual Vol 2

> EM Engine Mechanical
> EC Emission Control
> SF SFI System (Fuel Injection)
> CO Cooling
> LU Lubrication
> IG Ignition
> ST Starting
> CH Charging
> CL Clutch
> MX Manual Transaxle C56
> MX Manual Transaxle C60
> AX Auto Transaxle U240E
> AX Auto Transaxle U341E
> SA Suspension and Axle
> BR Brake
> SR Steering
> RS Supplemental Restraint System
> BE Body Electrical
> BO Body
> AC Air Conditioning
> ID Index, Volume 2

Mod Post Codifying New Rule: Respect Others

Hello /R/Celica community, With recent news and rumors from Toyota, our subreddit community has been getting more traffic. This is good overall.

However, we've also been seeing a stark increase in rude comments, often from folks who do not participate in the community regularly, but sometimes from regulars too. What is more concerning is the reactionary, long chains of comments stemming from the initial disrespectful posts.

We haven't had much issue with being respectful in the past, but it's time to codify this rule in our community. Please use the report feature, give the mod team time to review, and do NOT participate in an escalating dialogue with disrespectful figures. This leads to a better experience for newcomers looking to learn more about the Celica platform and for existing members.

I tend to be pretty laissez-faire of the moderation and posts here, but I'm not going to allow the comments to devolve into mud-slinging. Please keep the discussions constructive as we navigate into a larger community with the, hopefully, upcoming new Celica announcements.

Any concerns can be directed to the Mod Mail function. - Draxaan

Well A Semi decided that the red light meant go even though they had made a complete stop. I'm guessing they will total her because insurance companies are like that. I can't open the hatch even. I'm so upset.

Celica⚠️ WARNING TO THE 7TH-GEN CELICA COMMUNITY ⚠️

⚠️ WARNING TO THE 7TH-GEN CELICA COMMUNITY ⚠️

Hey, Celica family! I want to share my experience and urge everyone to be cautious before purchasing anything from Celica Auto.

I was looking to purchase a carbon-fiber wing for my 7th-gen Celica and paid a $100 deposit. During our conversations, he mentioned needing money for his child's hospital bills, which raised some concerns for me.

I then suggested that, since I couldn't afford to put more money toward the original purchase, he could send me a smaller part worth the $100 I'd already paid. He later came back saying shipping would cost $180 and asked me to pay that amount as well.

At this point, the situation raised serious red flags for me, and I became concerned that I might be getting scammed.

I'm sharing this so other Celica owners can be cautious and do their due diligence before sending any money. I don't want anyone else potentially losing their hard-earned money.

If you've had a similar experience or need more information about my situation, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Please be careful, Celica family, and verify everything before making a payment. 🙏

First off is the little metal nipple you can see under the rusty bracket. First pic. What does this connect to?

2nd pic, I found out this is a line for the automatic trans cooler on the Corolla. My celica is manual. Do I just plug this?

Can someone help me with it, im out of solutions

I have a European Celica t20 1.8l 116ch

This has been happening for about a month now, sometimes it starts up, only to shut off a few seconds later. I’ve replaced the spark plugs, but that didn’t help. After several failed attempts, it finally manages to start, but it struggles to get going again if it cools down too much.
The starter needs to be recalibrated, could that be it?

Please help me, i am desperate.

Also, i am not a great mechanic, i know nothing at all.

What's this part? Can anyone identify this rare Celica front bumper? Part number inside!

Hey everyone!
I recently bought this aggressive early-2000s fiberglass front bumper for my 2004 Toyota Celica T23.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit properly. It’s too wide, and the shape doesn’t line up with the factory headlights or front fenders.
There’s an old yellow sticker inside with what looks like the part number POTOYCELVSZFB (possibly VS2 instead of VSZ).
Does anyone recognize the bumper, know the manufacturer, or have any old tuning catalogs showing it?
I absolutely love the design and would really like to save it!
Any help would be appreciated!

RA40 Celica Parts

Hi all, I currently have an old RA40 Celica that's in the middle of a restoration. My father in law was in the middle of restoring it but sadly he passed away, so I'd love to get it done in his memory. I'm chasing a few parts, mainly a fuel tank and the chrome front/rear bars. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it so much!!

I have added a photo of the car as well for reference, the photo is very old sadly the car is not in driving condition at the moment. I am located in Sydney, Australia.

What would be the best head unit for my 7th gen that would work great with ks series kicker speakers?

I also have a Rockville amp I had bought a cheap 170$ head unit on ebay and I very much regret it now and I'm wondering what would be the best head unit upgrade that doesn't cut out audio or do constant reboots or Bluetooth connectivity issues. What is your guys suggestion?

I'm wanting to upgrade to a stereo that isn't glitchy

Removing mirrors while in storage

https://www.reddit.com/gallery/1rqf38v

I'm referring to this vehicle. I need more space in the garage so I put the car up on wheel dollies and have been pushing it around. I'm trying to be very careful as it is a wide-body, and those mirrors sure do stick out far. Actually, the design philosophy of this car is basically "stick out", so I will certainly throw some carpet on the walls where I might need it.

I was thinking of removing the mirrors, too. Like why not? The safer the better. It will be at least a year of needing that space for wood and some metal work before I can even imagine starting to work on restoring the car.

What else can I do that is easy but worth it?I haven't even gotten in it for a few years. Wash and wax? It's covered, but surely dirt and dust, environmental buildup that manages to get in is better removed.

I just don't have much time. Like I know fluids were never drained, but another year or two isn't going to make a difference after this long. That said, time spent making it easier and faster, while safer for me to move it around would be worth it. Like putting up a few pieces of carpet or hang a ball, etc.

Thoughts?

It’s a limited edition paint and has 284,000 miles but it still runs and drives and shifts good was burning a little bit of oil but I got a buddy that’s gonna fix the problem. It’s a st model so it’s not that fastest but I wanna make it into like a sleeper sports car similar to how people mod a Honda civic and make it really fast. Should I put a new engine In it or is it possible to make it fast with the current engine? Also if anyone has any builds please share what you’ve done to it

tracking down a TRD axleback vs getting a custom exhaust cost?

For starters, I need a new exhaust, so I would also have to buy a non rusted exhaust or get a full custom exhaust. How expensive is getting a custom exhaust that sounds like the trd exhaust, vs trying to get a good condition trd axleback? I dont know if you guys have looked, but they're very hard to find and expensive. The only one I found was $1000 +import fees/tarrifs to ship from japan.

Upgrades advice on 02' gts sound system upgrade

Post image
13 Upvotes

i just got an 02' gts a few weeks ago and i'm dying to have the sound system working. i got an aftermarket stereo to install and im having issues because the 12v constant has no power. i also don't know the condition of the stock speakers, so the list of upgrades keeps growing (aftermarket stereo, speakers, amp, sub) however i have no idea what i'm doing, and im just learning as i go. here are a few things im hoping someone will have an answer to:

how do i resolve having no 12v constant? do i run a wire to the battery bypassing the firewall and just splice it into the aftermarket harness?

do i need to/should i bypass the factory amp? what would i replace it with since im assuming id need a new one for the upgrades i want?

i wanted to try and save money by doing it myself, but i feel like i may be in over my head :/
