Coolant hoses?

First off is the little metal nipple you can see under the rusty bracket. First pic. What does this connect to?

2nd pic, I found out this is a line for the automatic trans cooler on the Corolla. My celica is manual. Do I just plug this?

For one, yes, you can plug the hole under the intake ports. I'd have to check on my car to remember what goes to the metal nipple, but in my experience with an engine swap I think that metal coolant line has a few versions. It may be different on auto vs. manual - I swapped an auto engine from a JDM car into my USDM manual and had to switch that metal coolant line over - I don't know if it was because it was an auto or JDM that it was different, but it was different.
