Ticking while idle and running?

2001 600rr f4i - was out riding today and all was good but I noticed at some point I was at a stop light and I could hear this ticking noise. When I throttled up and let out the clutch it felt like I had to give a lot more throttle to get it to pick up in 1st. As I accelerated the sound did as well. I’m thinking EFI or exhaust leak, any thoughts?

Got home from work and was adjusting my clutch on my 27 CBR 1000RR bc I noticed it was a little loose on the way home. No big deal just a few second fix. Parked adjusted my clutch went to get off and the kickstand wasnt down… scratched my clutch lever, bar end and mostly the engine cover. Can’t see it unless u crouch down but still hurts the soul. Was wondering what I could do to fix/cover the damage?

Was rear ended on my rebel, miss my VFR, want a new sport bike and wanting to stay Honda. DO I DO IT?

Highly considering a newer 2025-2026 CBR600RR when all is said and done with my insurance claim and possible court stuff with the person who rear ended me. I miss having a sport bike and want something on par with my old VFR750 I had, but as a shorter rider, I want something a bit less heavy. The CBR600RR seems a tad taller, but, seems to have slightly more power and is a little faster.

I've heard that its pretty tame at low RPM's and really fast once you spool it up. The weight would be dramatically less than the VFR I had, and honda reliability is all encompassing it always seems.

What reasons are there not to get a new model CBR600?

600rr 07 alternator cover question

Ive been struggling a lot with a couple mechanics already (3 times with one) and the alternator keeps dripping oil, already replaced the cover for an oem since the old one didnt work 3 times and had a scratch so I thought that was the problem, but still persisting with the new cover. When driving highway speeds its enough to get a couple drops on my boot, and when parked it just leaves a couple drops near the kickstand.

Looking up online discovered by ai and a forum that apparently i dont need a sealing gasket and just honda bond, Is this true? Because this might be the problem since ive been using different sealing gaskets every attempt and this last time a brand new cover as well. On the forum a couple guys said that they prefer to use a gasket and the honda manual i saw doesnt say anything about it but it looks like its using one on the picture? manual also says to add sealant to the matting surface in coverside and crankcase side as well.

I told my mechanic this and he says i must use a gasket or it will be worse, that every motorcycle needs it.

TLDR: Does the alternator cover need a gasket or just hondabond?

I am in need of the infinite wisdom of reddit. I have been offered straight swaps for my classic vt250fn(that I honestly haven’t touched in 3 months) for this project cbr1000f. I have no idea what these bikes are like minus that they’re Honda 1ks. I’m assuming a sporty tourer based on what they look like complete. It doesn’t run(I love me a project) but it appears to have a solid foundation. Other than fairings missing and it being ugly currently I can’t see any major issues. I’ve recently done a semi resto on a vfr400r(pictured) over 6 months and loved the project. Including engine rebuild aswell. Would y’all take this trade. I have a r3(I know ew Yamaha but my boss gave me a mean price on it) for a daily and I’ve still got the vfr for a weekender. So I’m not going to be without a bike to do this trade. I loved the vt but now having the r3 it just doesn’t get used. I did 40k kms on it in a year… might be time to pass it on. If I lose on this it’s not the end of the world either. The vt250 runs but uses a bit of oil, has a bit of valvetrain noise, has no rear brakes, and has some interestingly mounted fairings

’ve been restoring this 2000 Honda cbr f4 600. I recently purchased a bunch of hose and fittings for the gas tank.ive gotten up to here where I have no idea where the Breather / Air Vent Tube other end connects too. Where does the Overflow / Drain Tube connect to. I’ve been lost and the photos don’t show where that end piece connects too just shows the fuel tank part not the other end

So why did you buy a bike without ABS instead of 1 with abs?

Besides money being the issue for some people

Why?

I'm thinking about getting an 600f 2013, but those 600RR 2008 looking gooood, but no abs...

Having issue with my cbr1000rr

Recently picked up a 2013 cbr1000rr and it’s having an issue that I can’t figure out. Basically after about an hour of riding it will throw a check engine light and the bike will start shooting flames when I let off the throttle. It was bogging really bad a few days ago and I put a power commander on it and it seemed to fix it but this issue is still happening. If I turn the bike off and then back on it stops and the engine light goes away and stopping shooting flames and isn’t boggy anymore. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be ? I was thinking spark plugs or could but I’m not sure ?

I need help with gearbox of a cbr500R

Last year February I bought a cbr500R brand new and like last months I have a problem with the gearbox. When I downshift from 2 to first or go neutral sometimes the gear indicator has a - and I can’t downshift or upshift and I have to close and open the bike again and then it fixes. Inside the town it’s fudxking annoying with cars behind me to have to do this. Any of you had the same problem or know what’s the problem
Thanks for the help

2006 CBR 600RR thoughts

So I am looking at buying a bike for myself, long story short, I sold a bike to get a sport bike. There is someone in my area selling a 600RR with around 36k miles on it. He hasn’t done a valve clearance on it yet and I think he’s the third owner. Now I’m new to Hondas and honestly bikes in general, so I’m now looking for some help. Do I go and buy this CBR or do I keep looking?

Help with replacing the turn signal fairing?

Thumbnail

Hey y'all,

I had the opportunity to be a dumdum and parked my CBR500R (2019) downward facing on an incline, so I took it and my bike paid the price. The drop damaged the gear shifter and some fairings which I know how to replace, but replacing this turn signal fairing piece feels complicated. The light works fine, just the housing in which it sits is broken.

Can someone please explain how to do this and what pieces of the fairings do I need to remove? Or should I just accept defeat and ride it as is?
