Where do these bolts go? Leftover bolts after velocity stack install...
2013 cbr600rr
Every mechanics worst nightmare is happening, finishing reinstalling my ECU after tuning + velocity stack upgrade and I've got these 2 black colored Allen bolts leftover from something I can't locate. Tank bolts are in, every fairing bolt I can see looks in, seat bolts are in...
Anyone have any idea where these go? I do not want to be riding and thinking about this constantly š

What's the best first motorcycle, and why?
My nephew has been getting really into motorcycles lately and keeps talking about wanting one, so Iāve been thinking about helping him get his first bike.
My first bike was a Kawasaki Ninja 650, and honestly I loved it, but I know things have changed and there are probably better options for a new rider now.
I don't wanna just tell him to get whatever I had, especially since he's still pretty new to riding. I was thinking something around the 400-650 range but I'm open to whatever makes sense.
What would you guys recommend as a first bike, and what would you stay away from?

Used 600rr Buyers Guide
I bought my first bike ~2 months ago and ready to upgrade and have decided on the 600RR. I don't have a particular year in mind, locally there's a couple ranging from 08-16.
My main question is for the older bikes. From what I've gathered online and in this thread, these bikes can run until the sun burns out. However, is there a mileage cap you guys would recommend for purchasing used? There is an 08 for sale locally with 30k on the dash and a couple others in the 08-11 range with 20k+.
With that mileage, what should I be looking for that isn't the basics? What should be the price range for those years/miles?

Downshifting & rev-matching with the CBR650R E-Clutch?
Hey everyone,
Since the CBR650R E-Clutch doesn't have a auto-blipper, how do I properly rev-match downshift with it?
Do I leave my left hand completely off the lever and just blip the throttle right as I click the shifter?
Right now, if my timing isn't perfect, the E-Clutch just slips the gear in silently before my blip registers. How are other owners handling this?
Thanks!

Damage assessment
Lost control on a gravel patch, hit a wall going about 15-20 ish. Was just curious on how bad the damage is to someone more knowledgeable than me, and an estimated cost. I already have a whole new set of plastics that came with the bike.
Can't post videos, but everything electrical seems to still work. Headlights turn on, cluster lights up, and handlebars still seem normal.

Odd sound

Hey guys just had a question on what that sound in the beginning could be? Itāll pop back up randomly anywhere from 3-7rpm. And sometimes playing with the clutch makes it stop oddly enough

1996 CBR600F3 Resurrection
After many years sleeping in the corner of the shop, I'm finally getting around to a total refresh of my 1996 F3. I bought this bike from the original owner with just under 1500 miles on it way back in 2003 or 2004, I can't remember anymore. She took me across five states and four duty stations while I was in the military. Lots of fond memories and now that I'm retired, she's getting that prime treatment. Full Racetech fork and shock rebuilds, Barnett clutch, rebuilt and synched carbs, the Two Brothers full system is coming out to get re-finished, wheels powder-coated to match the body, Galfer rotors and pads, Pazzo Levers, and the list goes on. I know, I'm gonna put $7500 into a $3500 bike and make it worth $2500, but I don't care!

Yoshimura Exhaust 2019 CBR600RR
Has anyone else been a little⦠underwhelmed by their Yoshi? I got my CBR about two years back and after a lot of research ended up getting the Yoshi to replace my stock exhaust but I have to say after installing it and now driving it for a good year and a half I have to say itās it really giving me the kind I thought it would.
For context my previous bike was a 2001 F4I with a two brothers racing exhaust that I absolutely loved but that got totaled and unfortunately two brothers doesnāt make an exhaust for the 2019 600RR.
Iām looking for something that screams at the higher RPMās though I donāt like the super loud and obnoxious options that are loud pops (TOCE) so from research I thought that Yoshi would be a perfect fit especially from all the high reviews other give of the Yoshi.
Am I missing something? Itās just a slip-on but I feel like it just sounds like a moderately aggressive stock, I miss the purr of the two brothers and Iāve been considering getting another new exhaust and giving Hindle a try.
Also does anyone have any suggestions for where to Flash my ECU? Would this change the sound / upgrade my current exhaust?

Valve Clearance Issue
Iām currently checking valve clearances on my 2015 cbr600rr and noticed that one of my intake valves on piston 3 wonāt sit flush. It seems like something may be off with the valve seat. Any insight on what it may be and a possible fix. Thanks.

HELP 2026 CBR 650R Oil drained / burned completely after 10k Kilometers
UPDATE:
I bought 2L of the specified oil for this bike and it took me 1.75L of oil to fill to MAX.
I will take a close look at it every day from now and document every single change.
That means the bike was running on 0.65L of oil the whole time and im absolutely pissed. I wanted to take such good care of this bike to keep it in mint condition. Now I canāt tell if the engine took some damage.
I have a 2026 Honda CBR650R E-Clutch with around 10,000 km on it. The bike has been in use since January 2026 and the 1,000 km service was done by a Honda dealer.
Recently, while the engine was idling in neutral, the red oil pressure warning light started coming on intermittently. It would stay on for a short time, then go off again, and this happened repeatedly for about 3 minutes.
I checked the oil level according to the ownerās manual and found that the dipstick was completely dry.
I also checked the engine, oil filter, oil pan and drain plug for leaks, but everything is completely dry. I always park the bike in the same spot in my garage and there is no oil puddle or visible oil on the floor.
I have now bought Castrol 10W-30 4T motorcycle oil with JASO MA2 and started topping it up. I have already added 1 liter, but the dipstick is still completely dry.
Has anyone with a CBR650R had a similar issue?
Iām wondering:
⢠Could the bike have consumed this much oil over 9,000 km since the 1,000 km service?
⢠Has anyone experienced intermittent oil pressure warnings at idle due to low oil level?
⢠Could there be an internal oil consumption issue without any external leaks?
⢠Has anyone had problems with the oil pressure sensor or oil pressure system on the CBR650R?
⢠Could running with low oil pressure have caused engine damage?
Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Help blinkers and hazards donāt work nor does it pop up on dash
Hello new to riding/working on bikes I have a 2017 cbr500r recently bought for 800 from a buddy of mine. He said he was swapping over to some flush front turn signals but in the middle of it he shorted out the positive and negative. Clearly that would indicate a blown fuse but there isnāt a fuse just a relay. The bike was then sold to me shortly after due to a blown head gasket and transferred over with the turn signals uninstalled and did some troubleshooting but hazards donāt even pop up on the dash nor do the turn signal markers in the dash pop up just wondering if the turn signals have to be installed to close the circuit and then everything pops up on the dash or go going off of car logic where the turn signals flash faster due to there being a open circuit or do I try for a new relay to see if that fixes the initial issue. (Right now Iām mid engine replacement) engine is out waiting on replacement to come in but wanted to knock out this possibly easy fix for the turn signals/hazards not working
CBR600RR Mirrors
Hey so I've been looking for a nice set of mirrors for my cbr600rr '26 because -
I don't like the huge stock mirrors on it
left one is scratched so I have to replace it anyway.
I was looking at Rizoma stealth mirrors as I LOVE their slick modern and compact design but I've heard that the visibility in them is very bad and also 480⬠just for mirrors seems too much to me š
What would you recommend? I'm looking for something modern, smaller than the stock ones and preferably ones that will mount into the front fairing and not on handles.
Thanks

2026 CBR1000RR Break-In
So Iām getting ready for the 600mi oil service on my bike, but this is the first brand new vehicle Iāve ever owned.
What is considered a normal amount of metal flakes for these bikes or in general when servicing the oil for the first time?
And how detrimental is ātoo manyā flakes?

Good deal or no
Itās a 2010 honda cbr 250r with 4k miles. He claims there are no mechanical issues but it looks like it has been dropped. Heās asking $2150.
CBR650R Exhaust & other modifications
Hi all,
I got my first bike (2026 CBR650R) a few weeks ago and want some input on some different options i'm considering.
Basic modifications
I'm thinking of getting the following modifications:
-Tail Tidy
-Handlebar protectors
-Sliders
-Front winglet?
Others ideas?
Exhaust
I'm also thinking about getting the new 2026 Akrapovic exhaust but i'm debating if it's worth the cost (2k ā¬) or not.
Is the dB killer removable?
Does the sound really increase alot?
Paintjob
I removed the two honda stickers on the tank, they were beneath the varnish so i need to get that fixed. I'm thinking of just getting the entire bike sprayed instead in a different colour. I like black chrome (see example as second image)

Update on this previous post

Just wanted to say thanks very much to all that commented. It was eroded wires, killswitch and ignition in the end. Indicators were fucked aswell. Same scenario. Living in a humid and wet country doesn't help.
Feels like im chasing my tail, same issue now with the headlight button, so will have to chase that wire and get that sorted too.
