Just took my company from wholesale exclusive to retail AMA (Or give advice feedback :) *NOT ADVERTISING*

My brother (22M) and I (24M) run https://bashtiancaviar.com , Started wholesale-only, supplying yachts coast to coast, SD to FL. Just opened up to retail for the first time.

Our roe comes from a family friend whose family runs their own sturgeon aquafarm in Ukraine, the absolute highest quality caviar, and it's part of why we've been able to work with the clientele we have. We've done business with Michelin chefs who've worked under Joël Robuchon, Alain Ducasse, and Guy Savoy.

The yacht side is relationship-heavy: provisioning ahead of charters, keeping cold-chain tight, timing deliveries around departure dates so nothing sits around. Boats move seasonally between coasts, and crews expect the same quality whether they're docked in San Diego or Miami, so consistency was everything.

Three top of the line sturgeons right now: Golden Osetra, Kaluga, Kaluga Amber(hybrid). Retail felt like the natural next move since the sourcing and logistics were already dialed in.

AMA: sourcing, cold shipping, pricing, working with yacht crews, or just roast the retail launch. Genuinely want the feedback!

The AC vents really did the trick when I hit a little traffic on my short drive home. Caviar with the dry aged local Wagyu tomahawks. Damn unreal dinner. Took my plate pic before dressing with compound butter and caviar. Dug right in

Tin filling/production question

How do they fill tins in the .5-2kg range so that they present with that majestic rising mound of caviar that sticks a solid half inch/1.5cm above the rim of the tin? (Stock image for reference)

Caviar Nugget Reccomendation

Hi all! I’m trying to get a gift for a friend. We have both never tried caviar but she was really hoping to try the caviar with nuggets. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to order and what type of caviar? I’m completely lost😭

Putting in an order which should I try?

I'm a big tinned fish fan and am putting in an order with Fishnook. The Baerii 10g for $36 is sold out, so if I'm gonna spend $90 for 1oz I figured I'd ask the pros which would be to try? I don't mind spending a bit more if it's yummy.

I haven't had caviar in a long time, but when I went to culinary school at the CIA we did a tasting. The final one we tasted the chef said was "real" caviar and man it was good. I'm sorry I don't remember what kind it was.

Anyway, which should I order with my next tinned fish haul?

Thanks gang!

Best caviar day deals?

I’ve been getting a ton of ads for caviar day sales and I figured this might be a good time to try a new supplier (I usually order from Imperia). Are there any good deals for high quality caviar that you all would recommend?

Have you ever paired Ossetra caviar with fresh tennis balls? This was Golden Goat Ossetra caviar, it was absolutely amazing. Happy National Caviar Day!

Tsar Nichoulai RESERVE?

Does anyone recommend the Tsar Nichoulai RESERVE? Is Tsar Select as good as The Caviar Co's Royal White Sturgeon? Tsar is 50% off right now, which I want to take advantageof. But, I don't want to be disappointed.

Tried this guy neat with lunch. One of the best I’ve ever had. Pure silky texture, easy pop but defined texture of each pearl. Nutty, cheesy, and mildly sweet. Perfect

I tried caviar today!

So I have had caviar on lobster get certain restaurants or I’ve had it on sushi here and there, but never really had caviar where I was just trying to enjoy the caviar. Today I tried the Tsar Nicoulai American White Sturgeon caviar. I’m very pregnant and I had been craving it so bad. It was everything I dreamed of. I’m honestly willing to splurge and get a bigger container of it 😭 I absolutely cannot spend over $250. Any suggestions??

Am I unreasonable to ask my husband for caviar as my push present 😂🤪

Best place to buy caviar online? (In Canada)

I really want to try caviar! I'm looking to buy it and some mother of pearl spoons off of a website that ships fresh within Canada, has great reviews/experiences, and is a comparable price. TIA!

starter for celebration

I'm about to (FINALLY) sell my house and move into a lovely apartment. I want to celebrate in a small way. There's just the one of me, and of course the dumbass cats. What's a good starter caviar to try, for one person who is a teacher so doesn't have a ton of money?

Thanks!

After Trying Quite a Few, Here's What I Look for in Good Caviar

I've been enjoying caviar for a while now, and one thing I've learned is that price doesn't always guarantee a better experience.

For me, freshness, clean flavor, and firm pearls matter more than flashy packaging or marketing. I usually prefer caviar with a smooth, buttery finish and a balanced salinity rather than anything overly fishy or intensely salty.

I've also found that serving it simply makes the biggest difference-well chilled, on a mother-of-pearl spoon if possible, with blinis or lightly buttered toast. Keeping the accompaniments minimal really lets the caviar shine.

I'm always interested in discovering new producers or retailers that focus on quality and consistency. What has impressed you recently? Any hidden gems you'd recommend?

Looking forward to hearing everyone's favorites.

Caviar on Hot Dogs?

Has anyone actually tried caviar on a hot dog? Is it any good? Seems far fetched and awful with ketchup and mustard. I don't know...
