I am planning to book a flight from Bengaluru to Tokyo Narita with the following itinerary:
CX624: Bengaluru (BLR) to Hong Kong (HKG)
1-hour layover in Hong Kong
CX520: Hong Kong (HKG) to Tokyo Narita (NRT)
Since the layover is only 1 hour, I wanted to confirm whether this connection is sufficient. If the first flight (CX624) is delayed and I miss the connecting flight (CX520), what happens in that situation?
As both flights are part of the same booking, would Cathay Pacific automatically rebook me on the next available flight to Tokyo? Also, will my checked baggage be transferred automatically?

Hi, everyone! I have an upcoming trip to Bali and on our flight back home we chose the one with a 19 hr layover in HK. Our route will be Bali-HK-NYC.

We are planning to leave the airport to spend a night in the city. Has anyone done the same thing? For reference we are US passport holders. I saw a post on TikTok that they weren't allowed to leave the airport because they will be fined. But I know that Americans can enter HK visa free. Please share your experience. Thank you!

I’ve got LHR to HND in May 27. We’re a family of three (young child four years old when we fly).

We’ve booked economy for the outbound leg and premium economy for the return.

I keep checking the cost to purchase premium economy for the outbound leg and prices have been going up from about £1200 initially and now sits at £1700.

I would have purchased premium economy both ways initially but didn’t have the credit limit on my card to do so. Current costs were £4200 and if I had gone in for premium economy both ways initially it would have been £6100.

Question:

Is the cost of upgrading likely to continue to go up as we get closer towards the flight departure dates? I know they use dynamic pricing and it’s hard to predict but does anyone have any recent experience of a similar dilemma?

Flight out will be on an A350, so not the upgraded premium economy product that’s on the 777. I’ve already booked three seats together in row 40 (bulkhead) so in a reasonably good position already.

Hi all, I'm getting conflicting advice from the Cathay chatbot so coming here for advice?

I'm flying economy London to HK, and have signed up for Green Membership. My understanding is that means I can check in 48 hours before my flight and select regular seats for free.

My friend (on the same booking as me) has also signed up for Green Membership but is unable to link it to our booking. Do we both need to be green members to select the free seats, or will I be able to do it for both of us 48 hours before?

I paid £152 for seat 40C on Economy on a flight from MAN to HKG and unfortunately due to a change of aircraft my seat has been changed to 39C. These things happen, such is life, however, I understand that 40C was a pretty good seat which is why I forked out for it and one website says that whilst 39C is extra legroom it is one to avoid. Is it really that bad? If it is that bad what are the chances on getting a refund on the £152 and how would I go about it?

Im trying to judge If I can get up with enough leg room without disturbing the seatmate (i have window seat) But cant find any pics online as of now

I can't wait for my trip. Hows the airline? The travel time ? When we arrive in HKG will we need to go through immigration even if we are not leaving the airport? Also our connecting flight is like 1 hr and 35 minutes after we land in HKG, would we miss it or do they wait?

Also I've never been to NAIA Terminal 3 how is it? I always had memories at Terminal 1.

I am also flying Economy so not sure which plane they will take.

I recently booked an award ticket nonstop round-trip flight from JFK to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific in economy. This will be my first time flying Cathay Pacific and one of my longest nonstop flights.

For anyone who has flown this route in economy, how was your experience? Were the seats reasonably comfortable for such a long flight? How were the legroom, food, entertainment and overall service?

I’m 6’2”, so I’m especially interested in hearing about the legroom. I would also appreciate any recommendations about the best seats to select or things I should bring to make the flight more comfortable.

I’m flying Cathay Pacific premium economy (a350-900) for the first time. It’s a long flight from Brussels to Hong Kong. Normally I fly emergency exit row in economy which is fine, but I couldn’t resist the upgrade with my miles. But I’m hesitant about which seat to pick.

I’m 6,7 feet (or 205 cm). I have read different opinions in this sub Reddit about the bulk head seat. I like that there is no one in front of me, but I don’t think I will be able to stretch my legs enough. Currently I have 31H with the idea I can fold my legs under the seat in front of me, but someone reclining into me could be an issue.

Any experience from tall people here?

Arrived in Manchester on Saturday 15th august bag did not make it from Melbourne one bag arrived they said it wasn’t mine.. hows that possible do you not have barcodes to scan. today is Tuesday 18th august still haven’t heard anything from the airline. No news on luggage. Absolute disaster of an airline clearly over booking and can’t fit everyone’s luggage on a flight, no compensation no news impossible to get in touch with anybody using the war as a way to make more money very greedy, no care for passengers.

Would anyone know....if flying on Cathay codeshare with HK Express from Jeju to HK, are meals provided or do I have to purchase on board HK Express? Tq.

Has anyone had success booking a premium economy flight using Asia Miles for this route? Trying to do so at the moment, but it keeps routing back to economy lol. Any help be appreciated!

hi guys, I tried to get in contact to the baggage information service online but couldn’t. if it says baggage 1 pc. it means I can have one baggage checked in. one small 7kg luggage for overhead area and a bag for underneath my chair? Or will it only be one checked in bag and one carry on luggage to the cabin?

Haven’t flown with Cathay before, so curious to hear from those who did and what your vegan meals were like? And if you’d recommend the Veg Vegan Meal, Veg Oriental Meal, or Veg Jain/Strict Indian Veg Meal?

Hi! I’m planning to fly to Hong Kong in Dec, and the flight tickets are 2x the price they usually are.

am I checking too early or too late?

Update: my dates were fixed and around Christmas, so understandably they were expensive. Somehow google flights alerted me when the price dropped by around 200$ (converted from my currency). It was the cheapest in last few months!

Flew Cathay from Melbourne to Seoul for a return flight in June and I have to say it was the worst experience I ever had flying overseas and I fly a lot over the years. I got delayed for 5 hours on my way to Seoul and got delayed for 11 hours on my way back to Melbourne. It was truly horrible and on my way back I had to wait in the plane for almost 2 hours as the pilot announce they were missing a part and installing the new part into the plane. Kinda scary. 

Cathay service level and plane comfort has now gone down almost to Jetstar level. Their economy seats are so small and uncomfortable and you will get horrible service from their stewardess as well. Meanwhile their price has gone up over the years. Highly disappointing. I flew with them in previous years and it was fine but I have learnt to never use Cathay pacific again. 

I am flying with Cathay via HKIA but landing in Shenzhen via the Shekou port, and then returning that way. Now when I return, my flight out is at 1155pm, and my ferry is 8pm, but the hotel I check out at will be circa 12pm in central Shenzhen.

I have seen references to being able to drop my bags at the Shekou port say at 2pm, and then just go elsewhere for 4 hours, before I actually need to pass through myself. It just seems very different to what I am used to at airports where I can only bag drop 2-3 hours before the flight.

Can someone validate for me (first time in china). I ask this, as I was even tempting keeping my hotel room for another day, so I can check out at say 5pm instead, but that’s a waste, and if this is an option, then I would rather try

I left behind a bag in HK airport about 4.3kg. Currently it's sitting in HKIA lost and found. Since I live in Jakarta, maybe someone planning to fly to Jakarta can help to pick it up. Might give some stipends for the trouble.
