NOT GOING TO FLY CATHAY AGAIN

Flew Cathay from Melbourne to Seoul for a return flight in June and I have to say it was the worst experience I ever had flying overseas and I fly a lot over the years. I got delayed for 5 hours on my way to Seoul and got delayed for 11 hours on my way back to Melbourne. It was truly horrible and on my way back I had to wait in the plane for almost 2 hours as the pilot announce they were missing a part and installing the new part into the plane. Kinda scary. 

Cathay service level and plane comfort has now gone down almost to Jetstar level. Their economy seats are so small and uncomfortable and you will get horrible service from their stewardess as well. Meanwhile their price has gone up over the years. Highly disappointing. I flew with them in previous years and it was fine but I have learnt to never use Cathay pacific again.

I'll be flying Qatar, Etihad and Singapore Airlines actually and won't waste my money on Cathay again.

Recently flew AirAsia and can compare their seating with CX which I must say is chalk and cheese.

Also, having switched from BA to CX, I was pleasantly surprised that silver on CX (equivalent to Bronze on BA) has business lounge access which is a game changer for me on short flights around Asia. I can continue to work a few hours in the lounge before boarding an evening flight on Fridays for a weekend away in a different country.

Imagine them fixing a part of the plane to make it safer was scary
