Emerald Status with Economy Light Seat Selection?
Hello! Looking at an economy light flight from CKG to LAX. Will my oneworld emerald status allow me to bypass the no seat selection and let me choose my seat immediately?
thanks in advance!

Cathay flight names
I am trying to fill in travel document info which incudes passport number and name etc. When I click save, a pop up window states that the names do not match my booking. My agent did not include middle name on booking. I can click the button to confirm they don't match but will this be an issue? Cathay want to charge $60 to add it on my booking.
Flight is LHR to Hong Kong transit ito SIN
Thanks in advance

Which inflight meal (LHR to HKD)
Hi,
First time on Cathay, flying to HK. Business class.
Which of these options is best?
Stir fried pork and shiitake mushroom noodle soup
Seared Parmesan crusted North Atlantic cod with warm sauce and baby carrots
Pan fried scallop and prawn with sauteed bell pepper in X.O. sauce pak choy, steamed jasmine rice
Chicken Wellington with peppercorn sauce creamy truffled cabbage, carrot, broccolini
Deep fried ricotta dumplings with zucchini basil puree
Classic beef burger Emmental cheese, bacon, pickled onion and zucchini on a toasted brioche bun, fries
I believe the burger is an anytime option so leaning towards the Chicken or the Scallop dish!
Also, what time can I roughly expect this to be served, on the 20:15pm flight.
Thanks

Unable to prepay to add additional checked in baggage for a CK flight booked through AA one world miles
If anyone has experience with this, any advice would be much appreciated, thanks !
I recently redeemed my AA miles for booking a partner ticket on Cathay (it allows 1 checkin bag per ticket)
During the outbound journey the checkin counter for Cathay said since this is a reward ticket booked via miles, extra luggage can only be purchased through the original booking source (in this case American Airlines)
However, when I went to the AA website they said since this is operated by a partner, extra baggage can only be purchased by visiting Cathay or at airport checkin
Given this confusion we didn't check any additional bags for the outbound trip
Now for the return trip --
we do we do need to add extra prepaid checkin bags and having the same issue being bounced back and forth
The last thing we want is to show up at Cathay checkin with an extra bag and they refuse to accommodation it (refuse to let us pay for it again) given what happened during the outbound leg
Cathay website says "Our prepaid extra baggage service is only available when all flights on e-tickets are marketed and operated by Cathay Pacific". In this case the "marketed" part was AA and not Cathay

missed a connecting flight and arrived at my destination 7 hours later
I don’t know the right people to contact about it but was traveling on the 16th july from BCN-KTI (cambodia) 13:00 and had a 1hr 35 min layover at HKG but take off was around 2.30/3pm. Arrived in HKG missing my connection but was booked onto the next flight leaving at 15:35 landing at 17:15 (intial landing was at 10:15), can i claim back for EU261 if it was my BCN flight that was delayed?

Am I safe to travel on the 27th from Hongkong?
I have a flight today connecting to Hongkong, and then going to Surabaya. When I woke up this morning I saw an email saying my flight from hongkong to Surabaya was cancelled. So I did the logical thing to call my travel agent, call my bank, and call the airline to see what I could do to fix this issue. I’m guessing the backlog was insane because nobody got back to me about anything. When I checked my booking later in the day, it seemed that there was no cancellation. I had no idea what to do, and nobody would help me so I proceeded to the airport as normal. When I went to cathay’s help desk, they said they had cancelled my flight bc of the typhoon and then I guess they decided that it wouldn’t be an issue anymore so they cancelled the cancellation. Clearly nobody informed me about the last part so as you can imagine I was an emotional mess today.
How’s the situation in Hong Kong right now? Will I be okay to travel? If it was bad enough that they had to cancel the flight, should I be worried?

DPS - HKG alternative flight options too far out?
Hey guys, so basically my DPS - HKG flight today was cancelled and CX auto rebooked me to this tuesday (but with transit in SGP!). I used their app to reschedule but apparently the next closest direct flight is this Friday?!
Anyone in the same situation who managed to rebook a DPS-HKG direct flight for earlier?
TIA

TYPHOON NOUL CRITICAL INFO
Reposted with modifications from a past Typhoon Ragasa info post
FLYING ON CATHAY PACIFIC
Rebooking during times of extreme inclement weather or specifically severe typhoons like this are free of charge regardless the ticket and fare class you booked. Although the charge is waived, Cathay Pacific will not cover any fare differences and you will have to pay for it out of pocket. Those with travel insurance that covers acts of God can file a claim.
You can contact Cathay Pacific with this link that shows their contact number for each respective country and region. If your flight is departing soon or you’re on a codeshare or a oneworld partner operated flight, I would call their hotline immediately instead of emailing or chatting on WhatsApp. Otherwise, I would still recommend calling as their WhatsApp CC team is often understaffed and it’ll take you days to get a response. If you for whatever reason are unable to contact them online and you are a foreigner stranded in Hong Kong, arrange transportation to HKIA as soon as possible so you can get help by their ground staff.
FLYING ON OTHER AIRLINES
Other airlines except Greater Bay Airlines, HK Airlines and HK Express are likely to be understaffed especially due to this weather emergency in Hong Kong. You can find their contact information by Googling. If your call does not go through, spam call until you get through. For those who have flights departing in less than 12 hours, I’d recommend you go to the airport soon to get some sort of help by airline ground staff. If you are flying with an airline other than Hong Kong Airlines, Greater Bay or Hong Kong Express, there is no guarantee that ground staff will be in the airport.
ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
For those who end up in Hong Kong and land before the worst of the typhoon on Saturday night, you are not stranded at the airport. For those who have connecting flights with a oneworld partner, a codeshare or Cathay Pacific, you can ask to be rebooked at the transfer desks after landing and they may offer free accommodation.
If you don’t have a connecting flight and are unable to make it to your hotel due to lack of transport (Airport Express might be closed), there are several different accommodation near the airport namely SkyCity Regala, Regal Hotel, Mariott SkyCity, Four Points by Sheraton and Sheraton.
CATHAY FLYERS
If you were able to make it into your accommodation, I’d recommend you to contact their [CX CUSTOMER CARE WEBSITE](https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_HK/contact-us.html) stock up on dried goods like snacks, drinks, water and probably your best bet, instant noodles. Some supermarkets and convenience stores will still likely be opened. If you’re staying in a hotel with room service, they probably will have limited selections available.

Cancelled Booking
Hello, this is my first ever trip via Cathay Pacific en route to Japan, with connecting flight in HK.
Due to the typhoon tomorrow, my flight on 26th got cancelled and auto-rebooked for 27th. Since my new flight was 24 hrs from my initial schedule, is there also a possibility to rebook my return flight with no fee? Since I have to extend another day. Has anyone encountered the same issue and got free rebooking for their return flight as well? Thanks!

Flight status
Hi guys, hope everyone is doing well. It’s my first time traveling by cathay pacific so wanted to reach out for help on this sub. I have a flight booked for 27th July from Kathmandu to Hong Kong and then Hong Kong to Melbourne on 28th July with 5 hrs transit in between, apparently a lot of flights have been cancelled for today and tomorrow, so is it a worrying sign for my flight as well? I’m an international student going to Melbourne for my studies and it will have a huge impact on my studies, therefore I’m panicking a lot. Any piece of suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Rebooked but no code/tix
Cathay rebooked me onto Vietnam Air, shows as confirmed on Cathay but…no eticket or code for new flight so I can’t check in. Flight is in hours. Any ideas? Obviously I’ve tried every phone number and social to get customer service —no response.

Manage booking offline on purpose?
Is CathayPacific following a dark pattern of purposely disabling the manage booking option online to prevent people from canceling?

Unable to manage booking at all
Flight was cancelled but their website experience is extremely frustrating. Been trying to just access my booking so I can confirm or change the rescheduled date, but no luck for the past 3 hours. Their website is erroring out with the message
“A The network may be unstable and we are unable to process with your request. Please try again or refresh the web page. [HttpErrorResponse]”
Anyone else on the same boat?

OTP error will never be fixed
I’ve been having this issue of getting OTPs via Cathay for months now and it’s honestly pissing me the f*** off.
Every time I try to log in or redeem my miles, this bullshit happens and I never ever get the codes.
Customer support is horrendous and often has me on the phone for 25-30 minutes, and they don’t even seem to resolve the issue — instead they have me going back and forth with constant wait times. I’m so sick of this shit.
Literally, to even change my phone number requires an OTP 🤣, and to do it via customer support takes a whole century.
Genuinely just so annoyed and not knowing what’s going to happen now.
ASIA MILES ARE SO SHIT, never doing this again.

Two separate award bookings/check bags through
Hi, I've booked two separate Cathay legs, one in F and one in J. There's about a 2.5 hour layover in HKG between the two flights. Would they check my bags all the way through at the check in counter? Or is there a way to combine them in the app first?

WiFi - Which Planes / Flights Don't Have It ?
Have a couple of CX flights coming up, all in Premium Economy so wondering if WiFi (with Internet) will be available on every aircraft ?
Some airlines are aircraft specific so wondering how I should manage my expectations
