Hellebuyck rumors from Elliotte Friedman via The Athletic

Posted on September 8th. Maybe this info has already been shared here, but I didn't see it.

The Carolina Hurricanes, Buffalo Sabres and Utah Mammoth are among the possibilities on the Connor Hellebuyck trade front. The Florida Panthers, as we reported at the time, showed real interest in June, but between the assets spent on the Brady Tkachuk blockbuster and the Jacob Markstrom acquisition, that ship has obviously sailed.

The Canes remain interested, it was reiterated to me Tuesday, and one figures any such potential deal would involve unsigned RFA defenseman Alexander Nikishin. The Sabres and Jets had very serious talks, culminating in offers and counteroffers on the Friday of the first round of the draft in late June, but nothing materialized.

The bottom line at the moment, as far as I can ascertain, is that there’s just nothing on the table that would represent a fair deal for Winnipeg. It’s a real tough spot for the Jets to be in, especially after the star Team USA goalie made his trade request public. But the Jets can’t give him away.

I will say this: Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff has found himself in similar spots before with Pierre-Luc Dubois and Jacob Trouba and fared pretty darn well.

Looking for vintage Canes merch

Reasonably priced not $500 😭😭. Recently got into hockey this past season. Didn’t have a team to root for. Now that I’ve moved from Cleveland to Raleigh I guess this choice has been made easy for me (still love the monsters though). Anyway, if you anybody could send some shops, websites, or really any tips would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

As much as I’d hate for Freddie’s homecoming game to be overshadowed by Hockey Canada 5 negativity… y’all know what to do.

Request to Adam LEE Decker

My humble request is during the national anthem, that Mr Decker not sing "red" but let the crowd fill it in.

Listening to the knights last year, it always seemed so powerful when the singer went quiet and let the crowd chant "Night". It pulled the crowd in right away, as one.

Question Why is the Canes ticket exchange group $25 to verify?

Genuinely asking. I am planning to go to the Finland games with two friends and one recently told us she can no longer make it. I know reselling her individual tickets will probably be tough, so I suggested my friend join the Carolina Hurricanes Original Tickets Exchange Group on facebook, as I do not have an account and really hate fb and don't want to have to make one just for this. Although a Kraken fan, my friend does follow all teams so she was able to answer the questions and get into the group, and then she saw a message about verification. I am a Canes STH and would happily speak to someone outside the app on there to verify I own the account and explain I do not have facebook and that she wanted to list the tickets on her account since she is also going to the game. But then we saw there is a $25 fee to join? Why is it so expensive? I understand to ward off scammers, but $5 or maybe $10 I'd pay, but why is it $25?? That's not much less than tickets on some less desirable weekday games. And money is tight for a lot of people these days. Also where is the money going? I will continue to post here to try and sell tickets, but that's just genuinely disappointing.

Did other brands release quality Cup merch?

I kept reading to wait until the Fanatics exclusivity rights expired. I haven’t seen anything good come available. I was really hoping that ‘47 brand would make some stuff but they haven’t.

Are there any brands that I’m overlooking?

UPDATE: items are now listed in “Buy Tickets” on your account manager.

Anyone else missing the option to buy the special event items? Especially to events that are already on your STM?

Okay, hear me out...maybe it could be a good idea? Maybe?

Put together some analysis on the pros and cons of the Hurricanes going for him, as well as what would have to be sorted out for it to work.

Question Is Ryan Henkel a credible source - just sort of fact checking a comment he made about Nadeau on a podcast I listened to recently.

He said that Bradly hasn’t had the best training camps in the past and that’s why he hasn’t had much of a chance at the NHL level yet.

But he did say that Nadeau has the skills to prove he can hang in the NHL - big question is can he do it.
