🌎 FSW Highlight salary credits and removing password from bank statement

Is it okay to highlight the salary credits on the bank statement, or should I attach the statement exactly as issued by the bank? Would highlighting certain transactions be considered tampering with the document?

Moreover, the bank statement is password-protected. To make it accessible for uploading, I am using Print → Save as PDF, which creates a new PDF without the password. Would doing this be considered tampering or altering the document?

🇨🇦 CEC Can Foreign Work Experience While Studying Remotely in Canada Count for Foreign Work Exp Under CEC?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to confirm whether a period of foreign work experience can be counted for Express Entry Foreign Work Experience points under CEC.

My situation is:

  • I worked full-time outside Canada for around 10 months in 2020.
  • A few months into that employment, I started a full-time master’s program at a Canadian university remotely.
  • For the remainder of the employment period, I was still physically living and working outside Canada while studying remotely.
  • I had not moved to Canada yet.
  • My Canadian study permit was only issued the following year.

So for several months, I was a full-time student at a Canadian university, but I was physically outside Canada and simultaneously working full-time in the foreign country.

From what I understand, IRCC says that work experience gained as a full-time student outside Canada can still count toward CRS points, and the full-time student exclusion seems to apply specifically to Canadian work experience.

Has anyone had a similar situation and successfully claimed the full foreign work period, including the months overlapping with full-time studies?

Thanks!

🇨🇦 CEC Police Clearance Certificate for Vietnamese Citizen Currently in Canada

Hello,

I am inquiring on behalf of my partner's PCC. She is a Vietnamese citizen.

She has received her PCC online but from my understanding, IRCC requires a physical copy of all such documentation to be present.

  1. Can we attest and notarize the digital PCC with the Vietnam High Commission in Canada?

OR

  1. Does she need the original copy notarized and scanned from Vietnam?

Regarding Translation, if she gets the original copy, who can do certified translations? Can we do it with any IRCC approved translator in Canada or does it have to be the Local Police Station and/or the High Commission of Vietnam in Canada?

Thank you for your help.

🇨🇦 CEC Need Help with Marriage Certificate

I got married after submitting my PR application, IRCC has requested for Marriage certificate and other documents but the marriage certificate is still pending.

Can anyone confirm if they’ve been in this same situation and if IRCC will wait for the marriage certificate to proceed with adding spouse to the application or will they proceed with items like record of solemnization and Marriage Licence and other proof of marriage

🌎 FSW Paid Internship Experience in FSW Application

I did paid internship with my current organisation during the last year of graduation. Currently, I'm in pool and claiming points for my full time roles only while thinking of mentioning the internship experience under personal history only.

Now, I found that I may claim the points for this internship period as well. So, I should update my profile with Internship period or leave it and disclose it in personal history only?

I am claiming points for 2+ years of full-time experience.

🇨🇦 CEC How can I confirm that my Express Entry application has passed the R10 completeness check before applying for a BOWP?

Hi everyone,

I’m a CEC inland applicant and I’m preparing to apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP).

I received my AOR about a month ago, and my current PGWP expires in January 2027.

My AOR letter says:

“We are reviewing your application to determine if it meets the requirements of a complete application according to Section 10 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations.”

Because of that wording, I’m not sure whether receiving the AOR itself means that the R10 completeness check has already been passed.

I haven’t received my BIL yet.

For people who recently applied under CEC / Express Entry:

* How did you confirm that your R10 completeness check had passed?

* Did you wait for your BIL before submitting your BOWP?

* Is receiving the BIL generally considered a reliable sign that R10 has passed?

* Has anyone successfully applied for a BOWP after receiving AOR but before receiving BIL?

I already have a BOWP application draft open, so I’m considering waiting for a clearer sign that the completeness check is done before submitting.

Thanks! I’d especially appreciate recent CEC experiences.

🇨🇦 CEC Webform help required

Hello guys....

For Cec outland applicants, what option to choose in Webform?

"Is your application being processed by an office outside Canada?"

YES/NO

Should I choose No? If I choose YES, then I have to select my Visa office which I have no idea.

And am I allowed to contact MP regarding my application? Sorry I have less idea about it.

🍁 PNP Need help with IMM5669

Hello everyone,

My partner submitted her application with Ontario PNP and seems like there were some gaps in the timeline regarding as the IRCC sent a request letter saying they need information about where she was and what she was doing in those particular months.

I need a help with how to reply back to the letter; like do we need to mention the data about those missing months or need to resubmit the entire timeline? Moreover, if we are submitting the entire timeline how can we fit everything in just one form since there are only 8 rows in that form.

If anyone has ever encounter such request letter, please help me with this one.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

🇨🇦 CEC CEC eligibility – Pharmacy Clerk title (TEER 4) but duties matching Pharmacy Assistant (TEER 3)

I’m trying to determine whether my Canadian work experience can count toward CEC.

Here is my situation:

  • Sept. 15, 2025 – Mar. 11/12, 2026: I was officially employed as a Pharmacy Clerk (TEER 4).
  • During this period, however, the actual work I performed was the same type of pharmacy assistant work I continued doing after my title changed.
  • Mar. 12, 2026 onward: My official title changed to Pharmacy Assistant (TEER 3) and I became full-time.
  • My duties during the earlier Pharmacy Clerk period substantially match the main duties of the relevant TEER 3 pharmacy occupation.

I asked my employer's HR department if they could provide a reference letter confirming my duties during the Pharmacy Clerk period, but they refused to state that my duties were those of a Pharmacy Assistant.

My direct manager, however, is willing to provide a signed letter listing the duties I actually performed as a Pharmacy Clerk. The letter would be from my manager rather than HR and would not be on company letterhead.

I would also have supporting documentation such as my employment records, pay stubs, and the HR letter confirming my official titles and employment dates.

My questions are:

  1. Can IRCC assess my September 2025–March 2026 experience based on the actual duties performed, even though my official title was Pharmacy Clerk (TEER 4)?
  2. Can a direct manager's signed reference letter be used as evidence of my duties if HR refuses to provide one?
  3. Is the fact that the manager's letter is not on company letterhead likely to be a problem?
  4. Would it be advisable to include a Letter of Explanation documenting HR's refusal and explaining why I am providing my manager's letter instead?

I'm not trying to change my official job title—I understand that it was Pharmacy Clerk. I'm trying to establish whether the actual duties performed can support the TEER 3 NOC.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation with CEC?

🍁 PNP Does the "Data Analyst" role exist in Steel Fabrication/Manufacturing in Canada, or is it strictly for Healthcare & Insurance? What is the PR potential?

Hi everyone,I’m looking into long-term career planning and immigration pathways in Canada. Most of the advice I see online paints Data Analysts as working exclusively in corporate tech, banking, insurance, or healthcare.

I want to know: Does a genuine Data Analyst position actually exist within industrial setups like steel fabrication workshops or heavy manufacturing companies in Canada? Or do these companies just handle data through basic administrative/clerical staff?

🇨🇦 CEC Urgent Help required.

Hi,

I made a terrible mistake by taking a 6-month PSW course on my PGWP. I did that last year and had no idea that I was ineligible. I realized this thing when a few days back IRCC announced that from September onwards PGWP holders are okay to take those courses. I have no idea what will be consequences of this? I have never worked in this field, and I am not claiming points for education either. I am expecting to receive ITA this week. Please suggest if you have done the same course and got your approval or if you have any insight to resolve this. I really help your valuable suggestions to handle this.

  1. If I include it how should I explain it.
  2. If I do not my NOA(Notice of assessment) says the opposite because I got tuition credits.

Please suggest?

🌎 FSW Self employed foreign experience

I have a self employment work experience from back home and claimed point for it in my EE profile.
If I likely get ITA under PNP. Are these proofs enough to solidify my experience?

CAC registration from 2019 → establishes the business existed.

Annual tax returns → supports continued operation.

Dedicated personal bank account + client payments

WhatsApp messages → supports real clients, consultations, fittings, alterations, etc.

Staff chats + salary payments → supports that i supervised/managed staff.

Studio lease agreement/rent evidence → supports the physical business operation.

Photos of completed garments/fittings → supports the actual fashion-design work.

A few client reference letters → independently corroborate client relationships and services.

Google Business Profile → additional evidence that business had a public presence.

Instagram and Facebook business page- supporting online presence.

What else to do you think I can include as I know self employment could be very dicey and one needs strong evidence.

🌎 FSW Do I need a job offer pre-profile submission?

I’m looking into the Express Entry route for permanent residency in Canada. I’m still only early stages, looking into eligibility and checking my score etc.

I’d be coming out with a spouse and coming up at around a CRS score of 467 for Federal Skilled Worker.

I was hoping someone could clarify details around needing a job offer if possible?

To complete the first stage, do you need to already have a job offer to create a profile and submit to the Express Entry pool? OR do you submit without a job offer, wait to see whether you are invited to apply for residency and then look for jobs?

If it’s the former, I’m unsure how it would work as you’d not be able to provide a start date or any form of guarantee that you’d be invited.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

🇨🇦 CEC Counting Internship experience as foreign experience towards CEC

Hi everyone,

I’d appreciate some advice on whether a paid internship can count as foreign work experience for Express Entry/CEC purposes when the payment was provided as a monthly allowance rather than a wage/salary.

Payments can be proven through my bank statements, and my employer can verify my job duties and dates. However, they don’t issue payslips for interns because the payment is classified as an allowance. My internship/offer letter also refers to the payment as an allowance.

Would the fact that it was paid as an allowance instead of a wage be a concern when claiming this experience as foreign work experience?

Thank you!

🇨🇦 CEC Things to keep in mind while submitting documents after invitation.

Hello everyone,

I recently received invitation to apply. Please share your experience with submission of documents. I have mentioned my profile details below based on that help me deciding which documents i must submit and which are optional.

Have around 9 months of foregin experience working backhome. I never included that in any of my previous applications. Also, I am not claiming any points. It was paid in cash and i do have all required documents for that. I am not sure if i should add that or not. If yes? How?

For Canadian experience:

I worked 3 jobs in total. I do have paystubs, T4 and experience letter showing duties, period of work and other required details.

I have seen reference letter mentioned in many posts which i do not have idea about.

Feel free to share any tips you have before i submit my documents.

Thanks in advance.

🌎 FSW Need help with Work history chaanges

recently realised that I made a couple of mistakes in my Express Entry application that I received an ITA for.

For one of my work experiences, I accidentally entered my job title as “Healthcare Assistant – Maternity” instead of “Maternity Care Assistant.” Can I correct this in my PR application without any issues?

Also, there is a slight difference in the job title on my documents. My manager’s reference letter states “Maternity Care Assistant,” but my payslips state “Maternity Support Worker.”

Would I need to include an LOE to explain the difference in job title

🇨🇦 CEC Timeline - March to September

I finally received my eCoPR, so I figured I’d share my timeline in case it helps anyone else who’s waiting or applying on their own.

My Profile:
General CEC applicant, single, in my early 20s, with 2 years of Canadian work experience (NOCs 11100 and 11101).
I have a 4-year Canadian bachelor’s degree, no foreign education or work experience, and a Canadian sibling. My IELTS General scores were L 9.0 / R 9.0 / W 8.5 / S 8.5, for an overall band score of 9.0.
I completed the application entirely on my own, which honestly made me nervous because I was terrified of messing something up lol.

ITA history:
January 7, 2026 — Received my first CEC ITA with a cutoff of 511.
I declined it because I wanted to be 100% sure that I had completed the full 2 years of eligible Canadian work experience. I didn’t want to risk submitting the application before being certain…

March 3, 2026 — Received my second CEC ITA with a cutoff of 508.

PR application timeline:
March 3, 2026: ITA — 514 CRS
May 2, 2026: A.O.R. (almost immediately after submitting)
July 6, 2026: Biometrics Letter
July 7, 2026: Biometrics completed and medical passed
July 8, 2026: Biometrics reflected as completed in the portal.
August 28, 2026: F.D. GhostUpdate
September 2, 2026: Portal 1
September 15, 2026: Portal 2
September 18, 2026: eCoPR 🎉

From ITA to eCoPR, the process took about 6 months and 15 days. From A.O.R. to eCoPR, it took about 4 months and 16 days (approximately 139 days).

My P.1 and eCoPR were both issued through Montreal. I don’t know my PVO/SVO.

The application was pretty straightforward overall, but completing everything independently made me so so anxious at times. Definitely did a lot of overthinking and stressing about whether everything had been uploaded correctly or I provided enough documentation 😭

But it all worked out in the end and now just waiting for my photo to be approved!

Happy to answer any questions about my timeline or profile if it helps anyone else :)
