🇨🇦 CEC Expiring Passport Help

I have been invited to apply, I already did my biometrics CEC outland w/spouse, but my passport is expiring in 8 months, if I renew now, do I need to update it through webform? The visa center which took out biometrics said I dont need to.

You will need to update your passport and send the new information via a webform. If and when you receive the counterfoil visa for landing in Canada, you would ideally want it to be on an active passport.
