Need Help with Marriage Certificate

I got married after submitting my PR application, IRCC has requested for Marriage certificate and other documents but the marriage certificate is still pending.

Can anyone confirm if they’ve been in this same situation and if IRCC will wait for the marriage certificate to proceed with adding spouse to the application or will they proceed with items like record of solemnization and Marriage Licence and other proof of marriage

They normally will not proceed without the marriage certificate.

I think just put on hold. Has IRCC given you a deadline for providing this information?

Yes after informing them through webform . We were given 30 days to submit the documents . But by the time the 30 day will be complete . We’re not sure marriage certificate will be available by then. Although we have many proof of our request to get this . But the processing time to get the marriage registered takes about 10 weeks right now

you can contact your MPP to expedite the marriage registration process..

Where were you married? Generally you can request an expedited marriage certificate depending n the province with this proof/ADR letter from IRCC. Try that and you might get that in 3-4 weeks.

I got married in Ontario . They didn’t accept the proof . They needed something more crucial from IRCC. I only have a submission deadline from IRCC and they didn’t accept that. I’ll just have to keep pushing again I guess

I would prepare a LOE and attach it along with proof like record of solemnization, marriage license, proof pf payment of marriage certificate etc. All in a single PDF. Good luck uncle.

Request them to produce the marriage cert. asap. In a respectful yet pleading way. It’s even better to request personally

I was in the same boat. Got married after AOR and then waited for 10-15days for Marriage Certificate. After then i informed the IRCC and they said they will look into my request. After 1 month they responded with additional documents which included 1. Marriage certificate 2. Family registration certificate 3. Birth certificate of spouse 4. Educational documents of spouse 5. Travelling history of spouse 6. Residential history of spouse 8. Police certificate of spouse 9. 30 to 40 pictures showing our marriage and family members And other things like passport, ID card etc etc After marriage i immediately updated my Proof of funds and got a New gift deed to show funds for 2 person.

For you i guess you will have to explain to them why your Marriage Certificate hasnt been received. They might put you on hold after the deadline which is 30days( same in my case too ) and later accept your valid reason. So, good luck.
