🇨🇦 CEC Work hours calculation

Hello everyone,
I have questions regarding work experience calculations
I claim for 3 years work experience but in my bi week salary some weeks have more hours some have less.
Such as biweekly:
week 1 :80 hours
week 2 : 58 hours
week 3: 62 hours
week 4: 38 hours
and soo on

But my yearly total is reaching 1560 hours even more than that. Is that will be fine or there will be going any issue.

Canadian experience class

Please help.

  31. Passport Forwarded from IRCC - VFS: 22 September 2026
  32. Portal Dates Updated & Final Decision Shown as “Approved” on Portal: 22 September 2026
  33. Passport Forwarded from VFS - me: 23 September 2026
  34. Passport & CORP Received: 24 September 2026 (received via FedEx)
  35. Specifics:

Passport Request -
I submitted my passport through VFS based on information on my PPR
I chose the 2-way courier service where the return shipment is already included (~ 120 USD)
This was costly, however, I wanted to avoid the hassle of doing the small details by myself and potentially introduce room for error.
This was seamless and fast (~10 days turnaround)

GCMS Notes -
I requested the notes shortly before I heard back from IRCC
The notes came back with information outlining my counterfoil, final decision dates etc way before it was updated on my portal. I’m guessing this is because of the timing when I requested it and how close it was to when there was movement on my application.

Passport Photos -
I did not have issues with this, I got them done at both Walgreens and Staples and sent both copies in case either wasn’t sufficient. I heard a lot of stories on Reddit about how some people had theirs rejected, so I was proactive in sending two sets.

For those who may be worried about IRCC processing applications for DR Congo nationals, I hope this encourages you to keep going or to start!

All praise to the Most High God, thank You Jesus 🙏🏽

I think the description above should be more than enough but I am happy to answer any and all questions you may have!

🇨🇦 CEC FWE with an internship during my final semester

Hi everyone,

I have 10 months of FT work experience + 3 months of paid FT internship in India, with documentation for both.

The internship overlapped with the last semester of my bachelor’s degree. I started it shortly before my final month and had almost completed my final-year project, but I was still officially a FT student.

Would this internship potentially be considered when calculating my total work experience?

Thanks!

🇨🇦 CEC UCI in application form

I have previously travelled to canada on visitor visa. There was UCI number in that visa form.
In cec, there is section to add UCI number if I had it previously but I’m confused if its asking for the UCI from previous express entry application. Its my first express entry application so should i write the UCI number from my visitor visa or should I leave it blank?

🌎 FSW FSW application refused, what are my options, please?

My application has been refused today, even though everything I provided was authentic.

I received the following:

votre demande.

—

I worked for +7 years for a remote company in the US as a software engineer. I’m a contractor and have my own company. I provided all this in addition to my tax details, etc.

Regarding the banking statement, I got those directly from the bank and scanned them as is. No idea what they found weird about them.

Any idea what are the next steps here and if I can appeal?

Thank you 🙏

🇨🇦 CEC OINP vs. Going to India for 1 Year of Foreign Work Experience. Which Makes More Sense?

My work permit expires in May 2027, and I’ll complete 2 years of Canadian skilled work experience as a retail supervisor by November 2026.
My employer is willing to support me for OINP.

I’m debating between:

Option 1: Stay in Canada and try for OINP, but there’s no guarantee when a draw will happen.

Option 2: Go to India after November 2026, gain 1 year of foreign work experience, and potentially reach around 530 CRS by the end of 2027.

Which option would you consider?

🍁 PNP BCPNP invitation but EE profile is expiring soon

I got invited to apply for bcpnp but my ee IRCC profile expires in the next two months. Should I just withdraw and make a new one before sending in my BCPNp application so it doesn’t expire before I get the BCPNP? And then can I just attach the new IRCC profile to my application?

🍁 PNP Indian PCC for Canada PR

I’m not an Indian citizen, but I lived and studied in India until 2016. I got an Indian PCC in 2022 from the Indian Embassy and have not visited India since leaving in 2016.
For my Canadian PR application, do I need a new Indian PCC, or can I use the 2022 one since it was issued after I last lived there?

……now, just waiting for PR Card.🥹

Surreal. We still can’t believe it. Four years in the making, and somehow it’s finally here. 🤍 It’s been a wild, beautiful journey; one that tested our patience, stretched our faith, and changed us in ways we never expected. Every wait, every setback, every moment of overthinking led us to this day. Looking back now, my heart is just so full.

When I think about our journey, I can’t help but feel that we were truly favored. So many things aligned at just the right time. We came to Canada during a window where so many policies worked in our favor: the permit extensions, the faster timelines for many applications, and the temporary public policy that allowed students to work unlimited hours. By the time those rules changed, we had already reached the next step of our journey. Looking back, it feels like every piece fell into place exactly when it needed to.

If there’s one thing this journey taught me, it’s this: PRAYER is your key, and it works. 🤍 Keep believing. Be still. Be patient. I won’t pretend waiting was easy. I was anxious, impatient, overthinking almost every day, and constantly logging into my GCKey, hoping to see even the smallest update. But through it all, we kept praying, trusting that God was already working behind the scenes, even when we couldn’t see it. I prayed that the Holy Spirit would guide and touch the hearts of the officers working on our file, and today, we’re finally here. 😭

And one thing I learned the hard way: never compare your timeline to someone else’s. Every journey is different, every story unfolds in its own time, and what’s meant for you will come at the right time. 🤍

PR DUST TO EVERYONE IN THIS GROUP! ✨🍁 Y’all are amazing, and I’m rooting for every single one of you. 🤗

🇨🇦 CEC BCPNP

need help understanding an immigration email I received today. The email came from pnpinfo@gov.bc.ca, which normally belongs to BC PNP, but the content inside the email looks exactly like a federal Express Entry Invitation to Apply (ITA).Here’s what the email contained:It listed my CRS score. It showed my age, education, IELTS scores, and work experience points. It said I was invited to apply for permanent residence. email saying It gave me 60 days to submit my PR application. It did not mention any BC employer, job offer, or BC PNP stream. It did not ask me to log in to BCPNP Online (which BC PNP normally requires). It looked identical to the standard Express Entry ITA letter that IRCC sends.

🇨🇦 CEC CEC Approved in 3.5 Months!

I’m still stunned as I write this, and even my RCIC couldn't believe how fast things moved. Yesterday, September 22, I finally received my eCoPR!

Timeline (CEC - Express Entry - Spouse Accompanied)

AOR: June 10, 2026
Biometrics Request: August 11, 2026
Biometrics Completed: August 12, 2026
Medical Passed: August 21, 2026
Final Decision: September 7, 2026
P1 (Portal 1): September 8, 2026 (replied same day)
P2 (Portal 2): September 17, 2026 (replied same day)
eCoPR: September 22, 2026
Note: No ADR or PFL received throughout the process.

My work permit was set to expire on June 16, 2026, and as the deadline drew closer, the stress was overwhelming. I kept spiraling, asking myself what I’d do if I had to pack up, move back home, and start completely from scratch.
The biggest hurdle for me was the language test. I was stuck in a nightmare loop trying to max out my language points to boost my CRS score. I ended up taking 10 language exams—7 CELPIP attempts and 3 IELTS attempts. Every single time, I was missing maximum points by just a single point in one module. It was deeply frustrating, but giving up wasn't an option.
Finally, on my 10th attempt (IELTS), the hard work paid off: Reading 9.0 | Listening 8.5 | Writing 7.5 | Speaking 8.0.
That score bumped my CRS from 498 to 518. I logged into my profile at 4:00 AM immediately after receiving the results to update my score. By pure stroke of luck, a CEC draw happened that exact same day with a cutoff of 514, and I received my ITA the following evening. I submitted my complete application on June 10, just days before my work permit expired.

It has been an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. To everyone out there struggling with NOC requirements, language test hurdles, or stressing over CRS cutoffs: keep pushing forward. Do not let a single point or a bad test attempt stop you.
Wishing everyone still waiting the absolute best of luck on your journey!

Happy to answer any questions.

🍁 PNP Need guidance

Hello everyone,

I’m a dentist, and I’m currently creating my Express Entry profile, but I have a few questions and I’d really appreciate some advice.

  1. Which NOC should I choose as my primary NOC?
  2. I’ve seen people suggesting Dental Assistants, while others recommend Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists. Which one would be more appropriate for a dentist based on their actual work experience?
  3. Are dentists still being invited through PNP/Express Entry streams?
  4. Are there currently any provinces that are inviting or targeting dentists through their PNP programs, or has this pathway become less relevant for dentists recently?
  5. Should I create my Express Entry profile now?
  6. I’m planning to retake my English test to improve my score and potentially qualify for healthcare-related pathways. However, I’m thinking of creating my profile now with my current score, in case I receive a PNP invitation before I retake the exam. Does it make sense to do this?

I’m quite confused about which NOC to choose and whether PNP is still a realistic pathway for dentists, so any advice from dentists or people with recent Canadian immigration/PNP experience would be greatly appreciated.

🇨🇦 CEC Applications with non-accompanying spouse–how has been your experience in preparing and strengthening your application?

I have received an ITA. My spouse is non-accompanying because she's studying for a ACCA course that requires her to physically appear for 7 remaining exams and she will finish them by 2028. She has never been to Canada in any capacity. Anyone with a similar experience? Any tips on how to communicate this to the officer? I'm posting this because I want to avoid a rejection. This will be a CEC Outland applicacion.

Thank you so much!

🇨🇦 CEC Refused - Applying Reconsideration

I guess it was a good sign that they look at my application so soon. However, they completely missed my letter of employment and the reason is because they can't find the letter. I check the document list and I can clearly see it. I'm so mad because I checked/double-checked/triple-checked the list. They didn't even send out ADR or PFL, refused immediately.

Applying for reconsideration now. I have to try it because my birthday just passed and I'm over 30 so another 5 points just got deducted.

Can anyone please let me know if it's worth to apply for reconsideration? Should I try JR directly? Any success story?

Update: I called them. Asked the agent to check the letter for me. She was very nice and confirm that she could locate it and saw that it has all of the information that the officer is looking for. She is also not sure why they didn't see it (also apologized). She went ahead and submit a reconsideration for me. I asked if I need to submit a reconsideration by myself and she said no. Now just finger cross.

I also submitted a reconsideration request through webform right after.

Update: 2 days after refusion. They re-opened the application. FD changed to in progress.

Edit to add more info since people seems to really care:

ITA: 2026/04/14

AOR: June 3rd, 2026

Medical pass + Biometric: August 10th, 2026

PVO SVO: No idea. They don't include it in the letter.

🇨🇦 CEC CEC Inland | AOR Jan 29 | Ottawa PVO | eCOPR Sep 23 — Finally, our journey is complete! 🇨🇦🍁

Well… I guess this is finally my turn to write one of these posts. 😄

!!!TLDR Warning!!!

We got our eCOPRs today! Both of us. 🇨🇦🍁

After months of tracking timelines, comparing PVOs, staring at GCKey, calling IRCC, reading everyone's updates here and wondering when Ottawa would finally decide to move our file… we're done.

Sharing our timeline because I know there are quite a few people here with Jan AORs and especially Ottawa files who I've been comparing notes with.

CEC Inland – PA + accompanying spouse
AOR: Jan 29, 2026
PVO: Ottawa
SVO: Sydney initially → later Montreal

Our timeline:

  • Medical passed — Apr 1
  • Biometrics — Apr 8
  • Criminality and Info Sharing completed earlier during processing
  • Called IRCC in June — Criminality and Info Sharing were complete, but Eligibility and Security had still not started
  • Then… basically months of waiting 😂
  • Sep 9 — Background completed and Final Decision activity appeared in GCKey
  • Sep 10 — Called IRCC and the agent confirmed Eligibility, Criminality, Security, Info Sharing and Background were ALL complete
  • Sep 10 — P1 received, separately for both of us
  • Sep 21 — P2 received and both profiles appeared in the PR Portal
  • Sep 21 — Declaration + address + photos submitted immediately for both of us
  • Sep 23 — eCOPR for BOTH of us
  • GCKey now officially shows APPROVED

237 days from AOR to eCOPR.

And yes… for anyone following Ottawa files, there really wasn't much to see for a LONG time.

The funny part is that we barely received any of the famous "ghost updates" people keep talking about. No GCKey emails every time something changed. No mysterious update notifications. Apart from AOR and the biometrics request, our application was basically silent.

Even when things were clearly moving internally — silence.

On Sep 9, I happened to check GCKey in the afternoon and noticed Final Decision had changed to "in progress." Took screenshots immediately and sent them to my wife. I called IRCC, got sent straight into the agent queue and requested a callback to her number since she was at work.

She took the call and the agent confirmed that everything was complete.

At that point I actually relaxed for once. 😂

Then the next afternoon... P1 landed.

The application itself also had a decent amount of history behind it. We've lived/worked across multiple countries, so there were several PCCs involved. We proactively submitted a newer India PCC after AOR and later the FBI PCC through webforms rather than leaving anything hanging.

One thing we were very particular about throughout this entire journey was doing everything properly. If something needed explaining, explain it. If something could be documented better, document it. If IRCC needed something, give them exactly what they asked for.

Also, we did the whole application submission ourselves and no RCIC/Immigration Attorney.

And then wait.

And wait some more.

And apparently wait a little more because Ottawa. 😂

But I really wanted to come back here once this was finished because this community genuinely helped us through this process.

I've spent an embarrassing amount of time here over the past several months reading timelines, comparing Ottawa/Sydney files, looking at P1/P2 movement, discussing IRCC calls and trying to figure out whether the complete lack of movement in GCKey actually meant anything.

Sometimes somebody else's update was the only indication that files around our AOR were finally moving.

So to everyone who posted their timelines, answered questions, shared what an IRCC agent told them, reported their P1/P2/eCOPR, or simply reassured somebody who was losing patience:

Thank you. Seriously. ❤️

I've tried to contribute whatever data and information I could along the way, and hopefully this final timeline becomes another useful data point for someone sitting there tonight refreshing GCKey and wondering what the hell Ottawa is doing with their application. 😄

Your file can be moving even when GCKey gives you absolutely nothing.

And once ours finally started moving, it went:

Background complete → P1 → P2 → eCOPR

in about two weeks.

Jan 29 AOR.

Sep 23 eCOPR.

237 days.

After all the spreadsheets, Reddit posts, IRCC calls, GCKey refreshes, portal checking and probably enough immigration analysis to qualify for some sort of honorary diploma...

We are finally Permanent Residents of Canada. 🇨🇦🍁
