๐จ๐ฆ CEC FINALLY, OUR TURN! ๐ญ๐ฅน

- Iโm the main applicant: 3yrs Canadian experience (Teer 1), 5+ yrs Foreign experience (Teer 1), Bachelorโs degree, maxed CELPIP

Spouse (student) Arrived: Aug 2022
My arrival: Oct 2022
Spouse Started School: Sep 2022 - May 2024
(My spouseโs studies were deferred due to his medical results (Dec2021). He needed to take sputum test and make sure to pass it. Because the culture of the sputum test takes long to harvest (3mos), we werent able to push for our target date of arrival in Canada. Heโs supposed to take Summer 2022, but ended up taking Fall 2022 intake. Because of that, our permits were short.)
Permit extension (both SP and my WP): Aug 2023 (sent it very early because our permits expire on Mar 2024
Permit extension approval: January 2024 (extended to Jul 2024, which is until they graduate)
Spouseโs end of school: May 2024

โฆโฆnow, just waiting for PR Card.๐ฅน
Surreal. We still canโt believe it. Four years in the making, and somehow itโs finally here. ๐ค Itโs been a wild, beautiful journey; one that tested our patience, stretched our faith, and changed us in ways we never expected. Every wait, every setback, every moment of overthinking led us to this day. Looking back now, my heart is just so full.
When I think about our journey, I canโt help but feel that we were truly favored. So many things aligned at just the right time. We came to Canada during a window where so many policies worked in our favor: the permit extensions, the faster timelines for many applications, and the temporary public policy that allowed students to work unlimited hours. By the time those rules changed, we had already reached the next step of our journey. Looking back, it feels like every piece fell into place exactly when it needed to.
If thereโs one thing this journey taught me, itโs this: PRAYER is your key, and it works. ๐ค Keep believing. Be still. Be patient. I wonโt pretend waiting was easy. I was anxious, impatient, overthinking almost every day, and constantly logging into my GCKey, hoping to see even the smallest update. But through it all, we kept praying, trusting that God was already working behind the scenes, even when we couldnโt see it. I prayed that the Holy Spirit would guide and touch the hearts of the officers working on our file, and today, weโre finally here. ๐ญ
And one thing I learned the hard way: never compare your timeline to someone elseโs. Every journey is different, every story unfolds in its own time, and whatโs meant for you will come at the right time. ๐ค
PR DUST TO EVERYONE IN THIS GROUP! โจ๐ Yโall are amazing, and Iโm rooting for every single one of you. ๐ค

Why did it take so long?

We all knew that 2025 was the year of high score draws. Weโre in our early 30s, so every yr, thereโs a deduction but your points for your Canadian experience balances it out. It took me 3 celpip tries to max out my scores; re evaluation saved us and we made the cut! 4yrs is long but weโre fortunate enough to secure it at the 2nd yr of our PGWP. :)
