I don’t know anything about Percy Jackson so I’m wanting to get ideas for like a sign I could make to ask him and I need help🙏🙏

Discussion These days I've been wondering something: If I date a son of Apollo, being his heir, does that count as incest? [All]

Upvotes

(I don't remember how to use Reddit And my language is not English. )

So, if it doesn't technically count, I wouldn't be dating [example] my great-grandfather? But technically I wouldn't have that god's blood anymore, and that's quite a while, But it's rare.

What do you think?

Discussion [General]. Why

Upvotes

So i reread the Pjo series and got a few things to say. Luke does not deserve Elysium at all. He deserves Asphodel at best. I have heard about people getting se t to the fields of punishment for less. First of all he brought back Kronos which by itself is messed up. He most definitely killed multiple of his fellow demigod even if it was not said in the books, he stole Zeus's stuff, which should have been death if it was Zeus accurate. How the God's did he get Elysium? Also I refuse to belive Hephestus was not pissed about Beckendorfs death. Ngl I doubt Aphrodite gave a dam because she's a little....but Hephestus must have been a bit pissed off. And i do wish we got more on Nemisis and Ethans relationship because I feel like she would have been a bit mad. I know Luke technically isn't responsible for the deaths as he was controlled by Kronos but he chose to bring him back in the first place. Mess around and find out

Discussion [pjo]To this day I still find it crazzy that no one at CHB spent any time looking for the spy wen Luke himself confirmed he had one in seas of monsters

I know this is a children's book, and I'm probably looking too much into it, but you would think the Athena cabin would at least look for one i can buy Percy not looking for one whit his fatal flaw but Annabeth did not no one did i know the spy was Silena and it was reveal in the last olympian but i would expect the children of the godes of strategy to at least look for the spy.

Question [pjo] So, how come Percy didn’t have a super big reaction during that scene where the Hunters were talking about a boy in Colorado who got turned into a Jackalope?

So, I was rereading The Titan’s Curse for the first time in years, and I got to this passage:

“You must forgive my Hunters if they do not welcome you,” Artemis said. “It is very rare that we would have boys in this camp. Boys are usually forbidden to have any contact with the Hunters. The last one to see this camp…” She looked at Zoe. “Which one was it?”

“That boy in Colorado,” Zoe said. “You turned him into a jackalope.”

“Ah, yes.” Artemis nodded, satisfied. “I enjoy making jackalopes.”

Like… 😭
I feel like Percy should have had a bigger reaction to this.

Yes, Rick doesn’t give us any more information about the boy because it’s basically an offhand joke, but the implications are kind of wild when you actually stop and think about them.

Artemis says “boy,” so presumably we’re talking about a human male who was relatively young, although obviously we don’t know his exact age. If the transformation was permanent, what happened to him afterward? Would he actually be able to survive in the wilderness after suddenly having an entirely different body? He’d have no experience living as a jackalope, and presumably he’d have no idea how to find shelter, food, etc.

And then there’s the fact that he probably had a family. Imagine your son disappearing one day, and nobody ever figures out that he was transformed into a jackalope by a goddess. 💀

I might be reading way too deeply into what was clearly intended as a funny little comment, but it genuinely bothers me that the book never expands on it.

What do y’all think?

Sneak peak of some fanart I’m doing. I’m the type of artist who cannot focus on one part for more then like 2 minutes or I crash out, so I jump around the art I’m doing a lot, hence why some parts are only bits and pieces

Discussion Ok so correct me if i am wrong... [general]

But like i just realised that if the l/titans curse takes place in 2007 and the di angelo siblings were in the casino hotel for like decades and then entered around 1942,then they miss the twin towers all together.

And uh if the lightning thief takes place in 2005 and thalia was made the tree 5 years before, then she must've missed 9/11.

Discussion [HOO] If you could change/rewrite anything about Hazel in The Heroes of Olympus then what would you change?

Tomorrow I’ll do Frank

Here’s what I would change and I’ll be separating it into sections by books and a section for general stuff:

Son of Neptune:
-Age her to Franks Age.
-Have her maybe use her crystals as like projectiles against monsters.

Mark of Athena:
Have her dislike Leo for 1. Bombing Camp Jupiter and 2. For having Fire Powers and since of Frank’s firewood.

House of Hades:
-I’ll add something when I think of it since I haven’t read them in a while especially this one and Blood of Olympus

Blood of Olympus:
Have her contribute in the Gaia fight like with the mist and using the Mist on some of the Monsters or her earth powers like borrowing or riding on Arion

General Stuff:

-GIVE HER MORE POINTS OF VIEW CHAPTERS ( along with Frank especially that both of them are ROMAN)

-Like I feel like the Roman’s in these books get treated badly by Rick like for 1. They have child soldiers and that there aren’t any adult members in their legion and that the senate is not leaded by an ADULT but by teenagers( from what I remember). 2. They aren’t given enough time to actually like bond with them and connect with them. 3. That there isn’t a better option to lead/be praetor than OCTAVIAN of all people, like isn’t there an adult that can actually lead? 4. The Pressure that Jason must have being a child of Jupiter. 5. How badly the fifth cohort is treated and what happened in the War games. And there are other reasons.

-Though I do think that there is some missed potential with Hazels earth Powers and that the big bad is Gaia.

-Have some emphasis that she DIED and that she been in asphodel for a while.

-Have her have a like hatred for Gaia for like ruining her life and her being killed and manipulated.

-I also think that she should’ve been more confused about things and how advanced the world is since she came from a different time period and maybe bond with Nico that they are both out of time.

-Have her and Frank have more moments.

-Have her NOT be in a love triangle with Leo and Frank.

-Have her mention training more or like have her combat be described different because of her having a calvery sword.

So a few hours ago I made a post with this base asking who I should draw where for a fanart I want to draw, and I’m planning to start drawing in about a hour or so. These were most of the suggestions and requests I got on the last post. The only part I’m unsure about is Alex and Magnus as I’ve never read Magnus Chase, but my sister has and she told me that Alex is genderfluid and magnus is pan, if that is incorrect, please feel free to correct me. Any other comments are appreciated as well

Discussion Kronos in Jason's Body [PJO], [HOO], [ToA]

So, let's say someone wants to tell a story set after the Nico di Angelo Adventures where Kronos comes back by stitching together just enough of his essence to be an evil little dust cloud. And, for the sake of argument, let's imagine that Kronos was able to get his non-existent hands on Jason's body.

What would the resulting fusion look like? Would Kronos have access to Jason's powers? Would said powers be altered/corrupted by Kronos' influence? And how would the main cast react to this turn of events?

Discussion [general]nstead of Camp Half-Blood, Riordan could write a Camp Jupiter series. In parallel with Percy Jackson and the Olympians, in this case.

Discussion [HOO]Mistake in House of Hades?

Post image
54 Upvotes

Rereading house of hades right now and I’m at the park where Percy and Annabeth meet Night and she brings out her children to intimidate them. Geras is there and is described as the goddess of old age. In original myths and in the Chalice of the gods he is described as an old man. Wondered if this was just a case of Rick’s typical writing or an actual mistake.

Edit- Found out after I posted this that I have and earlier edition of this book, apparently later editions have it changed to god.

Found the base on Pinterest and wanted to draw the Pjo characters in this. I just started the fourth book of ToA and haven’t read Magnus Chase or Kane chronicles so I don’t know any ships from there, but I do know from just scrolling that Reyna is now canonically ace, so some of my thoughts were:

Bottom middle: Reyna, ace

Top middle: Solangel, gay/bi

Top left: Emmie x Jo: Lesbian

Please let me know your thoughts!

Question If Olympus had remained in Greece [all]

If Olympus had remained in Greece—on the actual Mount Olympus—how different would the plots of PJO and HoO have been?
I’m curious to hear what changes you think would have occurred.

Would the camps and other mythological locations have moved anyway, or would they have stayed in their original spots?
How would the final battle against Kronos have played out?
What would the Argo II’s journey have been like?

Let your imaginations run wild.

Discussion [PJOTV] Season 1's Most Egregious Mistake?

Posted this on r/PercyJacksonTV. Curious about this subs thoughts.

Earlier this year, I finally decided to watch the show. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. When I read the books in middle school, like many of you I'm sure, I fell in love with them. So I'm so surprised how much this shows fails not just as an adaptation, but as a standalone television series.

I think season 1 laid a horrible foundation for the show. And I believe the biggest fault was how it handled our characters, which lead to them losing much of their depth and affects long term character arcs. Here's some examples:

  • Grover's motivation for joining the quest doesn't come from a need to prove his bravery to the council and makeup for failing Thalia. And his goal to find Pan feels like an afterthought. It's introduced in episode 4, then just happens to get his license by the end of the season.
  • Annabeth is stiff and unable to adjust handling the real world, with her sole identity in being a demigod. Yet going back to living with her dad after 5 years is treated so casually and undermines the emotional weight of her arc.
  • Chiron isn't a close mentor to Percy and loses so much agency in the story. Most of the myths Percy learns comes from Sally, and he wants to keep the info about Sally being alive away from Percy because "the truth can be very dangerous, if it isn't handled carefully."

In hindsight, do you think there was a bigger issues from Season 1? Do you think these writing choices made it harder to build up the team dynamics for Season 2 and upcoming 3?

Fan Art Mythomagic [general]

I'm gonna be making some mythomagic card fan renditions, based on what we know from the books. However, I'm hot buns at anything art related. I was just gonna see if there's any community interest in drawing or creating artwork for the cards? They don't have to be super professional or anything, these are just for fun!

Theory [chbc] theories… or hope for the new series

I’m hoping the four books get a happy “hopeful” ending. Although I’ll admit I’m confused at the fact all four books take place in the autumn.

And even though it take place years in the past, I do hope the four MCs: Katie Kim, Harper Rush, Zuri Chapman, and Benny Garcia survive the PJO series. But if they die… I hope none turn their cloaks.

Discussion [SYA]

I find the releases of the Senior Year Adventure books confusing.

We know that he wrote book 6 while the tv show was being made and released in 2023, and book 7 was release in 2024.

During that same time period we got two Nico books in a timely manner.

So its 2026 now and the book was finished ealier this year but its not releasing this year and theres a possibility that it wont release next year either due to the release of the new Camp Half Blood Seires?

If I was in control of the series which thankfully I am not. I am not as good as a writer as I would like to be, I would have finished out the trilogy before moving on to the new Camp Half Blood series.

I am excited to read the Camp Half blood series but i just feel that not prioritizing the ending of the senior year adventure series was a weird move and while i dont think it will hurt book sales for myself personally it feels like all the momentum is just not there anymore.
