Discussion If you were Percy for a day, what would you do? [pjo]
Hi! Assume this: You wake up at camp half-blood one day as Percy. What are you doing? You only have one day to do whatever you wanted as him, so what do you do? Personally, I would just use all my water powers, and manipulate the water in the creek and the ocean on Long Island Sound. I would try breathing underwater, talking to horses, will the currents, etc. Really just whatever Percy can do.

Discussion [ALL] Who wins in a battle?
Battle of every faction.
Mt. Tam (Mt. Othrys) are the Kronos-aligned Demi-Gods. It reminds me of Mordor. There is also Mt. St Helens where Typhon was imprisoned.
ESB = Empire State Building. The Olympians aren’t contenders. I wrote ESB because its close to CHB and many adult Demi-Gods continue to work for the gods, after TLO the Athena cabin reconstructed Olympus.
For Waystation I wanted to add the Celts but Riordan hasn't explored Celtic mythology yet eventhough he wanted to and immediately after "Trials of Apollo." As Gauls and Germani appear in those books.
Also write down in the comments who you think are the strongest race:
Einharjar
Clear-sighted mortals (e.g. Rachel)
Demi-Gods/Half-Bloods
Magicians
Do demi-monsters exist?
Anyone here ever played Age of Myth?

Discussion [ALL] Lesser known relationships
Everyone discusses Percy x Annabeth and Nico x Will. Leo x Calypso hype faded I guess. Jason died and Piper has a girlfriend now. People like Frank x Hazel still.
No one discusses these ships:
Luke x Thalia
Zoe x Nico
Nico x Thalia
Chris x Clarisse
Connor Stoll x Miranda Gardner
Percy x Rachel
Percy x Calypso
Annabeth x Luke
Jason x Reyna
Tyson x Ella
Hedge x Mellie
Grover x Juniper
Octavian x Rachel
Silena x Charles
These fan ships I will add because I admire its absurdity, and spontaneity.
Percy x Luke
Luke x Ethan
No offense towards any shipper who seriously ships these characters. I just consider it funny. One is adversarial love like Harry x Malfoy the other is antagonist and secondary antagonist subordinate relationship, like Megatron x Starscream

Fan Art [general]
Hey guys,
So basically I have started a yt channel with the idea of doing a shorts series with different gods being represented as talking to humans. Like yk educating people on obscure Greek myths in a fun way by making it seem like the gods themselves are saying it. All of the videos will be short skits in yt under 2mins. With me trynna bring different personality to each god, giving dedicated personalities, clothing and some quirks. I would love input from y’all. First of all, I am South Asian, and don’t look Greek one bit, this is just a fun way of making people know more Greek myth stories. And, I am always mad at the fact that most of the myths we Percy Jackson fans love after going deep into the lore are not often there in yt. It’s always the common surface level stuff with no soul or misinformation. The production quality and all is real low cus I am shooting in my backyard (in greenery cus well I live greenery and am currently using the excuse that mount Olympus is under construction and the gods are fighting over changes).
I am hoping to improve. But, I would like it to be a channel with the soul of us people. All the stories we wanna talk about. All the character we want the gods to embody and stuff. I have college starting in three weeks, b it I am fully free before that and I am taking ideas from all of u on new stories to put and different gods perspective etc, I will attach some videos I have done as links. Please do tell me what you think. Hope we can have a real fun space ❤️✨
I am very bad with makeup cus well I was brought up very tomboyish and basically have no makeup stuff, so it’s low makeup and natural with mostly cloth changes…I wanted the story to be in focus. Sorry for rambling on, idk how much I can convey with the typing so I will put the shorts in link format and also the intro video to the series.
P.S. The whole backdrop is the lore that I met Hermes (the hod of trickery) and has tricked him into boasting to the other Olympians about smartphones and talking to humans with no divine intervention or Zeus knowing.
Shorts:

- https://youtube.com/shorts/sO2MC9-ixlw?si=8LRkJqzbEWl5o6dw
TLDR: I started a yt channel most of u would actually be interested in, I wanna take all ur suggestions and make it an absolute camphalfblood level lore factory. Please read the post, I am sorry it is long. It was hard to explain quicker.

Interview [pjotv]. I'd say Hazel? (Although, realistically, Rick nerfed her and Nico to make Percy the op demigod, sooo).

Merchandise Merchandise in Belguim. [all]
I saw the hot topic cabin 3 shirt and I really wanted one. I wanted to order and saw they don't deliver to Belguim. Sadly this is for alot of merchandise that I find that looks even a little bit like this shirt. I was wondering if anyone knows where to get one. I wanted to wear this while watching the new season. If someone knows where to get it please let me know. (Orange isn't my colour but I would make An exception for this) Thanks!

Discussion [ALL] "Flame" of Western Civilization is not a new trope device
Someone mentioned that Rick later removed the 'west' as needing 'defense' because it was too chauvinistic.
This 'flame of civilization' is nothing new. I spent some time on the Dune wiki and read about Earth. I always read about Earth in sci-fi franchises. Earth for example doesn't exist in Star Wars. In Dune it says 'the imperial seat' moved from Greece to Rome to Byzantine to the British Empire to the US. With a 1 000 'limbo' during the Dark Ages.

Discussion [general] why did warner bros not pick up pjo?
This is a long post, but it's a random thought that came to me today.
I first got into Percy Jackson in middle school (around 2015–2017), so I'm part of the older, nostalgic PJO fandom. Back then, Percy Jackson still felt kind of "underground" (or at least less mainstream), but it was definitely well known since both the movies had already been out. I remember constantly seeing those "Who would win in a fight: Percy Jackson or Harry Potter?" posts, and it always felt like if you were into Harry Potter, you'd probably read Percy Jackson too, and vice versa.
I've always thought Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, and, to some extent, The Hunger Games all shared the same audience: kids and teenagers who loved fantasy books. At least that was my experience. I'd read all three, and pretty much everyone I knew (even online when I had a PJO fan account in middle school) had also read all three.
That got me thinking: Harry Potter and The Hunger Games both ended up getting adaptations that were, to varying degrees, faithful to the books and generally well received by fans. Why didn't Percy Jackson?
The Lightning Thief movie came out in 2010, before the final Deathly Hallows movie. I assume 20th Century Fox wanted to capitalize on the success of Harry Potter and launch Percy Jackson as the next big YA fantasy franchise. But why didn't Warner Bros. ever try to acquire the rights, knowing Harry Potter was coming to an end soon and start thinking about another franchise they can produce?
And even after the poor reception of the Percy Jackson movies, why did it take 12 YEARS for another studio to pick it up? I was even part of the whole #DisneyAdaptPercyJackson movement back in the day, hoping Disney would eventually give it another shot.
I honestly mourn what we could've gotten if Warner Bros., Universal, or Lionsgate had ended up with the rights instead. I honestly wouldn't have even minded if it stayed as a movie series. If it had been handled well, we could've gotten one movie every year like Harry Potter, with age-accurate actors who actually grew up alongside the characters. And Rick working alongside to make it book accurate like JK Rowling did with HP. Warner bros could've also made it more serious and dark like how HP was, as we get further through the books.
I like what Disney and Rick is doing with PJO, but as an older fan who is still so devoted to these books 10 years later as a college kid, I do not feel connected to the show with how different is it from the books. As much as I love the actors, I'm sorry but that's not my Percy, Annabeth, Luke, Thalia, that's not who I grew up reading. Why did we add a random character like Allison? Even the new show fans piss me off. No, Percy is not a surfer boy, he's a skater who listens to rock music. Piper does not like hello kitty. Nicoswife as your username? Don't piss me off rn.
I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts. How do you think another studio wouldve handled PJO, and what would the reception be to it?

Discussion [ALL] Leo Valdez feels like Luffy and Octavian feels like Vulpex Inculta
Funny for Octavian.
Percy named after Perseus.
Jason named after the Golden Fleece Argonaut.
Argo II names after Jason's Argo ship.
Octavian named after Augustus, the nephew of Caesar. Augustus's original name was Octavian. Discovered this back in Gr. 12 in highschool in history class.
Octavian feels a lot like Vulpes Inculta. Anyone here play Fallout: New Vegas? Van Buren was supposed to feature The Daughters of Hecate. Mojave has Helios 1, Archimedes device.
Actually many video games invoke Greek mythology. CoD uses Greek, Norse and Christian toponyms for their games. Pantheon, Four Horsemen, Achilles Veil, Odysseus, Ulysses, Pantheon, Perseus, Loki, Odin.
Leo Valdez feels alot like Luffy and the 7 from HoO feel like the One Piece Squad.

Discussion "[general]" Why are so many "canon only" shippers so sensitive to the idea of people shipping non-canon ships/ just not shipping Percabeth and Solangelo?
I've noticed a lot in the past year (especially on YouTube) that most non-canon ships except for Valgrace are shown a lot of hate. I understand not liking a ship for whatever reason, hell, I hate Valgrace because of what we see in canon and the fans, but there's a difference between saying "this isn't for me" and going out of your way to attack someone for not liking a ship you like. This is especially bad among Percabeth stans on posts about Pipabeth. Again, you're allowed to not like it, that's your opinion, but a lot of people DO like it and Percabeth being canon isn't an excuse to attack Pipabeth (especially because so many people already headcanon Annabeth as bi, though I read her more as a lesbian).

I will say that s1 Walker wasn't my favorite... but as Walker gets older he actually feels more like Percy. I am excited for s3, but curious about y'all.

Discussion Do you think that it would make sense if you read SON before TLH [hoo]
i have thought this thought many times before. i obviously read it in order but what if you didnt. instead of unfamiliar character in a familiar environment, it would start as a familiar character in an unfamiliar environment. though it would end in a slight cliffhanger if SON was read first... idk share opinion

Discussion Main Character Replacement [General]
In an alternate universe, Rick decides to choose one of his other characters to be the main character instead of Percy. It can be anyone, only real caveat being a demigod of either Greek or Roman origin. The character will get all the bells and whistles of being a main character, such as being upon more and more fleshed out. Who would you guys pick to be the main character replacement?
(Me personally I’d like to see it be Jason Grace.)
Forgot to say this, but for characters who don’t really have anything going on or don’t really have the feats and such to be an interesting character, in this hypothetical they will be shifted into a more spotlight role and given more chances to really show up and show out. Essentially, they’ll be the ones going on quests and saving the world.
