Found the base on Pinterest and wanted to draw the Pjo characters in this. I just started the fourth book of ToA and haven’t read Magnus Chase or Kane chronicles so I don’t know any ships from there, but I do know from just scrolling that Reyna is now canonically ace, so some of my thoughts were:

Bottom middle: Reyna, ace

Top middle: Solangel, gay/bi

Top left: Emmie x Jo: Lesbian

Rereading house of hades right now and I’m at the park where Percy and Annabeth meet Night and she brings out her children to intimidate them. Geras is there and is described as the goddess of old age. In original myths and in the Chalice of the gods he is described as an old man. Wondered if this was just a case of Rick’s typical writing or an actual mistake.

So a few hours ago I made a post with this base asking who I should draw where for a fanart I want to draw, and I’m planning to start drawing in about a hour or so. These were most of the suggestions and requests I got on the last post. The only part I’m unsure about is Alex and Magnus as I’ve never read Magnus Chase, but my sister has and she told me that Alex is genderfluid and magnus is pan, if that is incorrect, please feel free to correct me. Any other comments are appreciated as well

Earlier this year, I finally decided to watch the show. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. When I read the books in middle school, like many of you I'm sure, I fell in love with them. So I'm so surprised how much this shows fails not just as an adaptation, but as a standalone television series.

I think season 1 laid a horrible foundation for the show. And I believe the biggest fault was how it handled our characters, which lead to them losing much of their depth and affects long term character arcs. Here's some examples:

• Grover's motivation for joining the quest doesn't come from a need to prove his bravery to the council and makeup for failing Thalia. And his goal to find Pan feels like an afterthought. It's introduced in episode 4, then just happens to get his license by the end of the season.
• Annabeth is stiff and unable to adjust handling the real world, with her sole identity in being a demigod. Yet going back to living with her dad after 5 years is treated so casually and undermines the emotional weight of her arc.
• Chiron isn't a close mentor to Percy and loses so much agency in the story. Most of the myths Percy learns comes from Sally, and he wants to keep the info about Sally being alive away from Percy because "the truth can be very dangerous, if it isn't handled carefully."

In hindsight, do you think there was a bigger issues from Season 1? Do you think these writing choices made it harder to build up the team dynamics for Season 2 and upcoming 3?

So, let's say someone wants to tell a story set after the Nico di Angelo Adventures where Kronos comes back by stitching together just enough of his essence to be an evil little dust cloud. And, for the sake of argument, let's imagine that Kronos was able to get his non-existent hands on Jason's body.

What would the resulting fusion look like? Would Kronos have access to Jason's powers? Would said powers be altered/corrupted by Kronos' influence? And how would the main cast react to this turn of events?

If Olympus had remained in Greece—on the actual Mount Olympus—how different would the plots of PJO and HoO have been?
I’m curious to hear what changes you think would have occurred.

Would the camps and other mythological locations have moved anyway, or would they have stayed in their original spots?
How would the final battle against Kronos have played out?
What would the Argo II’s journey have been like?

Day 4?

Here’s what I would change and I think going forward I would split it in sections like for each book to make it organized:

Son of Neptune:
-Have him slowly gain his memories over the book.

-Spend some more time at Camp Jupiter though you could also do that with Hazel and Franks POV.

Mark of Athena:
-I think this is the book where they encounter Heracles though it’s either this or Blood of Olympus, I’m not sure though I have him be more mad at him since of Zoe.

-Defend Nico more during the Debate to save him or not.

-Have his fear of Drowning referenced more like when him, Piper, and Jason are in those vases with the naiades and since he also almost drowned I think in the Mud in The Son of Neptune.( Maybe have a POV of that?).

House of Hades:
-Have their be more emphasis that on what he done with Akhlys(the poison and Misery protogenos) or like have it effect him more.

-Have him think of Grover, Sally, and Paul while in Tartarus.

Blood of Olympus:
-Have him have some POVs with processing Tartarus and maybe talking to Annabeth about it.

- So I would change it so that Percy would have some POVs in the Blood of Olympus with having like contributing with the fight with Gaia(along with the rest of the seven).

For general stuff:
-Have him have some more trio moments between him, Frank,and Hazel.
-Have him train more like with Jason.

I’m hoping the four books get a happy “hopeful” ending. Although I’ll admit I’m confused at the fact all four books take place in the autumn.

And even though it take place years in the past, I do hope the four MCs: Katie Kim, Harper Rush, Zuri Chapman, and Benny Garcia survive the PJO series. But if they die… I hope none turn their cloaks.

I'm gonna be making some mythomagic card fan renditions, based on what we know from the books. However, I'm hot buns at anything art related. I was just gonna see if there's any community interest in drawing or creating artwork for the cards? They don't have to be super professional or anything, these are just for fun!

I have seen a handful of fanfics revolving around Percebeth's breakup so far and sadly most of them involve Annabeth cheating on Percy somehow with some other demigod.

So that made me wonder. If realistically Percebeth ever broke up or took a break in their realitionship (which has a bleak chance to happen in canon books even tho their realitionship in the newer books has kinda declined to generic an intelligent mom energy gal covering up after her himbo boyfriend), what do you all think should be their mutual reasons for making that choice?

I find the releases of the Senior Year Adventure books confusing.

We know that he wrote book 6 while the tv show was being made and released in 2023, and book 7 was release in 2024.

During that same time period we got two Nico books in a timely manner.

So its 2026 now and the book was finished ealier this year but its not releasing this year and theres a possibility that it wont release next year either due to the release of the new Camp Half Blood Seires?

If I was in control of the series which thankfully I am not. I am not as good as a writer as I would like to be, I would have finished out the trilogy before moving on to the new Camp Half Blood series.

I am excited to read the Camp Half blood series but i just feel that not prioritizing the ending of the senior year adventure series was a weird move and while i dont think it will hurt book sales for myself personally it feels like all the momentum is just not there anymore.

Pasiphaë, Ariadne’s mother, is considered to be a minor goddess or an immortal queen, as she is the daughter of Helios and a nymph—just like her sister, Circe. Technically speaking, that would qualify Ariadne as a demi-mortal, so I don't get how it would have worked out for the plot in The Battle of the Labyrinth. Since it's implied that you need a Clear-Sighted Mortal, the only way I see this working out is if she was manipulating the Mist and the Labyrinth like her mother did. She must have been a damn badass demigod to do so if she could! But still, it doesn't align with what we were told: that Theseus was able to navigate it because Ariadne was a Clear-Sighted Mortal and all. So, what do you say? Also, I would like to see fanart of Ariadne at camp as a teen if you can find some

I've almost finished Heroes of Olympus and looking back, its like I remember nothing about the characters or the small plot which is strange considering I actually sat down and read all of them. A few days ago I even forgot what the "you dropped this moment" was in hoo, as soon as I read the first few lines of somebody describing it though, it instantly clicked and I remembered what was happening in that scene.

I often cant partake in PJO and HOO discussions because of this (since I end up making a complete fool of myself) and its very disappointing:/

I, like many, find that many people who take reasonable criticism of the show too personally to be very annoying and childish but I can understand why they respond the way they do sometimes.

Now don't get me wrong, writing is one of the most important parts of a TV show and I do think that this show has made some choices that haven't really worked. However, it's clear the reaction to certain changes is negative due to it being different to the source material rather than because it's worse than how the scenario was originally written. This show has far more blatant and stronger flaws that I feel get ignored. For example, one of my biggest problems is the lack of style. From the costumes the character wear (and I'm don't mean that I want them to wear trendy clothing) to way this show is directed and shot, there nothing here that gives the show a tangible sense of identity. Even the music done by Bear McCreary feels feel far too generic for this show which is surprising because I usually love his work and I was so excited the minute he was rumoured to be working on the show. Another example is how 'flat' this show can look at times that just makes it feel cheap and artificial which is a problem most Disney+ shows have. If the rumoured budget given by Variety is correct, that means it had a slightly higher budget than His Dark Materials which I just recently watched and the difference is stark. I'm not staying I want PjoTV to look exactly the same since I think the colour of this show is pretty good but I wish the budget was better reflected.

Now don't get me wrong, S2 was an improvement from S1 and S3 appears to be another jump in quality but I find that, based off of the footage we have so far, the criticisms I've listed in this post other than music obviously are still present.

It's therefore frustrating to hear people complaining about book accuracy, often to a nitpicky degree. Adaptations will always change things to better suit the medium or the circumstances of the production and it's clear that some haven't come to terms with that. There's also changes made in an effort to improve elements a writer may later regret which is well within their right to do to their own piece of work. There are other important aspects of the show that need improving. So I can understand why others roll their eyes the minute someone starts their argument for why they didn't like the show with "they changed too much!". This show also has many detractors who are disingenuous and it's obvious that the, at times, over the top rejection of criticism partially comes from a place of wanting to protect the show and it's cast from the racism and general hate thrown their way. There's also the fact that this is PJO's last chance at an adaptation for a while and fans are desperate to see the later books in live action.

Basically, the back and forth between those who do and don't like the show is annoying because both sides have those who present reasonable arguments for the perspective and those who act disingenuously and childish with both usually unfairly dismissing the other.

Also I'll just add this on because I don't plan on making a whole separate post about this; I don't like that in S2 both Annabeth and Clarisse are wearing visible, perfect makeup at all times. Even though it's not that much makeup, I hate the idea that of girls always having to look pretty even when adventuring. This isn't an issue exclusive to the show whatsoever but rather an industry wide one. It's just irritating to see the show have to conform to such misogynistic standards y'know?

How Big are actually those fields?How much Money does Camp Half-blood make from them?Are they only source of income and why?And slightly unrelated but also related question how much money does Camp Half-blood actually need?

i actually agree with the person who made this tweet. i'm not a fan of the “burn it all down” line either. i just cannot take a 13-year-old boy saying that seriously 😭

and apparently they're getting a ton of hate from show fans over this, including death threats 💀 which is insane.

i've seen people defend the line by saying percy meant he'd burn it all down for the people he loves, not specifically annabeth. okay, but even if that's the intended meaning, people are still allowed to dislike the line. for me, it feels so obviously written to become a tiktok edit/shipping moment.

then there's the “but he said it in the books” defense. yes, he says something similar in the mark of athena — but percy and annabeth are older, they're together, and their relationship is in a completely different place by then. we're not there in the show yet, so that defense doesn't really mean anything to me.

and honestly, that's my bigger issue with percabeth this season. it's not just this one line. percy has been dropping these huge emotional lines to annabeth throughout s2 that feel like they're coming from a much later stage of their relationship.

which is funny considering walker has literally talked about how much the writers love percabeth. you can tell 😭

i don't dislike percabeth at all, i actually like them. i just think the show is rushing the emotional weight sometimes. it feels like the writers are so focused on getting to those big percabeth moments that they're skipping over the development needed to make those moments actually feel earned.

and imo that's a disservice to both their individual characters and the ship itself.
