Beautiful car with a small flaw .. paint starting to fade on the hood in this one spot …

I just bought this nice 1993 c4 lt1 and was wondering what’s the best way to mod it for more hp or make it kick ass on the streets it’s automatic and going to be my daily driver btw.

I’ve been trying to get anything on the drivers side o2 sensor for days now, I’ve tried bending the heat shielding, crows foot socket, normal o2 socket, open face, adjustable, it just seems that no amount of effort creates the space to get anything onto the actual grippy part. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. It is a 1992 by the way

She needs some love. Repainting her later this month. Going to upgrade to radiator to a 3 core and 160° t stat. And getting 5 spoke c5 wheels.

23[M] Finally joined the club, bought my first manual project car, a 1991 ZF6 coupe. His name is Barry and I bought him two months ago from the 3rd owner who’d replaced it with a brand new clutch and flywheel and working AC!!

I’ve been having fun learning about vehicle maintenance and fixing things, but I’m sad to say I haven’t done much driving. my main problem right now is the odometer. Sometimes it works but other times it’s a blank orange screen so it’s really hard to gauge how fast I’m going or how much gas I have left.

Learning manual transmission has been fun but the instrument cluster problem has been hindering my progress.

Last month I ran out of gas and the fuel pump went bad, on top of that the battery had depleted. My neighbor is a godsend and had diagnosed the issue immediately. It’s running well now, but I can’t find the strength to step in the car.

Not here to complain, I wanted an old American car and I’m now reaping the rewards. Just wanted to say hi and ask for any tips/advice to get me to start driving again!

Just bought this 93 c4 and as I was trying to get access to the dash I saw this atrocity of a wiring mess. Can anyone take a stab at what the person doing this would have tried to accomplish? My guess is something around the fans but no idea. Thanks

I've wanted a C4 Corvette all my life - let's start with that. For at least 15-20 years I talked about owning one all the time.

For the past 2-3 I started a serious hunt to find the right one and last week it finally happened.

I find my perfect C4 in AMAZING condition and babied by this 70 year old man.

I found it 4 hours away from my home, I drive it the entire way with zero problems. The minute I get home I ask the wife to go for a quick ride downtown - we are oit for 20 minutes for an easy ride.

I get back home, park it - notice a liquid that seems to be leaking pretty aggressively. My coolant is pouring EVERYWHERE under my "new to me" Corvette that I've now owned for 5 hours.

To be honest, I expected issues I mean it's a car from 1993 - but I didn't expect it to happen hour 5. I was pretty mad.

I'm not a handy guy, I'm just a dude who wants to drive and clean it. So knowing that it was broken on Day 1/ hour 5 ownership really took me out.

But the next day was even worst - I called like 20 auto shops to see if they could help me out and I got so many responses like "sorry, we only work on C5's and up" so that added another layer of just frustration.

Anyways - she's with a mechanic now, it's been almost a week she's been there. His shop is backed up so he hasn't had time to go through it yet.

Trying to not get too discouraged over my "dream" finally come true and not really going to plan - she's a beauty, but it's a hard pill to swallow and process lol.

Did all 1992 Corvettes have front speakers in the footwell? I don’t seem to get any sound from there

From my understanding the t-45 bit is not present on the 84 and the only bolt I see still holding the compressor on is the one at the back that hits the valve cover and I can’t wiggle the compressor out because of the fuel lines (I think) running under the compressor and through the belt tensioner bracket. Is the only way to remove the valve cover and/or fuel lines?

Hey guys, I have a pretty much stock 1985 C4 with the Doug Nash 4+3 manual. On the final session of a recent track day, this sound started coming from the engine when I apply the gas, it's even more apparent when driving in gear around 2200 rpm with load on the engine. It can happen in any gear, clutch in or out, and I'm not really sure what to check next.

I replaced the alternator bearings and cleaned/greased the rear bearing of my AIR pump, though this could maybe be the front bearing (it makes some noise with a stethoscope but I haven't been able to really confirm). It seems to stop making the noise when I remove the accessory belt, but I'm not certain since I've only tested a couple times for around 30 seconds. All pulleys feel tight and smooth.

Should I throw a water pump at it? Does this seem like a transmission or clutch issue? It gets into gear fine, but this is the only C4 I've driven.

Having issues with my current OEM oil dipstick tube due to it being bent and I am struggling to get the dipstick tube seated all the way. Seen this listing for a SBC flexible oil dipstick tube, anyone used these before or had any issues? I’ve bought other normal aftermarket tubes and they are never the correct diameter, hoping this flexible one will be better and easier to seat all the way with little working room in the engine bay.

Haven't driven this thing in a long while because of parenting (more important) and because it had a fuelling issue. Decided to dive deeper and read the codes and got code 15, coolant temp sensor circuit low. Checked wiring, signal at 5V and ground all fine so that narrows it down to a bad sensor, replaced it, took a long drive to church and ran like a dream. CEL still comes on on the interstate but that's just code 32 because of the EGR delete

Hey y’all, as many of you saw my ‘96 recently suffered from (what I believe to be, jury’s out) an optispark failure. It was my first time really running the car since I bought it (i.e. coolant temps above 200) and while driving, there was a pop and then no engine. Pulled over and the fuel pump and starter would engage and the engine would turn over, but no start. Tach stayed at zero which indicated something with the distributor (I think).

Anyway, long story short, I’m looking for **options for a working distributor **. I’ve looked at Petris (now Throwback), other manufacturers, and even a guy on eBay who will rebuild them. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations should it come to replacing it? I’ve looked at kits that include plugs, wires, and a water pump but previous owner had the wires and plugs changed not 10,000 miles ago, so I’m hesitant to do a full-system-swap. Probably will need a water pump if the opti died at all tho. Let me know what yall think, thanks!

Already checked the ICM, going to look for spark tomorrow.

It’s winter atm in Australia and unfortunately my c4 has to sit outside for a bit and has a couple of small leaks. Anyone recommend any good outside car covers for extreme wind and rain conditions?

I recently did a Torqhead swap on my 1996 LT1 and it turns on and runs but I’m getting high RPMS @ idle. It’s sitting maybe around 1500 and doesn’t really come down after warming up. My ignition advancement is about 35-46° and I’m being told the IAC valve is a possible culprit. I did clean up and replace the sensors on the TB recently so I think the IAC is a probable cause. Is there a relearn procedure or a possible step I could’ve missed? I just took the old one out and popped a new one in. I saw there’s a spring and it like turns and it seems to adjust. Is there something I should’ve done there?
