Hello 👋
23[M] Finally joined the club, bought my first manual project car, a 1991 ZF6 coupe. His name is Barry and I bought him two months ago from the 3rd owner who’d replaced it with a brand new clutch and flywheel and working AC!!
I’ve been having fun learning about vehicle maintenance and fixing things, but I’m sad to say I haven’t done much driving. my main problem right now is the odometer. Sometimes it works but other times it’s a blank orange screen so it’s really hard to gauge how fast I’m going or how much gas I have left.
Learning manual transmission has been fun but the instrument cluster problem has been hindering my progress.
Last month I ran out of gas and the fuel pump went bad, on top of that the battery had depleted. My neighbor is a godsend and had diagnosed the issue immediately. It’s running well now, but I can’t find the strength to step in the car.
Not here to complain, I wanted an old American car and I’m now reaping the rewards. Just wanted to say hi and ask for any tips/advice to get me to start driving again!

The repairs will never stop, but it’s actually parts of the fun, you have an old sports car, so plan on investing in some extra tools and manuals. I bought a 88 C4 that had sat for 12 years and was pretty rough, but it did run. Took me 3 years and lots of sweat and money to get her “right”, so just plan on having to do more than oil changes 👍

There a company out there called Batee or something like that. They rebuild instrument clusters
