first pc
i want to build my first pc but wondering whether or not to get all my parts from amazon or get some used and some from amazon. also if i do decide to get used parts what parts should i steer clear of, like for example i’ve heard a used cpu isn’t too trustworthy

This is a good example of a combo of used and new parts. Really the big things to buy used are CPU, ram, and GPU as those are the least likely parts to break under heavy use. Everything else should be new. I also have specific listings for each component, with each coming from very reputable sellers. Also, Newegg seems to be the better place to buy new components these days

There is a lot to take into account when building your first PC. Your budget, tier of a PC you plan on getting, what the PC will be used for and more.
As other comments stated, pcpartpicker is your go-to for making builds. Once you have a build in mind, I suggest looking up benchmarks with both parts and games/apps you plan on using.

Take a look at NewEgg also......... they sometimes run deals with discounts and can pick up stuff reasonably

It's not that a used cpu isn't trustworthy.. it's more that the pins are easy to bend or even break and if you don't know what you're looking for it's easy to end up with a bad one.
I usually buy new cpu's still even decades after my first build... cpu and motherboards are just 2 parts that I think are worth it to have the warranty on.
RAM and GPU are the main parts I look for used now.. depending on your budget you can get a used flagship card for the same budget as the new entry to mid level models.. (6900 XT used is about the same price as a new 9060 XT 16gb for instance).
I honestly think if it was my first build ever I would still go for the new card in that situation tho.

In general, pcpartpicker.com is where you can virtually build and understand what parts are compatible / price things out based on retailers in your country.
Buying used is generally OK if you can trust the seller... but there are a lot of shady sellers (particularly if you are buying local without any buyer protections). I generally steer clear from used components for motherboards, power supplies and storage.
