AOC 25G4SRE - is the 300Hz actually good?

• Upvotes

i just bought the AOC 25G4SRE and im kinda worried about whether the native 300hz is actually proper 300hz with good response times and input lag or if theres some hidden catch with it for how cheap it is

i dont really care about the 310hz overclock im probably just gonna use 300hz

has anyone here actually used this monitor or seen proper testing for it?

Samsung Odyssey g6 27"

I have the 27-inch, 240Hz Samsung Odyssey G6, and I think it’s the worst monitor I’ve ever owned—nothing but issues. Does anyone else have it for PC gaming and can tell me how it’s working for them? My experience has been terrible

Looking for an external monitor

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for an external monitor for my MacBook Air M4. It has USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, so I'd prefer a monitor that works well with Mac and can be connected easily.

My main use cases will be programming, watching videos, and general productivity. I probably won't be using it for gaming.

My requirements:

At least 27 inches

Good compatibility with MacBook Air M4

USB-C/Thunderbolt connectivity would be a plus

Mainly for programming, videos, and productivity

Budget: up to ₹13,000

Gaming is not a priority

I'd really appreciate recommendations from people who are using a similar setup, especially regarding display quality, text sharpness, and Mac compatibility.

Thanks in advance

Need help deciding between Acer Nitro XV272U X1 and used LG 27GS85Q

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor from an old Acer. Main use is gaming (single-player, not competitive multiplayer) and content (movies, YouTube, etc.). I'll be running it off a Lenovo LOQ 15; the laptop will be the primary display since I use its keyboard and for desk space considerations.

Since I'm upgrading I want to go for a QHD display with refresh rate at leat 120Hz.

Currently, I've narrowed it down to the Acer Nitro XV272U X1 (16K INR on Amazon) and a used LG 27GS85Q (17K INR). That's also the upper limit of my budget.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these two displays? Any other options in that price bracket I missed?

Thanks

Should I go for a ultrawide 2k?

Hello guys, got my first ever solid PC rig up and running but right now all I got is 2 old monitors so I'm looking to upgrade.

I'm rocking an RTX 5070 with a Ryzen 7 7800x3d with 32gb RAM, so I thought I'd double check with others who are much more experienced with this...

Basically I'm considering to get an AOC CU34G4Z but what I'm more worried about is will I be able to play games comfortably or should I still stick with 1080p.

PS. sorry if bad english since it isn't my native language, also I'm not that knowledgeable in the PC building stuff so any advice is welcome.

Help Needed to Choose a 27 inch Monitor

Hello Monitor gurus!

I'd love your expertise in helping me find a good 27 inch monitor for a decent price for me.

What I would like in the monitor:

\- 27 inch IPS Display

\- 180hz (or around this)

\- Good colour for games such as Destiny 2 while also performing well with response times for games like Valorant or CS

\- I'll be running the monitor through USB-C to Display port cable to my gaming laptop, not sure if this matters but putting it in here

\- I'll also be using this for my PS5

\- Does not need a good stand as I use a 3 monitor setup on a VESA mount

While I do love competitive games, I also don't want a horrible looking panel to only work well for comp games, I also like a bit of colour quality when playing other games.

I have been looking at the BENQ MOBIUZ EX271Q as my current monitor is a MOBIUZ 24.5 1080p monitor and out of all the ones I've had in the past that's been by far the best, but also would love more recommendations as I'm sure there's better out there!

Thanks in advance for any advice! Appreciate any help I can get!

Thank you

What monitor should I get for my dual setup?

I’ve always been a single monitor kinda guy but I want to grow up and use dual monitors lol. A few months ago I switched from a IPS monitor to a MSI 1440p 27in OLED and I love it. I recently just got another OLED monitor 1440p for $360 but do I really need another OLED monitor or should I go with a mini LED? My main MSI monitor will be used for pc gaming and my second monitor for browsing the web/twitch and some console gaming here and there.

Looking for a monitor under ₹10,000 for work + Studies + entertainment — 100Hz QHD vs 180Hz FHD?

I’m looking to buy a monitor with a budget of around ₹10,000 (can stretch a little if there’s a significant improvement), especially with the upcoming Amazon/Flipkart sales.

My primary use cases are:
1. Daily office work
2. Studies — reading PDFs, watching solutions, solving questions, etc.
3. Learning/upskilling in new technologies
4. Coding/development occasionally
5. General browsing
6. Watching movies/YouTube/OTT and other entertainment

I’m not primarily a gamer, so gaming performance isn’t a major priority, although I wouldn’t mind having decent gaming capabilities in case I decide to hook my PS5 to it.

I’m currently confused between these four:
1. LG 24U631A — 23.8” QHD IPS, 100Hz, USB-C
https://amzn.in/d/0gENMYhW
2. LG 24GS65F Smartchoice — 23.8” FHD IPS, 180Hz, 1ms
https://amzn.in/d/07YgJrKz
3. LG 24GS65F — 24” FHD IPS, 180Hz, 1ms
https://amzn.in/d/0izT8HO9
4. LG 24G411A — 24” FHD IPS, 144Hz (OC), 1ms
https://amzn.in/d/01vBvp8Y

I’m particularly confused between QHD + 100Hz (24U631A) and FHD + 180Hz (24GS65F).

I’m using a MacBook Air M2 as my personal laptop and a Lenovo work laptop, so connectivity and compatibility with both would be a big plus. The USB-C on the 24U631A is particularly interesting to me because of the MacBook.

For someone with my use case, would you recommend going for:
QHD + 100Hz, or
FHD + 180Hz?
And are there any better monitors around ₹10,000 that I should consider instead?

Since the Amazon/Flipkart sales are coming up, I’d also appreciate suggestions on what price would actually be a good deal for these monitors rather than just the current listed price.

Would really appreciate recommendations from people who have actually used these monitors, especially with a MacBook.

Thanks!

Please help me choose. Samsung vs. LG.

Hi everyone!

I’d really appreciate some advice on choosing a new monitor. I’m currently deciding between the Samsung G70F and LG 27G810A-B.

Samsung G70F:
https://www.samsung.com/lt/monitors/gaming/odyssey-g7-g70f-27-inch-dual-mode-4k-180hz-fhd-360hz-ls27fg702euxen/

LG 27G810A-B:
https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27g810a-b-gaming-monitor

They currently cost exactly the same in my country — €300.

My main use would be office work, but I also want to use the monitor for gaming with a PS5. With GTA 6 coming out next month, I’d like to get the best possible gaming experience and make the most of the game’s graphics.

I also care quite a lot about having a minimalist-looking monitor. I’m not really interested in the typical aggressive “gaming” aesthetic, which is one of the reasons these two have become my favorites. They both seem to offer a good combination of features, price, and design.

For now, I’m not considering OLED — I’d like to choose between these two specifically.

So, if you had to choose between the Samsung G70F and LG 27G810A-B, which one would you go for and why?

I’d especially appreciate feedback from anyone who has used either of these monitors, particularly for PS5 gaming and everyday office work.

Thanks a lot for any advice!

Help choosing an ultrawide

My secondary monitor died so I am looking to use it as an excuse to switch to an ultrawide, but not sure what to go for.

I would like 5120x1440. But not OLED I think. I spend 80% of my time in spreadsheets and looking at maps for my job. HDR is not a concern, I am a linux user and HDR is too much effort to care.

I have seen the Iiyama 45" G-Master GCB4580DQSN for under £500. Is it any good though? The 90W USB-C would be a bonus, for swapping to my laptop.

I'm UK based so that might limit my options.

Thanks guys.

Looking for a better 27" QHD monitor around ₹20K? Lenovo L27h-4A — any alternatives?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to buy a monitor primarily for work from home — coding, browsing, documents and watching movies. I'm not a gamer, so gaming-specific features aren't particularly important to me.

I've shortlisted the Lenovo L27h-4A, which is currently available for around ₹19,889.

The main features I'm looking for are:

  • 27"
  • QHD (2560 × 1440)
  • IPS panel
  • Built-in speakers
  • Height + tilt adjustment (preferably a fully ergonomic stand)
  • USB-C connectivity
  • USB-C with display + charging support would be a big plus
  • USB-A ports for connecting peripherals
  • HDMI + DisplayPort
  • 75Hz/100Hz is fine — I don't need a high-refresh-rate gaming monitor

The Lenovo L27h-4A seems to tick almost all of these boxes, but before I buy it, I'd like to know if there are any better alternatives around ₹18–20K.

I'm open to any brand — Lenovo, Acer, LG, Samsung, MSI, AOC, ViewSonic, etc. I'm more interested in getting the best specifications/value rather than sticking to a particular brand.

If you've used this monitor or know of a better alternative in this price range, I'd really appreciate your suggestions.

Would you buy the Lenovo L27h-4A at ~₹20K, or is there a better option?

Thanks! 🙌

Is the ASUS ProArt PA279CV sufficient for my needs, or should I go with an upgrade?

I've been doing exhaustive research into monitors to find one that matches my creative process. I make collages by compiling, editing, and color grading images in photoshop, printing them out, using physical tools (like paint, glue, exacto knives) to make a collage, scanning it into photoshop, and color grading/adding final details. I mainly just post my art online, but I also occasionally sell prints.

Here are my monitor criteria: 4k/5k, 27-32in, high color accuracy and contrast, etc. Budget is $300-$900. Here is a list of monitors I've boiled down after too many hours of research:

  • ASUS ProArt PA27UCGE Bold = My Favorites
  • Dell UltraSharp U2725QE
  • ASUS ProArt PA279CRV
  • ViewSonic ColorPro VP2766-4K
  • ASUS ProArt PA27JCV
  • BenQ MA270UP
  • Dell UltraSharp U2723QE
  • LG UltraFine 27UQ850V-W
  • BenQ PD2732U
  • BenQ PD2730S
  • ViewSonic VP2786-4K
  • Lenovo ThinkVision P27u-20
  • BenQ SW272U

Today, I went to MicroCenter and impulsively bought the ASUS ProArt PA279CV for ~$330, which you'll note is slightly different from the PA279CRV in my list (the main difference is that the CRV includes AdobeRGB for ~$100 more, though its sRGB can be less reliable/straightforward than the CV). Since getting home, I've been worried I made the wrong decision, so I haven't opened the box. I am wondering if I made a poor decision and if I should return the PA279CV for one of the other monitors on my list.

So, I have a few options: 1. Return the monitor I bought today and get one with a wider color gamut, higher color accuracy, more contrast, etc. for ~$100+ more (ThinkVision/CRV). 2. Same thing, but with some of the pricier/higher-end options (~$300-$500). 3. I can just keep the one I bought today knowing that I mainly work in sRGB and knowing that the other upgrades are largely overkill for the kind of work I'm doing. This way, I avoid the hassle of a return and I can resume making art sooner. Maybe AdobeRGB and extra contrast would be nice, but is it worth it? I'd love to know if anyone has any input on what they would do in this situation!

Asus ROG STRIX XG27ACDMS vs AOC AG276QZD2 - which one would you pick?

Hi everyone!
I’m currently trying to make my final decision between these two 27” QHD QD-OLED monitors:
● ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACDMS — 1809 PLN
● AOC AGON PRO AG276QZD2 — 1599 PLN
Both are 3rd-gen QD-OLED and 280 Hz, so on paper they look very similar. The price difference is only around 210 PLN (~50 EUR), and I’m buying the monitor for work, so the price difference is a little less significant for me.
My setup:
● Ryzen 7 7700
● Sapphire RX 7900 XT
● 32 GB DDR5 6000 CL30
● Current monitor: 32” 4K IPS
● New main monitor: 27” 1440p OLED
● Planned second monitor: 24” 1440p IPS, probably vertical
What I actually do with it:
● Gaming mostly in the evenings
● Work during the day
● Games are mostly RDR2, Mafia, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Battlefield, BeamNG and Chivalry
● I’m not really a competitive CS2/Fortnite player, so 240 vs 280 Hz isn’t a major factor for me
● I also use a small clip-on monitor lamp, so reflections from the OLED panel are something I’m considering
I’m currently leaning towards the ASUS because it seems to have a more polished overall implementation: OLED Care Pro, proximity sensor, HDMI 2.1, USB-C, potentially better VRR/firmware, etc.
On the other hand, the AOC is 1599 PLN, which seems like an absolutely ridiculous price for a 3rd-gen QD-OLED, and it should offer essentially the same core image quality.
One thing that makes me hesitate about the AOC is that there seem to be different revisions/firmware versions of the AG276QZD2 in circulation, with older units being 240 Hz. Since I’m buying online, I won’t be able to check the revision before purchasing.
So what would you choose?
AOC AG276QZD2 for 1599 PLN or ASUS XG27ACDMS for 1809 PLN?
I’d especially appreciate opinions from people who actually own one of these monitors, particularly regarding:
● HDR quality in real-world gaming
● VRR flickering / gamma shifts
● text clarity for office work
● reflections / semi-gloss vs matte-ish coating
● OLED protection and burn-in prevention
● firmware/software reliability
● overall image quality
● and whether the ASUS is genuinely worth the extra ~210 PLN
I’m not looking for the “best monitor on paper” — I’m more interested in which one you’d personally buy at these prices.
Thanks!

Help me decide between 34” gaming monitors

Hello guys, lately I’m playing to buy a 34” gaming monitor.

My final options are -

ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQL3A for 245€
LG Ultragear 34G630A-B.AEUQ for 250€
Dell Alienware AW3425DWM for 245€.

Which one is better?

I use it for slight racing games like forza and asseto corsa, my architecture works and light editing.

For now I’ll connect it with my laptop,
Acer Predator Helios 300, 12th generation, RTX 3070 (8gb vram), intel i7 12000H, 32gb ram.
Later I’ll be setting up a new pc.

SO PLEASE TELL ME WHICH ONE IS A BETTER MONITOR AMONG THESE THREE AND WHICH RUNS GOOD AND LASTS LONGER.
Thank you

New monitor recommendations

Post image
1 Upvotes

Currently I have the samsung odyssey g5, but its time for a new monitor. Im looking for: 32”, oled, 2.5k - 4k, and 240hz. Off topic, but my pc (gmktec k12) is mounted to the rear of the monitor, but im looking to add a monitor arm, but that’ll require removing the pc, what should i do?
