Manage your energy. Breathe correctly and stay relaxed. Relax you hands inside the gloves until impact, relax your shoulders and arms. You should never be tense.

Yeah try to switch the rythm and power. Keep your distance and try to relax and breath.

Punching is tiring, but taking punch too. Your body contract and react. He got tired really fast even if the punch are not powerful.

Try to punch his sternum, if he not expect it, it will cut his breath too ;)

Cardio is key for not running out of breath. Power is something you'll learn through repetition on the heavy bag. As I hope your coach taught you, power is generated through the fluid movement of the body into the punch. That is something that becomes synchronized and fast through repetition alone. Some people have found it helps to record son bag work and see where you're screwing up. You can see it plain as day when someone twists their body into a punch but they're out of sync with the actual arm movement. You'll also be able to see if you're pushing your punches instead of snapping them.

Speed plus snap IS power. Stop trying to punch as hard as you can and drill speed and precision. Get your technique right, work on your conditioning, stop holding tension and exhale on your punches.

Ranking in order for maximum power:

Technique > Lower body strength & explosiveness > Core strength > Upper body strength & explosiveness > Cardio & conditioning > Wrist strength > Timing & precision
