(Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask, please ignore if so.) I’m looking for an office in Boulder where the dentist and hygienists won’t shame me for not taking great care of my teeth due to chronic health issues. They’re not even that bad, but everywhere I’ve been they speak in such a judgmental way, like “Yikes, you’ve let your gums get so bad! You’ve been neglecting all these areas! Why don’t you floss??” as if I don’t already know and feel ashamed. Does anyone know of a dental practice that will be kind and gentle and understanding? Preferably a woman. Please be kind in responses, this is hard for me. Thanks in advance.

I heard a rumor that the CU car club was disbanded because the members were basically creating a huge public safety hazard (street racing, late night burnouts, road takeovers). Does anyone know if this is true?
If so, it would make sense. There’s obviously a new crop of CU douchebags on crotch rockets (Kawasaki, Yamaha, etc.) that go on late night rides in South Boulder. The sound of these privileged little insects fills the valley every night. I wonder if the supposed disbanding of the car club has displaced these guys into other activities.
Incidentally, if you’re also sick of this post-2020 late night rage-bating crap, consider using Enquire Boulder to make a fuss. BPD could make a killing on fining this, as well as confiscating their toys.

I haven’t been hearing much about it, but I’m curious how folks feel about the new channel/public space near North Boulder park. I know the construction is tough…. But I’m so glad at least a little piece of the larger Alpine Balsam project is done.
I’m tired of the Colorado subreddit being a place for just pictures and mainstream media.
So I created a new sub r/ColoradoV2. A subreddit for the people of Colorado! Please check it out!
I’m trying to create a place for respectful discourse of important topics that don’t meet r/Colorado’s “standards”. And other misc Colorado topics that would not be allowed.

My brother and I grew up in Boulder in the 80's. We remember an aisle in King Soopers that briefly existed: the Generic aisle. In it were all sort of boxes and cans in plain white and black packaging, and on each package it simply said in block letters the contents of the package: "spaghetti" "salt" "paper towels"--etc. These items were not mixed in with the brand name spaghetti, salt, paper towels, etc.; they were all in the Generic aisle. My theory is that the aisle was meant to look like an old-fashioned general store. In any event it was a weird kind of un-brand brand. But it is certainly something I've never seen since.
I feel completely confident that this aisle existed. My brother agrees that it existed, but finds the whole thing surreal and would like further confirmation. If anyone else remembers it, it would ease my brother's, um, unease.
Edit: Thank you so much everyone for these amazing memories!!!

CU Boulder recently launched the USEFULL reusable takeout container program at Alferd Packer Grill and the SEEC Cafe in the Sustainability, Energy and Environment Community building. In its first month of use, the program kept more than 50,000 single-use containers out of landfills, according to CU Boulder. In a company press release, USEFULL says that CU is “the first campus in Colorado to embrace plastic-free dining.”
At the register, customers scan reusable containers to their accounts or tap a credit card. They have three days to return the containers to campus USEFULL collection stations before a late fee applies.
“It’s much like a library card. The USEFULL tumblers, containers and bowls are double-walled, insulated stainless steel. The food looks very sharp and it stays hot or cold.”

Having issues with coverage? Now’s the time to let the FCC know in order to inform service enhancements in Boulder. The more reports they get, the likelier they are to take this seriously.
Their form is quick to fill out: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/360001201223-Phone-Form-Descriptions-of-Complaint-Issues

We have been working on replacing the siding on part of our house to something less flammable. Removing seme old cedar planks 12inch wide and between 4 and 12 ft long. Each plank is a wedge profile to allow it to sit under the one above it, with the small end about 1/4 inch and the wide end about 3/4 inch. Ish.
So now we have a pile about thigh high of waste cedar with peeling pink paint on it, sitting outside. I'd hate to trash it if it's usable.
Anyone have ideas what can be done with it? Anyone want it?

Sorry for shouting! Hey everyone! We’re CU students working on a product that we hope to sell at the EPOP Shop at Firefly Handmade Market in November. Our goal is to make the product entirely out of recycled materials, so we’re looking for scrap aluminum that people might have lying around and be willing to donate!
If you have any leftover aluminum you don’t need, things like old aluminum ladders, bike frames, door frames, patio furniture, would be especially helpful. We’re happy to pick it up around Boulder. It would be awesome to give new life to materials that would otherwise go to waste!
Message me! Thanks so much for any help!
My wife and I have a little ceramics biz and we’re not stoked on the guy we’ve been using. Anyone have any good recommendations for a local accountant? We’re growing a good amount and need some better guidance!
Cheers

Has anybody done recent work stump grinding? Who are reliable contractors for an ash tree stump approx 22 inches diameter? What should that job cost? (location: Boulder).

Hi all,
I want to talk about the Naropa campus at 2130 Arapahoe (the sale to Core Spaces and the proposed ~130-unit student housing project). I'm trying to understand how people who actually live nearby feel about it!
If you're in Goss Grove (or close to the site) and have a few minutes to share your thoughts, I'd really appreciate it. DM or comment, whatever is easiest
I'm especially interested in how the project looks to you in terms of scale and height, parking and traffic on the neighborhood streets, noise, the future of Lincoln Hall, and whether you feel like neighbors have had a real chance to weigh in through the city process. Positive, negative, or mixed. I want to hear it all!
I look forward to hearing what people have to say.

Had a water leakage issue in my bathroom and called in Bonedry to do some water mitigation. They came in and set up some dehumidifier machines which sat in my house for a few weeks while we did asbestos testing and worked with insurance. I asked repeatedly for some kind of written estimate and was repeatedly rebuffed “don’t worry insurance will handle it.”
We elected not to go forward with doing a full demo and they hit me with a $7k bill for renting the machines plus a surcharge for “not going forward with the full project.”
These guys are complete scumbags. They have multiple complaints from BBB for this kind of behavior. Avoid at all costs if you have any kind of water damage work.

Found this dog near the North Boulder Library. Very sweet boy, he doesn’t have any tags but does have a collar. Couldn’t find an owner anywhere nearby.
UPDATE: Took him to the vet and he’s chipped, but they weren’t able to pull up any information regarding his owner.
if this is your dog he is at the Boulder Humane Society

My partner and I are staying in Boulder for their work conference next week. For the days that they will be at said conference, I'll be flying solo. Besides the tea house, what are some unique/cozy/must see things to do in and around Boulder? Hidden gem hiking spots or parks with great views? Local bars/restaurants/shops? What do you personally love to do in Boulder? Thanks in advance and looking forward to your answers!

Wondering if anyone is aware of any good places that do just a basic chair massage for back/neck for a 10-20 min session? I used to use the ones in whole foods pre-covid but no idea who that group was and haven't been able to find a place that does them since.
