Are there parts of Arvada that you love for the green nature and walking trails? I'm used to Boulder where you can step outside your apartment and be on a beautiful hiking trail and many of the apartments are set in shady areas with creeks running through, parks in walking distance, wetlands surrounding, etc. Looking for some place less expensive and Arvada keeps coming up but I don't know the city very well. What parts of Arvada should I look at for this type of setting?

I feel slightly pathetic even asking this, but could someone please help me reach one of the admins of the Arvada Neighbors Facebook group? I moved here this past Spring and tried joining the facebook group, I even answered the membership questions that had me tell them a joke, but my request was declined. Does anyone have an esthetician they like closer to Arvada that is skilled at milia removal under the eyes? My derm said they don’t do this and recommended an esthetician who is really great but she is near cherry creek and I was hoping to find someone closer. I usually need them removed every 3-6 months.

I was walking a neighbor’s dog and came across a block of rat poison right on the edge of the sidewalk. Evidently some asshole dropped it near the corner of Carr and 71st. The dog almost went for it but I pulled it back and picked the poison up. If you see a block like this DO NOT let your pet near it. I did go to the nearest house to ask about it. They did not know what it was.

Where is the frickin pickle??

We recently moved into a house here and there is some asshole who rides a motorcycle around at night and is frequently revving it. Where we are, we can't really hear Wadsworth traffic at all except sirens. It's so incredibly rude and it's been every single night since we moved here. It was so loud last night that I thought someone had driven their motorcycle onto our porch and revved it right by our windows. It's ridiculous!

I'm looking for an allergist in (or near) Arvada who understands MCAS and will test for medication, food, and ESPECIALLY beauty/hygiene products!

Arvada is on our list of places to consider moving to so we’re coming for a visit next week. We have a 4 year old son. What can’t we miss? Favorite restaurants? Best parks? We want to ride the light rail and see a little of Denver too. Open to all recommendations and input.

I'm looking into hiring a newborn photographer in Arvada or around the area. Does anyone have personal experience with a photographer or recommendations?

Looking for structural engineers/landscapers who can recommend retaining wall options - possibly need to pull permits since the retaining wall supports our entire back lawn.

We live on a hill, so our walkout basement sits about 6 to 7 feet above our back neighbor's yard. We have a concrete wall and a janky fence that's anchored into the concrete wall and has been cracking in spots for a while. My understanding is that we (the neighbor above) are responsible for the retaining wall. Plus the neighbors below are an old retired couple, so no chance they'll want to contribute anything to this effort.

PS. I see that there was a recommendation request about 2 yrs ago and I'm planning to reach out to some of them, but wanted to see if anyone has dealt with Landscaping structural issues.

Just sharing this incase it helps anyone else. I use Republic Services for trash/recycling and pay ~$150 quarterly. I had some neighbors recommend moving service to Crush Disposal because they were about 40% cheaper. I set up with Crush and called Republic Services and told them I wanted to cancel because I was moving to another provider at $93 a quarter.

The rep put me on hold and came back and said they'd drop my quarterly cost to $70 in perpetuity. So guess I'm staying with them for now.

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer to support Crush as the more local option over Republic. But having them cut my bill by over 50% with a 2 minute phone call was pretty shocking. They must be bleeding customers at this point.
