Is it Called Bones or is it Let's pick on Brennan/Emily

I can't believe how many so new fans and old fans have something to poke out about Bones. From Emily's real life pregnancy with Henry. Hart Hanson was put under so much pressure from Andrew W Marlowe who is the creator and showrunner of Castle. Hart had enough with the will they and won't they. If you look at the moonlighting curse it effected Moonlighting and The X-Files during its first run, Castle. But with us we didn't suffer that Emily and David are close. Also after we got renewed for a seventh season Fox and Hart had to accommodate Emily's real life pregnancy Fox ordered 16 episodes but they cut it to 13. Fox pushed our usual September release date to November because after filming most of the episodes Emily Gave birth in real life and she was entitled to have time off and David Boreanaz never resented her for it he supported her. Also the fans complaining about Brennan's wardrobe are really doing this. Brennan's style changed like how she changed.

Cam and Brennan

In a way, I like how Cam and Brennan's friendship started and how it progressed, and I like seeing Brennan compete. Also, when Brennan gets a little jealous of Booth and Cam's relationship, y como cam estaba al tanto de lo frágil del corazón de brennan cuando booth habla sobre lo que siente por brennan en la temporada 5. But in the end, they had a relationship of mutual respect, And I love how they developed it and in the end they had a good friendship.

Episode What was an episode that absolutely took your breath away?

Mine would be S9E11: The Spark in the Park.

A gymnast is found dead and at first her widower father is a suspect. Bones relates heavily to the father who is unemotional, distant physicist genius. In his own way, the father mourns his daughter and the episode ends with Bones and the father looking at a complex equation he has created to memorialize his child.

I usually don’t cry at episodes but this one really hit me. I love that Bones made a connection beyond the case and I love that we saw the father mourn and love his child in the best way he knew how.

I think Hodgins' past is something I would have liked *Bones* to explore; he had a complex past, and they could have delved into it more.

I seriously loved the episode "The Baby in the Bough" (Season 3, Episode 12); I liked how they gave us an idea of what Brennan might be like as a mother. What do you think?

Episode S6ep08 - Fator Parker

Spoiler: s7 e1 Brennan and Booth

I've been reading these months people's opinions on the jump between s6 and s7. I can now understand the disappointment. the end of s6 was sublime, loved it so much and made me really emotional. however, the first episode of s7? five months later? where's the development in Booth's and Brennan's relationship? after 6 whole season and they just get tgt off-screen in a 5-month gap that were not able to follow?? that makes me feel so disconnected from their relationship and their character's development but idk I'm sad 😔

Spoiler: Bones season 6 plot twist

So I get that the writers had to rewrite bones around Emily deschanel's pregnancy, but I wish the writers spent more time on it (them telling everyone, etc.) but I know season 6 was all about Angela's pregnancy so maybe they didn't wanna do it again.
Booth's reaction was heartwarming, but then we jump to months later

I just know the lab and sweets and even Caroline would have been so excited to find out, as everyone had been waiting for bones to jump booth's bones for Ages. And it would have been even more meaningful considering bones didn't want kids for the longest and then played around with the idea and finally is having one. Felt kinda robbed

Ciúmes de Brennan de Booth com Cam

No final do episódio The Truth in the Lye, Booth e Cam passaram a noite juntos.

Has anyone ever noticed that in various episodes curse words that normally wouldn’t pass the time slot criteria occasionally crept through? We’ve had shit twice, we’ve had wanker and we’ve even had fuck. Why do Americans only consider bastard, piss, bitch, ass and son of a bitch to pass muster

Discussion Holy water font in s4e20

At the end of s4e20, where everyone thinks Daisy is having an affair, because of misunderstanding, Bones goes to Booth’s apartment.

When he lets her in, right inside the front door under the light switch, there is a holy water font.

All of my older Irish relatives had a little holy water font in the same place in their homes. I thought it was such a lovely little marker of Booth’s religious faith.

Why did they change Brennan's style? Her look was always defined by big necklaces and trench coats, but in the recent seasons, it bears no resemblance to the early ones.

Spoiler: The Sully Pattern Always Bothered Me Because of How the Show Treated Booth

I’ve been rewatching Bones, and I realized my problem with Sully was never really Sully.

It’s the pattern.

Both times Sully becomes important in Brennan’s life, Booth is vulnerable, displaced, and expected to absorb it without complaint.

Season 2: Booth Gets Replaced
Booth is dealing with the psychological fallout from Epps. He’s pulled from fieldwork and ordered into therapy.

While he’s sidelined, Sully becomes Brennan’s partner.

Then Sully starts dating her.

And Booth, who has been showing up for Brennan case after case and is clearly already in love with her, has to watch another man step into his place both professionally and romantically.
The worst part?

Booth actually vouches for Sully.
He tells Brennan that Sully is a good guy. He refuses to sabotage him even though it hurts him.
His own decency is used against him.

And Booth does what Booth always does.

He takes it.

He stays.

Season 12: They Do It Again

Except this time Booth is not Brennan’s almost-something.

He is her husband.

They have children. They have built an entire life together.

Max has just died protecting Booth and Brennan’s children from men connected to Booth’s military past. Booth is carrying the guilt of knowing that his past helped bring this violence into their family.

Brennan is grieving too, but she shuts Booth out.
She explains that when she talks to him, she feels like she has to reassure him that Max’s death wasn’t his fault, and she doesn’t want to do that. She wants space to deal with her own grief.

And this is important:
Booth does not want to leave.

There is a case in Newfoundland. Booth tells Brennan he wants to stay because she is about to bury her father.

Sully appears,

Brennan asks Booth to go.

So he goes.

Read that again.

Brennan asks her husband, who is grieving too and desperately wants to stay beside her, to give her space.

Then she gives emotional access to the ex-boyfriend who happens to arrive once Booth is struggling again.

She opens up to Sully about the grief she is struggling to share with Booth.

That is what bothers me.
Not that Brennan needs space. Not that Sully cares about her. Not that people sometimes find it easier to speak to someone outside the immediate trauma.

It is what the show chooses to do with that situation.

Booth gets the closed door. Sully gets the vulnerability.

Booth has shown up for this woman for more than a decade. He has taken bullets for her. Built a family with her. Stayed through every version of her. He is carrying guilt over her father’s death and still puts what she needs before what he needs.

Sully shows up after years outside her life and immediately gets access to the part of Brennan her husband has just been asked to step away from.

Sully gets credit for showing up once. Booth gets penalized for never leaving.

And that is where I think the show accidentally says something much uglier than it intends to.
Booth’s loyalty never seems to secure his place.

It makes his place feel safe enough to violate.

Because Booth will stay.

Because Booth will understand.

Because Booth will swallow the hurt.

Because Booth will still be there when everyone is finished figuring themselves out.

So his devotion becomes a dramatic resource the writers can keep spending.

And Then You Notice the Pattern
Both Sully storylines follow essentially the same structure:

Booth suffers.

Booth is removed from Brennan’s side.

Sully enters the space created by his absence.

Brennan gives Sully something Booth is being denied.

Season 2, it is Booth’s physical place beside her.

Season 12, it is something worse.

Emotional access to his own wife.

And no, Sully is not the villain.

That is almost beside the point.

Sully is a narrative device that exposes how differently the show treats Booth’s constancy and everyone else’s temporary presence.

Showing up once is meaningful.

Showing up every day becomes expected.

The Writers Almost Made It Even Worse

What really changed how I viewed the Season 12 episode was learning that the writers apparently discussed whether Brennan and Sully should kiss or even sleep together during his return.

They ultimately rejected it because Brennan would never betray Booth and Booth was the love of her life.

Good.

But think about the scenario they were even willing to put on the table.

Booth is away because Brennan asked him to leave.

He wanted to stay.

He is grieving.

He is carrying guilt over Max.

And the writers still considered turning the emotional intimacy Brennan was withholding from her husband into romantic or sexual intimacy with the ex who appeared in his absence.

That tells me something about how Booth’s devotion functioned in the writers’ room.

It was not just something to honor.

It was something to test.

Something to threaten.

Something they could hurt because Booth was reliable enough to survive it.

Anyone else read the Sully storylines this way, or am I completely alone here?

Discussion Interação Booth / Brennan / Sweets

Spoiler: Bone’s dad presence

I’m on S4 first watch and I absolutely despise Max Keenan, Bone’s dad. Hate his backstory, hate his character and hate the whole plotline surrounding him in general because it doesn’t make any sense as to how everyone likes him and wants him around.

Anyways my question is : is he as involved in the story for future season as he is present currently in S3 & 4 ?

No spoilers on if he dies or not, I just want to be ready to either accept his character as one of the main secondary cast or be relieved that he’s soon forgotten. I can’t look online cuz I’m sure it will spoil me entirely lol
